The Fast Saga Trailer Breakdown and Reaction!

by Gumbercules9000 on Feb 6th, 2020

The Fast & Furious movies, or as the studio now wants us to call it: The Fast Saga, has been a rocket ship to the moon of ridiculous for the past decade. Every sequel gets bigger and crazier. We’ve had skyscraper jumping, parachute cars, using a car as a murder weapon, pushing a torpedo on ice with your hand while fighting a submarine, the list goes on forever. Well, what a glorious day it was for me this weekend when a new almost four-minute trailer for the latest Fast Saga Film F9 made its way into these eyeballs. This trailer is more absurd, fun and insane than almost any of the other movies. This crew started stealing blu ray players from trucks and is now “Tarzan-Swinging” a car over a cliff… I can’t get enough of how wild this trailer is. So watch the trailer then check out my scientific breakdown with time stamps.

Uncut Gems – Film Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 20th, 2019

“Uncut Gems is one of the most intense movies I have ever seen and don’t get Adam Sandler another comedy special but rather, get this man the Oscar right now for his performance.”

A New York diamond district dealer with a severe gambling problem snowballs into a series of violent and suspenseful situations in the new Safdie brothers movie ‘Uncut Gems‘, starring a phenomenal Adam Sandler in a role like you’ve never seen him in before. Don’t get this man another comedy special, get this man the Oscar right now for his performance as Howard Ratner, the most irritating business owner in the world. This film is a surprise punch that might have the most intense sequences of the decade.

In the world of unnecessary sequels run amok, Zombieland: Double Tap proves that sometimes sequels are absolutely worth the wait. Set 10 years after the original movie, Zombieland: Double Tap quickly picks up where we left off with this makeshift family as they work together to survive a zombie apocalypse. Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson), Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) & Wichita (Emma Stone) all reprise their roles from the 2009 original with the same enthusiasm as they had the first time around. When the first movie came out most of the stars were not well known but after 10 years they’ve gone on to star in Oscar-nominated movies and even win Oscars themselves. Those 10 years in real life and in the Zombieland universe was the perfect amount of time for the writers and director to put together a sequel worthy of the original and maybe even superior to it in some way. This is easily one of the best comedies of 2019.

What do you get when the co-writer and director of ‘Mac and Me‘ have access to an animatronic Tyrannosaurus Rex for two weeks? Something that looks a lot like ‘Robocop‘, but with high school students played by Denise Richards, Paul Walker, and a T-Rex. Of course, I’m talking about the infamous film ‘Tammy and the T-Rex‘.

‘Hobbs and Shaw’ – Film Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jul 31st, 2019

“‘Hobbs and Shaw’ is a fun movie that deserves to be seen loud and with friends.”

I was watching the original Fast and Furious movie the other day and realized that film is now considered a drama with a car chase and a couple of gun blasts. I wouldn’t regard it is a big action movie anymore, which is odd to say. Over the past decade or more, these Fast and Furious movies have grown into mega-budget action blockbusters that tend to lean over how they can top the previous action sequence along with a couple of funny lines of dialogue. Now don’t get me wrong, I enjoy these movies on an over-the-top level where I can appreciate the insane spectacle on screen. It’s a fun break from the more serious stories I see. Now we have the first spinoff movie from that franchise called ‘Hobbs and Shaw‘, that stars the characters Luke Hobbs (Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) from the Fast and Furious franchise.

Blu-ray Review: ‘Children of the Corn: Runaway’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Mar 26th, 2018

In 1977, Stephen King gave the world the short story of ‘Children of the Corn‘, which followed a rural group of kids who killed adults, because some supernatural demon told them to. Flash forward to 1984 and we got the film adaptation of King’s short story that starred a young Linda Hamilton (Sarah Connor in Terminator) and Peter Horton, whose only claim to fame was being married to Michelle Pfeiffer for a brief stint in the 1980s. The film was creepy enough and had a good backstory and origin tale to deliver the goods on scares, but it never stood tall against other horror movies of the time. That didn’t stop ‘Children of the Corn‘ from becoming a small film franchise over the years. You probably wouldn’t believe me if I told you that there are a total of 10 ‘Children of the Corn‘ films. Yes, 10 whole feature length movies that you’ve probably never seen minus the first film. Nine of these movies have never made it to the theater, but rather home video on various formats, and there is no sign of them stopping. I’m just surprised there hasn’t been a big budget remake yet. The 10th installment is titled ‘Children of the Corn: Runaway‘, which in fact involves a runaway.

The world of pro-wrestling has been around for many years and has certainly seen its ups and downs, most noticeably being the WWE. There have been many promotions through the decades, which have made a lot of people very successful and it continues to this day. At some point down the road though, there was one company that surpassed everyone by leaps and bounds and brought the pro-wrestling arena into the mainstream. Of course I’m talking about World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), or the artist formally known as World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in its teenage angst years. For a long while, there were two major companies that featured the best of the best in the pro-wrestling world. WWE and WCW. They didn’t play well together at all on and off screen.

Dan M., here….

Game of Thrones isn’t great this season and its ok to admit that. Come to peace with it. Embrace it. It is still the best looking show on television, with some of the most complicated characters ever seen on screen or page. Even this season the show can reach heights that no other show on television has ever touched, ever. But gone are the reflective moments, the social commentary, the irony, and any emotion. Anyone can make a spectacle. Hollywood is never short on spectacle. You can have a movie with superheroes, giant robots, etc. and you won’t find anyone with a pulse who won’t admit that is kind of neat looking. But more often than not these big spectacles bomb or get trashed critically because there isn’t one ounce of honest character development or storytelling. This is where Thrones finds itself.

Considered to be the best fighters in southern China during the 19th century Qing dynasty, each of the “Ten Tigers of Canton” was a master of a unique martial arts style, from the “Hap Family Fist” to the “Bone Melting Palm.” Their stories have been embellished by folk legends and passed down from generation to generation, and now two of their stories will be brought to American audiences when HBO releases Master of the Drunken Fist: Beggar So and Master of the Shadowless Kick: Wong Kei-Ying on Blu-ray™ and DVD August 8th.
