Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

THE SERIES

I remember when the pilot episode for ‘Boardwalk Empire‘ aired on HBO back in 2010, which was directed by Martin Scorsese. After the episode aired, I said to my friends, “that was one of the best pilots to any television show I had ever seen.” They all seemed to agree. What followed was five season of some of the best storytelling set in the prohibition era of America, complete with historical figures and gangsters. It was almost like it was ‘Goodfellas‘, but set in the early 1920s. The series followed Nucky Thompson (Steve Buscemi), who was based on a real guy, who secretly controlled the Boardwalk in Atlantic City and bribed politicians and presidents to make his rise to power much easier.

Hey guys, Jana here,

HBO has made a name on it’s original and edgey content for itself over the years, there are spectacular examples to support that argument with ‘The Sopranos‘, ‘True Blood, the original ground-breaker ‘Sex and the City‘ and recently with ‘Boardwalk Empire‘.

Blu-ray Review: ‘Boardwalk Empire’ Season 5!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 15th, 2015

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

THE SERIES

It’s sad to see this amazing gangster show come to an end. It’s been a great five years, and this last season did a lot of things right in regards to wrapping up story lines and character arcs. I remember watching the first episode, which was directed by Martin Scorsese and thinking this is one of the better pilot episodes I’ve ever seen. I still think that to this day. There have been some great characters over the years, and it was sad to see how some of them ended up, but make no mistake, this fifth and final season hit its mark. HBO shortened this final season to only eight episodes and focused on wrapping up each character with an emphasis on Nucky Thompson’s (Steve Buscemi) childhood, upbringing, and how he became who he is.

Hi Bryan Here….

HBO’s ‘Boardwalk Empire’ is easily one of the most brilliant and engaging series to air in the past decade.  It is full of colorful characters, gripping story lines, and tons of violence and sex.  And all of the series is based on actual people and events from the roaring 20’s in Atlantic City.  You can tell that everyone involved with the series has a passion and love for the show.  This bluray release is incredible.  The video and audio are top notch while the extras are a lot of fun for any fan of the show.  This gets my highest recommendation.  So let’s have a glass of scotch and be secret about it.

Hi Bryan Here….

TV Line is reporting that Boardwalk Empire has not renewed Paz De La Huerta’s contract for season 3.  Huerta played Nucky Thompson’s unstable mistress, Lucy Danziger.  She was introduced in the first episode of season 1 and was in  the first half of season 2’s episodes.  In season 2, she has a baby with Michael Shannon’s character, Lt. Van Alden, and she then runs away leaving Alden with the baby.  That might be the last we will ever see of Lucy.
