Oct/2019

Hi, Bryan Here….

I wrote a story last month on Robert Rodriguez talking about his plans for the much awaited ‘Sin City’ sequel and ‘Machete’ sequel.  You can read that story HERE.  Well, today Dimension officially announced the ‘Sin City’ sequel which will be titled, ‘Sin City: A Dame To Kill For’.  This is going to be great.  Frank Miller’s story is fantastic and might be my favorite one of the series.  The other stories are being kept under wraps and casting is expected to start next week with most of the original cast returning.  Shooting should being this summer and 3D is a big possibility.  I’m also curious to see if Tarantino will guest direct a scene or two like he did in the first film.

Hi Bryan Here….

Sam Raimi has started shotting his ‘Oz: The Great and Powerful’ and released the full official synopsis of the film.  Tons of great stars are in this film including: James Franco, Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams, and Zach Braff.  I’m glad Raimi is back in the director’s chair again doing an epic film.  This could be amazing.  Looking forward to it.  Will the classic car make an appearance or Bruce Campbell in any way shape or form.  Let’s hope.

Actor Zach Braff is in final negotiations to be added to the cast of ‘Oz: The Great and Powerful’ directed by Sam Raimi of ‘Army of Darkness’ fame.  Braff will play the role of Frank, the loyal but under-appreciated assistant to the great and powerful Oz played by James Franco.

Hey guys, Jana here,

mv5bmjmzndm4mjywnf5bml5banbnxkftztgwmde4nzkzmte-_v1_

Since there just are not enough man-eating plants in my movie collection, I’m ecstatic that Warner Bros. is making a movie musical remake of ‘Little Shop of Horrors‘. The property began as a horror movie from Roger Corman in 1960, then it went on to become a musical, then another movie, it’s had a lot of incarnations, which makes sense because it’s such a genius story!

Reubens, who can be heard in ‘Smurfs 2‘ talked a little bit about that film and his upcoming Pee-Wee projects. What do you get when the co-writer and director of ‘Mac and Me‘ have access to an animatronic Tyrannosaurus Rex for two weeks? Something that looks a lot like ‘Robocop‘, but with high school students played by Denise Richards, Paul Walker, and a T-Rex. Of course, I’m talking about the infamous film ‘Tammy and the T-Rex‘.

Fantastic Fest is one of the events that is pure bliss for any fan of genre cinema. If you love horror, sci-fi, foreign, action, and even adult-oriented movies from the 1970s, then Fantastic Fest is the place to let that freak flag fly high and be with like-minded individuals that truly appreciate the art of movies. All of the madness and fun will take place in Austin, TX starting on September 20th and run for 10 days at the Alamo Drafthouse on South Lamar St. This year, which is the 14th annual festival of Fantastic-ness, captures the essence of the Korean movie scene with a ton of cool films being showcased from Korea, both new and old. This is something you won’t want to miss.

The second wave of movies (1st wave can be seen here) –  has been announced, including the US Premiere of the upcoming sequel ‘HALLOWEEN‘ from director David Gordon Green, starring Jamie Lee Curtis, who reprises her iconic role as Laurie Strode. In addition to that, Jeremy Saulnier‘s new film ‘HOLD THE DARK‘, will have its US Premiere at the festival. Also, Gaspar Noe’s newest movie ‘CLIMAX‘, will be shown too. This is shaping up to be an amazing festival. Below is the complete list of the second wave.

Frank Zappa fans have something to look forward to on the big screen and home video. There is a new feature length documentary called ‘Summer 82 – When Zappa Came to Sicily‘ that will be released and screened in theaters. Frank Zappa was one of the coolest people on the planet and one of the best musicians in the history of music. His only Grammy award was for his classical album, but if you know anything about Zappa, he wasn’t much known for classical music. The documentary will feature some never-before-seen concert and backstage footage, along with interviews with the band, family members, concert goers, and more. I can’t wait to see this.

Film Review: Dan Dream!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 26th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

From the creative duo that brought us ‘Klovn’ and ‘Klown‘, comes their next twisted comedy with a ton of heart called ‘Dan Dream‘, that tells the true life story of the world’s first electric car. If you’ve ever had the privilege to watch ‘Klown‘, then you know about the off-beat humor of the Danish team Casper Christensen and Frank Hvam have owned since they stepped into the film world. With their silly bodily humor, they still manage to tell engaging and heart felt stories. Dan Dream is no different and has shades of ‘Little Miss Sunshine‘ throughout. Casper and Frank, who also star in the film, have perfectly captured this small moment in history with all its glory and warts in their unique brand of of comedy that includes butts and poop.

Movie Quotes

Narrator:
Oh, yeah, Chloe... Chloe looked the way Meryl Streep's skeleton would look if you made it smile and walk around the party being extra nice to everybody.
Chloe:
Well, I'm still here. But I don't know for how long. That's as much certainty as anyone can give me. But I've got some good news: I no longer have any fear of death. But... I am in a pretty lonely place. No-one will have sex with me. I'm so close to the end and all I want is to get laid for the last time. I have pornographic movies in my apartment, and lubricants, and amyl nitrite...
[the group leader takes the mic]
Group Leader:
Thank you, Chloe... everyone, let's thank Chloe.
