Hi, Bryan Here….

Remember that awesome trailer for the zombie video game ‘Dead Island’?  This will refresh your memory.  Well the good and talented folks over at Deep Silver and TechLand have a new game in the same universe.  It’s called ‘Riptide’ and looks just a s good as the first game.  From the website, “They thought they had escaped the terrors of Banoi and survived the apocalypse on a corrupted paradise. Then their fate took a turn for the worse… The Dead Island heroes escaped in a helicopter to the safety of a military ship, but when a furious storm hits and the virus suddenly spreads throughout the crew, the nightmare starts all over again, leaving hope drowning in the rising tides.”

Dan M., here….

Screen Shot 2017-05-23 at 10.54.40 AM

The fifth installment of Disney’s nearly $4 billion dollar franchise is a Pirates movie through and through. It is about 20 minutes too long, has a needlessly complex plot, fantastic action set pieces, and way too many characters. I found it to be a real roller coaster viewing experience, where some points I was loving every single second of what was on screen and others I wanted to check my phone to see how much longer was left. There were no scenes in this entire movie that I was just ‘Ok’ with. I was either loving it or tolerating it. When it was all over I was pleased with the ending and, more importantly, that it ended.

‘Deadpool’ Delivers Two New Trailers for the Holidays!

by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 25th, 2015

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

deadpool1-gallery-image

This holiday season, ‘Deadpool‘ has been giving us a ton of promo videos for his new movie and this new brand new trailer. Or shall I say, trailers (plural). These ‘Deadpool‘ trailers show us a good deal of new footage with better glimpses of Colossus and other characters. This will be very different for Marvel and I just know it will do well, despite this being a rated ‘R’ movie. Enjoy the holiday and watch these two ‘Deadpool‘ trailers. One is the Green Band trailer and the other is the NSFW Red Band trailer with tons of fun moments.

Hey guys, Jana here,

boondock_saints1

TV can make the unlikeliest of people stars and sometimes they just reiterate what we’ve known all along and prove to us who the stars really have been the whole time. Nothing shows this more clearly than AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead‘ and it’s star Norman Reedus. Reedus landed on my radar in 1999 when I first peeped one of the greatest films in the world, ‘The Boondock Saints‘, when he showed the world what a pair of Irish brothers can do when they’re on a mission from God. I’ve been watching Reedus since then through ‘Blade II‘, ‘The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day‘ and onto TWD and every film or TV role in between, no matter how small.

Hey guys, Jana here,

Mockingbird-Lance-Hunter-Agen

Fans of the hit Marvel series, ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ can rejoice that two of the strongest characters from the series, Barbara Morse, better known as Mockingbird and Lance Hunter are back in the prime position of carrying their own series, whether or not it will be a “spinoff” of ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘ still remains to be seen, but Marvel’s ‘Most Wanted‘ is definitely a go for pilot. Whether or not fans do a lot of rejoicing having two fan favorites taken from Agents is definitely going to rub some fans the wrong way, while other will embrace it fully.

If you watched the season 5 finale of  AMC’sWalking Dead‘ you caught the first teaser for ‘Into the Badlands‘, a new genre-bending martial arts series that will make it’s home at the innovative cabler in the fall which left it’s tagline of “There is no god in the Badlands”. It’s a good hook to be sure, and that was enough to pique interest until yesterday morning at the entertainment mecca that is San Diego Comic-Con where a clip was presented with cast members participating in a panel discussion.

Hillary T., Here…

Joe Pilato, Terry Alexander and Jarlath Conroy all starred in a George Romero’s horror staple “Day of the Dead.” They set the standard for so many future zombie movies (Shaun of the Dead, Zombieland, and Return of the Living Dead to name a few. Not to mention AMC’s hit show The Walking Dead) and are innovators of their time. They worked with the godfather of zombie horror George Romero, as well as special effects master Tom Savini. Recently they reunited at Fan Expo Dallas to talk with Amanda Rebholz of Morbid Curiousity Magazine and share what it was like to be a part of horror history!

‘Ash Vs. Evil Dead’ Teaser Trailer is Here! Groovy!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 29th, 2015

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

ash-vs-evil-dead-slice-600x200

You know how Bruce Campbell always said “Don’t ask about ‘Evil Dead IV’, because it isn’t happening?” Well, don’t take that to the bank, because it is definitely happening in the form of a TV series called ‘Ash vs. Evil Dead‘ for the Starz network. The show will star Bruce Campbell as Ash again and is a sequel to ‘Army of Darkness‘ (the best film ever made). This teaser trailer doesn’t show much, but it does have blood and a chainsaw in it, plus Campbell’s voice, which makes me all sorts of giddy. The series is shooting in New Zealand right now, and we expect more videos very soon. We can’t wait.

In the land of remakes, there is one bright spot that hasn’t been touched, yet. Yet is the key word in that sentence. The iconic film ‘The Crow‘, Brandon Lee cemented his popularity with his portrayal of Eric Draven, the tragic hero of a dark film that, at it’s heart, is a vigilante tale. Director Corin Hardy (‘The Hallow‘) is planning to remake the film, which has a loyal cult following, and he has already cast his Eric.

Hey guys, Jana here,

pirates-of-THE-caribbean-logo

I love Johnny Depp and I loved a few of the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean‘ films with Depp’s interpretation of the complete wild card that is Captain Jack Sparrow. I watched the next two installments and loved the new element that came to play as we met Davy Jones, his crew and the legend built as we saw our heroes fight to take the tentacled captain down. I was getting bored with the third film as the crew searched for Captain Jack. I rolled my eyes when ‘On Stranger Tides‘ brought the noticeable absence of Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley, but replaced the girl power with Penelope Cruz. I’ve tried dozens of times to watch that film and have never once made it all the way through it. I knew that sequel was the beginning of the end of a fun franchise. Disney didn’t get the memo.

Movie Quotes

Zeus Carver:
Why do you keep calling me Jésus? Do I look Puerto Rican to you?
John McClane:
Guy back there called you Jésus.
Zeus Carver:
He didn't say Jésus. He said, "Hey, Zeus!" My name is Zeus.
John McClane:
Zeus?
Zeus Carver:
Yeah, Zeus! As in, father of Apollo? Mt. Olympus? Don't fuck with me or I'll shove a lightning bolt up your ass? Zeus! You got a problem with that?
John McClane:
No, I don't have a problem with that.
