Comic-Con is THE entertainment spot of the universe and if you’re one of the lucky ones in attendance, you are guaranteed to see the latest and greatest the movie world has to offer. For years, we’ve waited for this event to see the newest trailers for the most anticipated films during their respective panel  presentations. This year was no different, and fans were treated to, among others, ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice‘, ‘Suicide Squad‘, ‘X-Men: Apocalypse‘ and the hottest trailer from the con, ‘Deadpool‘. I have been scanning the net ever since those panels ended looking for the studios mainstream release of the trailers to bring to you, and they’re curiously absent.

If you watched the season 5 finale of  AMC’sWalking Dead‘ you caught the first teaser for ‘Into the Badlands‘, a new genre-bending martial arts series that will make it’s home at the innovative cabler in the fall which left it’s tagline of “There is no god in the Badlands”. It’s a good hook to be sure, and that was enough to pique interest until yesterday morning at the entertainment mecca that is San Diego Comic-Con where a clip was presented with cast members participating in a panel discussion.

SDCC may have come to an end, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t a few secrets still left in the movie world. Fans got the treat of seeing the first ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1‘ trailer that wasn’t made up of random Capitol propaganda. Hi, Bryan Here…

Sam Raimi’s take on the ‘Wizard of Oz’ universe is taking shape nicely.  By the trailer, you can definitely tell people who work with Tim Burton are working on this film with Raimi.  When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot-fame and fortune are his for the taking-that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity-and even a bit of wizardry-Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well. It looks good and I hope it is.  The film will open March 8th, 2013.

‘Westworld’ Season 2 Looks Bloodier Than Ever!!!

It was bursting beyond capacity while we waited for him to take the stage and he was funny, sincere and everyone’s best friend, just like we all expected him to be. I can’t believe it’s happening, but Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer seem to be more than just vacationing buddies, as of late, they’re writing partners! It even gets better than that, the project they’ve been tearing through is a vehicle that will put the goofy, hilarious duo together on-screen, as well, sisters at that! Is this a new incarnation of the Tina Fey/Amy Poehler dynamic?

We’ve reported before that Bruce Campbell and Wizard World have collaborated in bringing ‘Last Fan Standing‘, a game show for the nerds among us to life. It makes Comic-Cons more awesome because that’s where they film, and it makes reality TV so much more fun as it’s part of Wizard World’s ConTV. Bruce has run into a problem and needs our help though!

Hey guys, Jana here,

old_man_logan___inked___turner___egli_by_surftiki_by_confuciusretaliation-d663hul

San Diego Comic-Con is all I’ve been talking about the last week, and with good reason! The epic trailers, the cast surprises, the tidbits of info that have been, previously, safely guarded. This week gives us a fantastic peek into the next year or two of film and gets us stoked for those release dates. One of the most exciting bits of information came from Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman. He gave us three words that sent fans everywhere into a frenzied sort of glee as to what ‘Wolverine 3‘ could entail, myself included, those words were “Old. Man. Logan.” Boom!

Season 1 of ‘Gotham’ Coming To DVD and Blu-Ray!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Jun 15th, 2015

Hey guys, Jana here,

1000543313BRDLEFO_9392df82

Following the current trend of superhero antics on the big and small screens, Warner Bros. stepped up their game by offering ‘Gotham‘, an intimate look at James Gordon before Batman, covering his rise to power in the Gotham police force. Circle September 8 on your calendar, then get ready to relive a series that is sans the bat, but not without the boy, Bruce Wayne. I was skeptical of the success the series would have by benching the caped crusader who is instantly recalled when most hear the name ‘Gotham‘, but season 1 has proven the city is big enough for all variety of heroes and villains.

Hey guys, Jana here with more Wizard World Tulsa news!

william-shatner-sfSpan

I had the pleasure of sitting in on William Shatner’s panel on Saturday 11-8-14 that included a Q&A with fans. He was a remarkable speaker, very engaging with the audience and truly loved the chance to be there. The ballroom his panel was held in was packed to capacity with every manner of attendee imaginable. When he was introduced, there was an electric buzz in the room that was entirely palpable. The hype was broken only when he was announced as a musician. Once he took the stage, he seemed in his element, comfortable and right at home. He jumped directly into fan questions.

Disney and Marvel did a little bit of juggling today when a poor version of next summer’s anticipated blockbuster sequel, ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ was the target of a leaked trailer. Their response to the non-sanctioned release? Giving us an official version! ABC’s ‘Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ was going to be the host for the hotly anticipated superhero flick less than a week from now, but an insider jumped the gun. Bruce Campbell Will Star in ‘Evil Dead’ Series!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Jul 29th, 2014
Hey guys, Jana here,

evil-dead-2-crazy-ash-27

Looks like Sam Raimi was holding a little something back when he spoke about his ‘Last Of Us‘ project at Comic-Con. Raimi was excited about his new project, and added a little info that he and his brother, Ivan Raimi were co-writing ‘The Evil Dead‘ TV show with Bruce Campbell. While this is  great news for fans of ‘The Evil Dead‘, it managed to get even better. How could this get better? Campbell, who was the star of the original trilogy, confirmed on Twitter that he intends to star in the series!

Comic-Con gives and it just keeps giving. This time they gave us the red-band trailer for ‘Sin City: A Dame To Kill For‘. ‘Sin City‘ from 2005 and based on Frank Miller’s graphic novels, was a groundbreaking hit. Now Co-directors Robert Rodriguez and Miller have joined forces once again to give us the next chapter in the tale of the inhabitants of Basin City. ‘Sin City: A Dame To Kill For‘ gives us more of Miller’s riveting storytelling and a lot more of the stylized violence the first installment was packed full of.

Hey everyone, Jana here,

Comic-Con isn’t a place where only huge bombs of information get dropped, it’s also chock-full of fans spreading rumors like the wildfires that all too often consume the San Diego area anyway. Seems like one of the biggest rumors surrounded the potential casting for a Marvel Studios property, ‘Doctor Strange‘. Fans have been dropping names like Tom Hardy, Jared Leto and Benedict Cumberbatch in mass conversations that branched out until at least a few of the names were being taken as gospel truth. I’ve got the answer, kids, and it’s NOT Cumberbatch.

So we’ve known for a while that there is going to be a re-make of the Marvel superhero ‘Daredevil‘. We know that Marvel has partnered with Netflix to bring us a 13-episode drama based on the comic book stories of the blind, lawyer from Hell’s Kitchen.

We’ve known for a while that Charlie Cox (‘Boardwalk Empire‘) is going to play the eponymous Matt Murdock/Daredevil, and that Vincent D’Onofrio (‘Law and Order‘)  is going to play the juxtapositional Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin. Today, we’ve gotten some more casting news. Deborah Ann Woll, Jessica from ‘True Blood‘ has been given the role of Karen Page.

More Dallas Comic Con 2014 Coverage – The Event!!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 19th, 2014

Rebecca S. Here…

Dallas-Comic-Con-2014

This year’s Dallas Comic Con has come to a close and if you missed it- you missed a lot. This year’s Con was help at the massive Dallas Convention Center, while previous years were held at the (fun, but ridiculously laid out) Irving convention Center. The change to the larger venue effected everyone’s attitude toward the weekend. Having, almost, everything in the same area of one floor was a welcome change. The downfall here is that the site was so big and there was very little (read: no) signage to let people know where the different events were being held.
