by Gumbercules9000 on Nov 8th, 2017

The first trailer and poster for the film ‘The Post‘ is standing straight up. It’s a big deal, because it has Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep in the lead roles with Steven Spielberg in the director’s chair. That’s a powerhouse right there. The film will release on December 22nd, just in time for the holidays, but really, they want to get it in for Oscar consideration. The film releases everywhere next year on January 12. In addition to Hanks and Streep, the film stars Alison Brie, Carrie Coon, David Cross, Bruce Greenwood, Tracy Letts, Bob Odenkirk, Sarah Paulson, Jesse Plemons, Matthew Rhys, Michael Stuhlbarg, Bradley Whitford, and Zach Woods.

Hi, Bryan Here….

robopocalypse

Here is a bit of unfortunate news.  Spielberg has been working on his next directorial effort on the heels of his award winning film ‘Lincoln‘, which is an “end of the world’ type of scenario called ‘Robopocalypse‘.  That film has been put on an indefinite hold, according to a source close to the project.  The film would center on the destruction of the human race caused by a robot uprising.  And the film was an adaptation of Daniel H. Wilson’s novel of the same name.

Check Out The Trailer for Spielberg’s ‘Lincoln’!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 13th, 2012

Hi, Bryan Here….

So we just finished the little Q&A with Steven Spielberg and Joseph Gordon-Levitt through Google+ where they answered people’s questions about the upcoming film.  And they also debuted the full trailer for the film, which looks AMAZING.  It will win Oscars.  The trailer is below and comes out November 9th, which is my birthday. Steven Spielberg directs Daniel Day-Lewis in “Lincoln,” a revealing drama that focuses on the 16th President’s tumultuous final months in office. In a nation divided by war and the strong winds of change, Lincoln pursues a course of action designed to end the war, unite the country and abolish slavery. With the moral courage and fierce determination to succeed, his choices during this critical moment will change the fate of generations to come.

Check Out Spielberg’s Trailer for ‘War Horse’!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 30th, 2011

Hi Bryan Here….

Here is a film from director Steven Spielberg that “follows a young man named Albert and his horse, Joey, and how their bond is broken when Joey is sold to the cavalry and sent to the trenches of World War One. Despite being too young to enlist, Albert heads to France to save his friend.”  Don’t know too much about it other than that.  We will see.  This comes out late this year.  Plus get a hilarious snap judgement from our own Sparky Shagwell.

Hi Bryan Here….

David Strathairn is the latest actor to join Spielberg’s ‘Lincoln’ film.  David Strathairn was in ‘Good Night, and Good Luck’ amongst tons of other films.  He joins Daniel Day Lewis and Sally Field.  Lewis will play Lincoln and Field will play Mary Todd Lincoln.  Strathairn will play William Seward, Abraham Lincoln’s Secretary of State, an outspoken abolitionist and a core member of Lincoln’s wartime cabinet.  The film will begin production in the Fall in Virginia for a 2012 release.  Shaping up nicely wouldn’t you say??

Your thoughts?

Spielberg’s Next Movie Will Be……

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 22nd, 2010

Steven Spielberg’s next project he will direct will be “ROBOPOCALYPSE”  which is based on an upcoming novel written by Daniel H. Wilson.  The book is set to hit shelves on June 7, 2011 which you can pre order by clicking HERE.

It is a story about humanity trying to survive a robot/android uprising.  Sounds familiar.

Drew Goddard will pen the screenplay.  Goddard’s previous work includes: Buffy, Alias, Lost, Cloverfield, and Angel.

They anticipate a 2013 release for this movie.  After all, Spielberg has got his TinTin films coming out before then.

Click the link/picture below to pre-order the book.  I’m looking forward to reading this.

Blu-ray Review: ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 2nd, 2018

Jurassic World‘ burst onto the scene as a sequel/reboot hybrid film that made over $1.6 billion at the box office. Of course, there would be more, but at what cost? ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom‘ takes place a year or so after the events of the first film where the island where the theme park and dinosaurs were on are ravaged by an exploding volcano. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard team up again to save the dinosaurs, however they are misled by a maniacal businessman who has other plans for the dinosaurs, mostly being selling them at an auction to warlords across the country in hopes of turning these dinosaurs into military killing machines with freaking lasers attached to their heads for a profit. I’m not making this up.

4K UHD Review: ‘Ready Player One’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jul 18th, 2018

THE FILM

One of the most anticipated movies of the year is finally upon us with Steven Spielberg’s return to the fantasy/sci-fi realm in ‘Ready Player One‘, which is based on the pop-culture fandom novel from 2011 of the same name by author Ernest Cline. The novel was a best-seller and was chock-full of the 1980s and 1990s references in the form of video games, movies, TV shows, and more. in fact, every page of the book was like reading a nostalgic diary of your past childhood favorite things. ‘Ready Player One‘ takes places a few decades into the future where a simulated and very realistic virtual reality game is the main form of entertainment where people put on goggles and can be anyone or anything they want.

THE FILMS

Presented here in 4K UHD are the first 4 ‘Jurassic Park‘ films, including ‘Jurassic Park‘, ‘Jurassic Park 2: The Lost World‘, ‘Jurassic Park 3‘, and ‘Jurassic World‘, which came out only a couple of years ago. Back in 1993, Steven Spielberg gave us the world of dinosaurs in such a moving, emotional, and entertaining way, that his first film ‘Jurassic Park‘, became a milestone in filmmaking and paved the way for a ton of creative minds over the next few years. With a mix of practical effects and state-of-the-art CGI effects, Spielberg and his crew of filmmakers created dinosaurs all over again, which became a huge phenomenon.

Dan Moran’s ‘Ready Player One’ Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Mar 29th, 2018

Ready Player One” or “I, Spy: The Movie” is a delivery vehicle for people who need validation through nostalgia. The problem is that despite how hard it tries to milk enjoyment out of its constant nods to pop culture, it fails to say anything that’s worth remembering.
