NBC Drops The Axe on TV’s ‘Hannibal’!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Jun 23rd, 2015

Hey guys, Jana here,

Hannibal-Cast-Promotional-Photos-hannibal-tv-series-33869744-600-449

It looks like NBC is only going to let us get so close to the fictional serial killer, Hannibal Lecter as they’ve canceled Bryan Fuller’s ‘Silence of the Lambs’ prequel, ‘Hannibal‘ after only three seasons. The current season will run its full 13-episode course in the same time slot concluding on August 27. The reason why isn’t merely based on flagging viewer numbers, though, as most shows given the guillotine are guilty of, it’s a rights issue.

Hi, Bryan Here….

Coming from way out of left-field, the Lifetime channel is working on a project called ‘Clarice’ a drama thriller based on Clarice Starling from ‘Silence of the Lambs’.  Jodie Foster originally played Clarice in the film and won the Oscar for Best Actress.  ‘Clarice’ would follow the exploits of a young Clarice Starling soon after she graduates from the FBI academy.

Fox to Take On Hannibal! …Burress. From Jonah Hill!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 13th, 2011

The Bishop Charlotte Reporting….

(Warning: You’re not getting through this article without cannibal jokes.)

Fox has bought Jonah Hill’s sitcom, starring stand-up comedian Hannibal Burress, with a blind script commitment plus penalty. The format – single- or multi-camera – has not yet been determined, but the show will bring Burress’ performing chops to television for the first time. Burress has written episodes of both Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock (and there have been no strange disappearances from either) as well as stood up for Comedy Central and David Letterman, but has not yet had his own shtick in a sitcom.

Syfy’s ‘Tremors’ Series Bid Secures Director!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Aug 23rd, 2017

Hey guys, Jana here,

So we’ve known for a little while that Syfy has teamed up with horror giant Blumhouse to give Kevin Bacon a series based on one of Bacon’s most iconic movie roles – ‘Tremors‘. The project has not only got the footloose and fancy free (See what I did there?) Bacon attached, but now there is a director on board in the form of Vincenzo Natali (‘Hannibal‘)

Film Review #2: Spider-Man: Homecoming!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jul 7th, 2017

Dan M., here….

Spider-Man: Homecoming is a really good “Marvel” (too lazy to explain all the Sony stuff) movie that is hopefully the breath of fresh air the MCU needs. It had much smaller stakes, much more realized supporting cast and World that they operated in, a good villain that made sense, and a finale that didn’t turn into a $45million CGI punching. If the future of the solo Marvel films is going to be smaller universe conflicts that are more narrowly focused like this and Ant-Man? I am here for it. Leave space to Guardians & Thor, the end of the World to the Avengers, and weird dimensions to Doctor Strange. Give me low level criminals that Spider-Man has to fight before a math test to break those huge films up any day of the week.

Film Review: BAYWATCH!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 23rd, 2017

Dan M., here….

baywatccast

We need to get one thing straight as we start this review. Baywatch is not a movie to be judged on it’s plot. This movie exists in the same realm as Horrible Bosses, Spy, We’re The Millers, 21 Jump Street, & Neighbors. It has just enough plot so that it can get from joke to joke or gag to gag as efficiently as possible. It succeeds in this regard and has a really high “joke landing” percentage. More importantly, as a vehicle for unbelievably attractive people to let loose and be funny, Baywatch goes above and beyond. It is a showcase for these actors to show they’re really, really funny.

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

Screen Shot 2017-03-15 at 12.42.22 PM

I now know what I’ll be doing at the end of April. I’ll be watching Starz’s new show ‘American Gods‘, which is the adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s book. Bryan Fuller (‘Hannibal‘, ‘Pushing Daisies‘) is the showrunner here with Ian McShane, Kristen Chenoweth, Peter Stormare, Crispin Glover, Pablo Schreiber, Ricky Whittle, and more starring. There are monsters, blood, violence, and Gods here. I can’t wait.

4K UHD Review: ‘Pacific Rim’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 25th, 2016

Hi everyone, Bryan here…

71ulqqm0dl-_sl1127_

THE FILM

Robots, monsters, and Ron Perlman. Oh my. Director Guillermo Del Toro has given us a movie that we’ve all wanted to see since we were five years old. In an action-packed and brilliant special effects film, we have giant 30-story robots fighting vicious mega monsters on Earth. Guillermo was the perfect person for this project as he is a fan of genre films and can tell a great story with flawless structure and good acting, while mixing in loud and vibrating action sequences. ‘Pacific Rim‘ movies fast and will keep you on your toes till the very end.

Get To LA For A ‘Carrie’ Prom Themed Fundraiser!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Sep 14th, 2016

Hey guys, Jana here,

carrie-blu-ray-ce-01

It’s hard to believe, but ‘Carrie‘ is celebrating 40 years in an epic way. What’s a more apropos way to mark 40 years of a prom-related movie, than with a 1970s prom-themed fan event and fundraiser that combines a screening with a reunion of the cast and crew?!
