It was only a matter of time, since Jon Bernthal’s ‘Punisher‘ in the second season of ‘Daredevil‘ was so hugely popular, hence Netflix has just announced that ‘Punisher’ will have its own series. They have tried to do ‘The Punisher’ over the years, first being with Dolph Lundgren back in the 80s. I still have a soft spot for that movie. Then there was the Thomas Jane films, which could have been amazing and a few scenes had their moments, but it was mostly laughable. Put in a few other projects in the mix and you would have a sub-par Punisher movie realm.
That all ended when we saw Jon Bernthal play Punisher in the ‘Daredevil‘ Netflix series. They just got it right on the money. I wonder who will be the bad guy and I’m curious how many crossovers we will see here. I for one am looking forward to this. Steve Lightfoot (Hannibal) will serve as the showrunner.
