Scream Factory is releasing ‘Manhunter‘ in Collector’s Edition form on May 24th on Blu-ray with a ton of new extras. Do you remember ‘Manhunter’ from 1986? It had a hell of a cast and featured the character Hannibal Lektor for the first time on screen. Yes, even before he rose to superstardom in ‘Silence of the Lambs‘. This film also had a killer soundtrack as well. Below is the press release and all the info you will need on the release. Can’t wait for May 24th.

Tom Noonan (Heat, Robocop 2), Joan Allen (The Bourne Legacy), Dennis Farina (Get Shorty), Kim Greist (Brazil) and Stephen Lang (Avatar) co-star in this gripping thriller from director Michael Mann (Heat, Miami Vice) and adapted from the novel Red Dragon by Thomas Harris.

The first film to feature the iconic character Hannibal Lecktor, Manhunter follows former FBI profiler Will Graham (William Petersen, To Live and Die in L.A., CSI: Crime Scene Investigation) as he reluctantly returns to his old job to track a horrific serial killer known as the “Tooth Fairy.” But in order to get into the mind of this maniac, Graham must face another: Lecktor (Brian Cox, X-Men 2, Red), the imprisoned psychiatrist whose own insanity almost cost Graham his life… and whose insights into the “Tooth Fairy” could prove as dangerous as the killer himself.

Manhunter [Collector’s Edition] includes the new interviews The Mind of Madness – an interview with William Petersen, Courting a Killer – an interview with actress Joan Allen, Francis is Gone Forever – an interview with actor Tom Noonan, The First Lecktor – an interview with actor Brian Cox, The Eye of the Storm – an interview with director of photography Dante Spinotti, and The Music of MANHUNTER – including interviews with composer Michel Rubini, Barry Andrews (Shriekback), Gary Putman (The Prime Movers), Rick Shaffer (The Reds) and Gene Stashuk (Red 7).

Movie Quotes

Jesse James:
[Jesse has given Bob a gun as a gift] You know what John Newman Edwards once wrote about me? He said I didn't trust two men in ten thousand and was even cautious around them. The government's sort of run me ragged. I'm going the long way around the barn to say I've been feeling cornered and just plain ornery of late and I'd be pleased if you'd accept the gun as my way of apologizing.
Robert Ford:
Heaven knows I'd be ornerier if I were in your position.
Jesse James:
No. I haven't been acting correctly. I can't hardly recognize myself sometimes when I'm greased. I go on journeys out of my body and look at my red hands and my mean face and I wonder about that man who's gone so wrong. I've been becoming a problem to myself.
