Hey guys, Jana here,

benghazi_victims_for_site

There are directors that you want telling the heart-wrenchingly true stories based on fact. Spielberg was unflinchingly loyal to history when he made ‘Schindler’s List‘ and ‘Saving Private Ryan‘. Mel Gibson brought the history of William Wallace to life as he led the Scots in revolt against England in ‘Braveheart‘. Ridley Scott dove into the horrific tale of ‘Blackhawk Down‘ and pulled no punches with the details. ‘Act of Valor‘, ‘Zero Dark Thirty‘ and ‘Lone Survivor’ are all cut from the same cloth as the previously mentioned films. The memory and honor of the dead lives on through these fact-based projects. One name you won’t see at the top of my wish list to direct a piece like these is Michael Bay.

Hi, Bryan Here…

tmnt-godzilla-noah-gotg-interstellar-the-best-upcoming-movies-august-8-2014

Well we finally have a trailer for the new ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles‘ film, which Michael Bay is producing with Jonathan Liebesman  directing. Plot synopsis: The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April O’Neil (Megan Fox) and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett) to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan. This doesn’t look great, but one can hope, right? Enjoy the trailer.

Hi, Bryan Here….

So, Michael Bay and his Platinum Dunes studios will be producing the new live action TMNT film that will come out on Christmas of 2013.  Michael Bay feels the need to change the origin story and make the turtles aliens from another planet.  I mean, the origin story is pretty clear of the turtles.  A chemically engineered ooze spilled over the turtles and they transformed into what they are.  Splinter (the rat who was covered in the ooze as well) taught the turtles karate and they grew up to be crime fighters and eat pizza.

Hi Bryan Here….

You know what’s awful?  Writing two stories back to back about Michael Bay.  But I guess, he is unstoppable right now.  In addition to the 4th ‘Transformers’ film, Michael Bay will be directing ‘Pain and Gain’.  Yeah you read that right.  What a shitty title.  The film will star Marky Mark of the Funky Bunch and the People’s Champ, Dwayne The Rock Johnson.

Hi Bryan Here…

At least Bay won’t be directing the film.  But this is as cool of news as you will ever get.  The comic book, “Zombies VS Robots” has been picked up by Michael Bay’s company, Platinum Dines and Sony Pictures to adapt into a feature film according to Deadline.  Buy the comics HERE.

Hellboy (2019) – Film Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Apr 11th, 2019

“Hellboy (2019) is a waste of time, money, and talent on every level.”

Hellboy has long been a favorite of mine since I first read his comics many years ago. The whole fascination with his character, where he came from, and the mysterious organization that tracks and investigates paranormal activity called the B.P.R.D. was truly captivating. Several years ago, filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro (Blade II, Pan’s Labyrinth, The Shape of Water) got to make two Hellboy films, which he had stated was his favorite comic book. He brought Hellboy and the world he lived into to life that displayed all of the charm, magic, wonder, story, and development of each character perfectly. Literally none of those aspects are in this 2019 reboot of the iconic character. Hellboy (2019) is a waste of time, money, and talent on every level.

‘Bumblebee: Film Review!!

by Janet White on Dec 22nd, 2018

Hello Everyone, Janet W. here…

B-127 is a film that is centered on one of the most beloved Transformers. Most people love Optimus Prime and a few “special” people love Megatron, however, B-127 is cooler than them both without question. B-127…you know whom that is, right? Bumblebee formerly known B-127 was sent to Earth under the order of Optimus Prime as its protector. Bumblebee landed on Earth and immediately into battle as well. A Decepticon pounced on Bumblebee and robbed him of his voice communications module. One additional hardship befalls Bumblebee as his memory is corrupted and amnesia weighs him down to an infant child. Plot sound familiar? Read the rest of this entry »

Film Review: ‘The Road Movie’ (2018)!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 16th, 2018

Big budget action blockbusters don’t have shit on this documentary, simply titled ‘The Road Movie‘. Russian filmmaker Dmitirii Kalashnikov has expertly edited a treasure trove of what acts as the ‘Best Of” YouTube videos of Russian dashboard vehicle cameras that showcase the crazy, sick, and depraved of the Russian highways and city streets. We’ve all seen a few short 10-second clips of a car crash or some crazy Russian guy getting out of his car with a weapon over small traffic dispute.

A Retrospective Look Back at the year 2007 in Movies!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 20th, 2017

Written by: Dan Moran

It has been a decade since we have had an overwhelmingly great year of movies. There have been some ‘great movies’ for sure, that have been released since 2007, but a collective year of dominance like 2007 hasn’t been experienced in 10 years. We have to start with the films that people still talk about today from 2007. No Country for Old Men, There Will Be Blood, & Zodiac. I mean what a Top 3 for one calendar year!  The closest we got to this was in 2015 when the Top 3 was, Mad Max: Fury Road, Mad Max: Fury Road, & Mad Max: Fury Road.

Film Review: ‘[Transformers: The Last Knight]’

by Janet White on Jun 28th, 2017

Hello Everyone, Janet W. here…

Transformers The Last Knight - Prime

Exploding onto our screens without regard for the narrative or progressive plot structure, comes Transformers: The Last Knight.  True Michael Bay lovers could care less or would even notice the story’s lack of cohesion with this sequel.  They are there for the cool special effects, radical cinematography, and rich hues that make up Michael Bay’s style.

Film Review: Baby Driver!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 27th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

baby-driver-image-3

Finally, Edgar Wright has made a musical in the most Edgar Wright way. The film is called Baby Driver and is the most fun I’ve had at the movies all year long. When Wright makes a movie, you shut-up, listen, watch, and have a cold pint, because you’re in for a fun-as-hell thrill ride. With his highly impressive resume of films, including Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, The World’s End, and Scott Pilgrim vs The World, you quickly know that Wright is one of the coolest, best, and most fun filmmakers alive today.
