Misty S. Delivers Her Thoughts On ‘Grown Ups 2’!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jul 11th, 2013

Misty S., Here….

grown-ups-2-1

Adam Sandler, the founder of Happy Madison films, has used the same formula for every movie that he has ever done. He took some of his unknown buddies that have all started in his first movie “Billy Madison” and every movie since, combined with his ‘Saturday Night Live‘ buddies and throws in some big guest appearances for added entertainment to create a comedic movie that all will love and flock to go see in the theaters. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn’t. This time, though, it did better than I expected it to. ‘Grown Ups 2‘, the obvious sequel to ‘Grown Ups‘, came and delivered, even with all the press and hype to it. This movie is not really a sequel since it can be watched without seeing the first one, but when one does not know what to call a “sequel”, just add a #2 to it. Adam Sandler, David Spade, Chris Rock and Kevin James have the chemistry and natural banter, like they had in the first one, that makes the movie ebb and flow without hardly any slow or unfunny scenes to sit through. There are, however, the same jokes that you see in all of the Happy Madison films and even on ‘Saturday Night Live‘. This is the type of film that when you walk into it, you are already knowledgeable of what is going to happen.

Angelic Heel Here…

Due to Snowmageddon, WWE had no choice but to cancel the RAW live event just 24 hours after one of the most controversial Royal Rumble pay per views in recent memory. Even though Hartford, CT would not be the scene of destruction it was meant to be, it was declared that the show must go on, and it did from the WWE Headquarters in Stamford, CT. The WWE Universe was addressed by the WWE Superstars that they were dying to hear from following the Royal Rumble event, and those who missed it, got treated to the Royal Rumble match itself (shown in its entirety) and the Triple Threat match for the World Heavy Weight Title (best match of the night.) Who had what to say and to whom? Let’s find out!

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment presents a movie almost as big as the man himself, ‘Killing Hasselhoff‘ arrives on DVD and Digital August 29, 2017. Starring David Hasselhoff (‘Baywatch‘) and Ken Jeong (‘The Hangover‘) in the most hilarious and outrageous comedy of the year.

Hello, Jana here,

25920683ce_34727209_o2

You have probably heard about the new Adam Sandler and Kevin James venture ‘Pixels‘. Don’t write this one off just because you see their names on the starring list. I know many subscribe to the theory that their comedic talents are past their prime and they give us nothing new but vapid buffoonery. I like slapstick comedy, I like the obvious joke. I appreciated the originality of ‘Grown Ups‘ and groaned with the rest of you at the dreck that was ‘Grown Ups 2‘. But I think they have a quality that works when they team up together.

Chris Columbus is one of my favorite directors, with good reason, he directed ‘Adventures in Babysitting‘, ‘Home Alone‘, ‘Mrs. Doubtfire‘, the first two ‘Harry Potter‘ films and a great stage to big screen adaptation of ‘Rent‘. If Chris Columbus had a hand in the film, chances are I’ll love it.

The Worst Films of the Year!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 22nd, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here….

www.indiewire

Tis the season to be merry is not on our radar, well at least not this episode. Instead of doing the best movies of 2013, we are going to let you in on the worst movies of 2013. Don’t worry, we will get to the Best ones next week, but let us roll around in the dirty and horrible films that came out this year, and boy, were there many. From ‘Grown Ups 2‘ to ‘Gangster Squad‘ to ‘Only God Forgives‘, there was plenty of slop to go around. A couple of the podcasters even thought some of the good movies of this year were some of the worst, which resulted in a fight to the death and friendships lost. Enjoy this lively episode of The Worst Films of 2013.

One of the ticket packages includes a massage.

The festival has given us a complete lineup of films for their 2017 event and since I’m such a nice person it’s my job, I’m giving it to you.

Hey guys, Jana here,

Call-of-Cthulhu-The-Official-Video-Game-screenshot.jpg-

Have you ever questioned your own sanity? That’s a question the trailer asks and based on what it shows, I’d be doing a lot of questioning if it were me. The tone set is creepy and morose without being kitschy or gimmicky. I’m not a huge fan of big storyline games, but ‘Call of Cthulhu‘ for the PS4 just might be the one to change my mind. I love the macabre so of course this trailer speaks to me on several levels.

FILM REVIEW: “ZOOLOGY”

by Justin Cline on Sep 23rd, 2016

ZOOLOGY is the story of Natasha, an aging and lonely woman who recaptures some of her youth via a relationship with a much younger man. For all intents and purposes, it’s a story we’ve seen many times before, but with one key exception.

Marvel Comics has just announced a nationwide tour called ‘The Marvel Experience: The World’s First Hyper-Reality Tour‘. Despite the long name, this sounds like so much fun. Hey guys, Jana here,

HappyMadison

If anyone would have suggested that the mass of little red envelopes flooding the post would one day throw the entertainment industry in a tizzy, we’d have laughed at the possibility. That was 1997 and none of us had any idea of how big a shadow Netflix would end up casting. The SVOD dropped a Jaws-like bomb into the normally calm seas of the movie biz and set the choppy seas in motion by announcing their partnership with The Weinstein Company and IMAX to release ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend‘ on the same day for Netflix viewers and IMAX theaters. Not content to let the waters settle, Netflix has another partnership they want to share. The controversial company and Adam Sandler have entered a partnership that will feature a four-pack of films, starring Sandler of course, and produced under his Happy Madison banner that will go straight to the subscription members, no theater stops in between.

Hey guys, Jana here,

Bill_&_Ted

Every actor with any success has that one certain film that locks their position in the industry as a solid player and worthy of being called up to the show. Deciding which picture is the defining moment in their careers is always up for discussion. Tonight I’m talking about Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter. These two names have been paired since 1989 when they posed as Bill & Ted on an Excellent Adventure. In recent interviews, Winter gave out some details about the highly anticipated third film in the bodacious franchise! Before, we get to those, let’s talk about their careers.

John Stamos Thrusting Back To TV In Four Projects!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Sep 2nd, 2014

Hey guys, Jana here,

john stamos

John Stamos may be best known for his gig on ‘Full House‘ as Uncle Jesse, but it’s unfair to characterize his acting range by constantly putting him in that box. He’s still just as swoon-worthy as he was in the 80’s which has to help his bankability when he’s auditioning for a new role.

As of now, he’s got a couple of high-profile projects in the works. He’s currently the frontrunner as the male lead of ABC’s midseason drama series, ‘Members Only‘. The actor born with the last name Stamotopoulos (Thank God he shortened that one!) is looking to topline and executive produce the unnamed comedy series in the works, also with ABC Studios and will be working with comedy producer Dan Fogelman (‘The Neighbors‘).  Not to mention the most highly anticipated return to television of all – ‘Full House‘, which is in a reboot phase at Warner Bros. TV.

Film Review: ‘Blended’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 22nd, 2014

Hi everyone, Bryan Here….

Blended movie (2)

If twenty years ago, I were to tell you that when I mentioned the name Adam Sandler, you would have turned your nose up and scoffed, you probably wouldn’t believe me. There was a time when Adam Sandler’s name was the first thing you thought about when the subject of comedy came up. With his unforgettable characters on ‘SNL‘ to his hilarious comedy albums to his early films like ‘Billy Madison‘ and ‘Happy Gilmore‘, we all laughed our collective asses off at these films at some point in time with Sandler’s unique brand of humor.

Fox has hit the jackpot when it comes to casting this season. British writer-actor Nick Frost has officially signed on to co-star in ‘Sober Companion‘ with Justin Long. Frost is an extremely bankable commodity that automatically ups the production value of a project. He is normally seen co-starring with best friend and frequent collaborator Simon Pegg. The pair have given us The Cornetto Trilogy comprised of ‘Shaun of the Dead‘, ‘Hot Fuzz‘ and ‘The World’s End‘. They also starred together in ‘Paul‘ which the pair wrote together.

Film Review: ‘Visitors’!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Mar 14th, 2014

Hello Jana here,

detail.baa7b437

I always assumed reviewing films would be an extremely awesome thing to do for a living. I never took into account that you won’t always enjoy what you review. I can watch documentaries, I actually prefer them at times. National Geographic and Smithsonian documentaries are great! I love history, current events and learning about new weapons or drugs that are problems now. I don’t even require things being in English to enjoy them. I can read subtitles and if the actors are good enough I don’t even have to rely on subtitles.

Blu-Ray Review: ”Life of Pi’!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 8th, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here….

$T2eC16J,!)QE9s3HEE8GBRb99QWgl!~~_35

Ang Lee’s vision of Yann Martel’s 2001 novel, ‘Life of Pi’ is one of the most visually beautiful films I have seen in a long time. If this film was made back when the book came out, which was over ten years ago, the movie would not have been as beautiful as it was today, due to the technology advancements we’ve had in just ten short years.  ’Life of Pi’ is one of the better 3D productions I have seen and if you choose to see this movie, see it in 3D.  ’Life of Pi’ will appeal to all audiences and you will find yourself falling in love with Pi and a majestic Bengal tiger, even if ’Life of Pi’ is good for only one or two viewings.

Film Review: ‘After Earth’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 30th, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here….

After-Earth-Movie-Trailer-photo

After Earth‘ has a ton of good things going for it. We have Will Smith who has the largest box office draw in the business right now and his son Jaden Smith who has proven he has decent acting chops and can secure a decent crowd. This film also has a post apocalyptic scenario in the sci-fi genre that takes place on different planets in the far off future. Did I mention that it also has aliens, spaceships, and cool weaponry too? This is a perfect recipe for a potential massive summer blockbuster that could make over $1 billion. Despite these seemingly cool aspects, ‘After Earth‘ comes up short and never fully delivers the movie it should be.

It was so great to see this newly remastered ‘Peter Pan’ from Disney. The image is pristine and is the best this animated film has ever looked.  Plus, Disney decided to give it a 7.1 lossless DTS-HD audio mix, which just sounds amazing.  I can’t believe it has been since 1953 since we first watched this animated instant classic capture the hearts of many.  It’s truly remarkable to have this on blu-ray.

If you haven’ heard of ‘ParaNorman’, than you’re in for a real treat.  The new 3D stop-motion comedy thriller from animation company LAIKA, reteaming the company with Focus Features after the groundbreaking Academy Award-nominated “Coraline.” “ParaNorman” is, following “Coraline,” the company’s second stop-motion animated feature to be made in 3D. In “ParaNorman,” a small town comes under siege by zombies. Who can it call? Only misunderstood local boy Norman (voiced by Kodi Smit-McPhee), who is able to speak with the dead. In addition to the zombies, he’ll have to take on ghosts, witches and, worst, of all, grown-ups, to save his town from a centuries-old curse. But this young ghoul whisperer may find his paranormal activities pushed to their otherworldly limits.
