‘Frozen’ Director Picks Next Project!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Aug 7th, 2014

Hey guys, Jana here,

Chris-Buck-Jennifer-Lee-Golden-Globes-post

If you want to cherry pick your next project as a filmmaker, it helps to have an Oscar in your back pocket for the previous film. That’s what Jennifer Lee has to bargain with thanks to the unrivaled success of ‘Frozen‘. Lee  directed and co-wrote the animated flick that has dragged every child that’s ever seen it into its icy depths. There isn’t a parent around that hasn’t been tortured by their kids either falling in love with the movie, or non-stop singing of ‘Let It Go‘. It’s a great song, I love Idina Menzel’s voice, but there are only so many times you can hear it as dozens of parents have taken to YouTube to prove.

Bryan Gets Frozen (Review)

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 7th, 2010

Adam Green is one talented young filmmaker.  He caught my eye with his 1st film, “Hatchet”.  Then I kept hearing about this movie called “Frozen”.  I did not initially know what it was about, then I heard through some sources that it was about three college kids who get stuck high up on a ski lift.

After hearing this, I thought, that’s not that bad, they could survive a night.  How could you make an interesting movie about that?

Well Adam Green did and he made one hell of a fun and tense movie.

It begs the question, what would you do in a terrible situation to stay alive?

So I’m going to flat out say it…these three main characters are in Frozen are STUPID.  It is their own fault they are stuck up there and the decisions they make are ridiculous, but without these stupid decisions, we would not have a FUN film.  So keep that in mind while watching the film.  And you know that there are a lot of dumb people in this world that will do the insanely stupid shit these kids do.  That said, I find this film fairly realistic and a hell of a lot of fun.

This is one of those films that is so full of suspense that you might actually sweat and that whoever you watch it with will spend the entire time during the movie and after telling you what they would have done in that situation.

I personally think that this would be cool as hell as a stage play.  Like a one setting type of scenario of survival.  Would be AWESOME.

This is a film to watch with a big audience.  So get your friends over and pop this into your player and take joy in all the screams and people gripping each other, because it WILL happen.

The movie is scary, vicious, tense, and so much fun to watch with people to see them EEEK and claw at you in horror.

Pick this up below.

4K UHD Review: Alien: Covenant!

by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 25th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

THE FILM

We live in a time where all of our favorite films and television programs from decades ago are getting sequels, rebooted, and remade. The ALIEN franchise that we have all come to love over the years has had its share of revamps. Luckily, the original filmmaker Ridley Scott, who made ALIEN back in 1979 came back a few years ago and made an early sequel to the franchise with PROMETHEUS. Clearly, Scott isn’t done telling stories in this horrifying universe, and we now have a sequel with ALIEN: COVENANT, which breathes new life into this stale franchise and promises more sequels and even more scares. What we loved about the original ALIEN is certainly present in a lot of COVENANT.

Favorite Movie Scene of the Day #15!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jul 19th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

Every time I watch this scene, I find myself wincing, shrinking in my seat and covering my eyes, as if I’m watching it for the first time. I hate to say it, but I think we’ve all been here before. Maybe not as drastic as this, but some form of this – – we’ve all done it. This might be the most awkward and painful scene to watch in movie history, which is weird because it’s just one still shot of someone calling another person on the phone.

Film Review: ‘The LEGO Batman Movie’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Feb 7th, 2017

Dan M., here….

the_lego_batman_movie_-_batcave_teaser_trailer_screen_shot_-h_2016

The Lego Batman Movie or Deadpool for Families.

When it was released in 2014, The Lego Movie shocked me with how great it was. It was hilarious, had a brilliant concept, and a big reveal that was executed perfectly. It is also one of the few non-Disney/Pixar movies to have a ton of heart. Since that time I’ve seen some Lego Frozen shorts on Disney Channel and some Star Wars Lego stuff thanks to my kids and the humor is pretty top notch. The Lego Batman Movie takes all of these elements and created a truly laugh out loud movie, with a fun story, and some heartwarming moments. It is an A+ family movie.

The Angry Birds Movie‘ made such a giant splash for Rovio Entertainment Ltd. that a sequel has been announced. This one is kind of a “Duh!” move, but I’m glad it’s officially in the works. I think I probably enjoyed the movie more than my kids did, but it was something we kept talking about for a few days after. Read the rest of this entry »

Film Review: ‘The Huntsman: Winter’s War’!!

by Janet White on Apr 23rd, 2016

Hello Everyone, Janet W. here…

Huntsman

Let’s say just say it…Snow White and the Huntsman was not well done. The Huntsman: Winter’s War is the hot and cold shell that envelops its predecessor.  It’s not perfect, but is action enjoyment coupled with corny sporadic humor.  Not to mention, Chris Hemsworth finally got his balls back.  I can tell you that.  Snow White and the Huntsman emasculated the action-packed hunk of man that is Hemsworth.  Though some believe that this story should not have been told, but I enjoyed the unveiling of the back-backstory.  The film could have been structured to be less predictable but sometimes you just have to sit back and enjoy a film for your base needs: adrenaline, fear, and desire.

Russ & Roger‘ is a film that is currently casting which will put the friendship between filmmaker Russ Meyer and the film critic Roger Ebert on a grand scale which is best described as a debaucherous comedy centering on two outsiders who defied the Hollywood establishment and made one of the first X-rated films ever released by a major movie studio, having the party of a lifetime in the process.

Why I Love Movies!

by Red Zeppelbon on Aug 31st, 2015

Hey guys, Jana here,

PicMonkey Collage

When someone in the entertainment industry dies, especially suddenly, everyone reacts differently to the news. Some people just regard it as a bit of news for the day and go on entirely unphased. Then there’s another response some can have, it’s a personal, visceral one, at that. I fall into the latter category.

Hey guys, Jana here,

beauty

We’ve all heard the story, a tale as old as time…Our heroine Belle, sacrifices her freedom to trade places with her father living in an enchanted castle with a horridly monstrous beast that embodies the stuff nightmares are made of. She holds the key to his ultimate salvation and the others living in the castle nudge the pair together in hopes the end of their enchantment will be realized. I grew up on the Disney animated feature and it’s remained one of my top 3 toon-movies even now.

Janet W., Here…

We all know the story of Cinderella.  A kind and sweet young woman loses her parents and is stuck with a horrid stepmother and two selfish personified stepsisters.  They make her a slave in her own home.  The beauty of the fairy tale was that despite her circumstance Cinderella remained her wonderful self and blessed with her dream in the loving arms of the prince.  Amidst this story is the magical presence of loveable mice and Cinderella’s fairy godmother.

Due to Snowmageddon, WWE had no choice but to cancel the RAW live event just 24 hours after one of the most controversial Royal Rumble pay per views in recent memory. The WWE Universe was addressed by the WWE Superstars that they were dying to hear from following the Royal Rumble event, and those who missed it, got treated to the Royal Rumble match itself (shown in its entirety) and the Triple Threat match for the World Heavy Weight Title (best match of the night.) Who had what to say and to whom? Let’s find out!

by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 24th, 2014

Angi S., Here….

RAW_1126_Photo_264-3289282083

It’s that time of year again. When we all gather round with those we care about and watch the special Christmas edition of WWE’s RAW from Minneapolis, Minnesota! Trees, lights and cheer paired with mayhem, chaos and insanity were the order of the evening. Like so many presents we have received in our life time, we saw things that made us go this is awesome, and others that made us go what the hell did I just witness? Either way, we were just grateful to spend the time with the superstars we loved and the ones we wished we really could not see. What fun was to be had and what was bad? Let’s rip into this shiny box of holiday spirit that is the December 22, 2014 RAW!
