Hey guys, Jana here,

Mel Gibson is behind the camera as director of his first film in 10 years with ‘Hacksaw Ridge‘. He has amassed an amazing cast led by Andrew Garfield, with Teresa Palmer, Sam Worthington, Vince Vaughn and Hugo Weaving. From the looks of the trailer we might be looking at a project that could land Gibson back into Oscar contention, maybe that will convince the studio to allow his name back on their promotional materials.

Screenwriter Randall Wallace is the man that was behind the script for ‘Braveheart‘, ‘We Were Soldiers‘ and ‘Hacksaw Ridge‘, the first two star Mel Gibson and the latter was directed by Gibson. The pair clearly work well together and they’re taking on another project together, a vast undertaking that will be a sequel to ‘The Passion of the Christ‘ that focuses on the resurrection of Jesus.

Hey guys, Jana here,

mel-gibson-2

Finally Mel Gibson has come back to DIRECTING!!!! So I’m watching some old school WWF shows while I’m writing this, but my excitement is still the same. I’ve been pushing my own private agenda and have been stumping for Gibson to have his black-ball status lifted since his…let’s just say indiscretions.

Mel Gibson In Talks To Direct ‘Hacksaw Ridge’!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Nov 22nd, 2014

Hey guys, Jana here,

download

Mel Gibson has been absent from the directing scene the last few years after he famously chose not to exercise his Miranda right to “remain silent” when he was pulled over for DUI. Once the incident was made public, he was systematically black-balled from the major film world. Oh, he’s still been in a few films that were by no means a success. Robert Downey, JR showed loyalty by using his voice to beg for the ban to be lifted on Gibson’s career. He was given a part in ‘The Expendables 3‘ and a part in ‘Machete Kills‘ that might have been the beginning of his return to mainstream media.

Hi, Bryan Here….

melgibson-getthegringo-gunpoint-tsr

Nothing is confirmed at this moment and is merely a rumor we are hearing around right now, but it looks like Mel Gibson might be joining Stallone in ‘The Expendables 3‘. At one point, Stallone wanted Gibson to direct the third adventure, but Gibson declined. However, that wouldn’t necessarily stop him from acting in the piece. and Gibson needs all the work he can get right now as a lot of people in Hollywood do not want to work with him, due to his crazy antics.

Mel Gibson To Make Jewish Hero Epic on Judah Maccabee!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 8th, 2011

Hi Bryan Here….

Mel Gibson and Warner Bros. are temaing up to make a film about the life of Judah Maccabee, the warrior whose ancient victory is celebrated by Hanukkah.  Gibson’s Icon Productions has teamed with Warner Bros. to produce the film with Joe Eszterhas writing the script.  After the script is done, Gibson will then decide if he will direct.  It is also a possibility that Gibson would choose to act in the film as well.

Bryan Here…

Earlier today, it was reported that the Mel Gibson cameo as a tattoo artist in the upcoming sequel to The Hangover was cancelled.  This was caused by certain actors and crew members and friends of the producers protesting Mel’s involvement.  Supposedly Zach Galafianakis was the ring leader in this.

So as quick as lightning strikes, there is a replacement for Mel’s role as the tattoo artist.  The character calls for somebody who is completely CRAZY and somebody who you would be scared to talk with.

The man taking on the role now is Liam Neeson.  Yes a Jedi will be in the Hangover sequel.

Hangover star Bradley Cooper had a hand in getting his A-Team co-star the gig for this movie.

Can’t wait to see Liam pull this character off.

What do yall think?

Mel Gibson’s Cameo Cancelled For The Hangover Sequel

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 22nd, 2010

Bryan Here….

Earlier this week, it was reported HERE that Mel Gibson would have a cameo role in the upcoming Hangover Sequel as a tattoo artist.

This did not go over well with some people working on the movie.

Director Todd Phillips said: “I realize filmmaking is a collaborative effort, and this decision ultimately did not have the full support of my entire cast and crew.”

WOW.

What are your thoughts?  do you think Mel should get a….let me see…4th chance?

Mel Gibson Will Have Cameo in The Hangover Sequel

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 19th, 2010

The troubled star whose agency dropped him a while ago, will get another stab at his move career.

Gibson will play  a tattoo artist in the upcoming Hangover sequel.  Filming will be on the Warner Bros. Lot where a Bangkok set has been built since the movie will be taking place in Thailand.  The film will shoot on location in Thailand after a few weeks of shooting on the Warner lot.

“The Hangover” will follow the gang, played by Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zack Galifianakis and Justin Bartha, as they take a boys’ trip to Thailand with a dangerous stop in Bangkok. Asian gangster Mr. Chow, played by Ken Jeong, will also return.

Mike Tyson’s career was boosted by his role in the 1st Hangover film.  He image went from troubled drug user to comedic actor.  I wonder if the same will be said for Gibson.

I’ve always liked Mel as an actor.  I do look forward to his cameo role in this and I hope he gets his guest starring role on AMC’s Mad Men next season.

Mel Gibson Might Join TV Show Mad Men

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 23rd, 2010

Mel Gibson has really never appeared in an acting role for TV except for that one episode of The Simpsons back over ten years ago.  Now it seems Mel is in talks with Mad Men creator/producer Matthew Weiner about taking on a role in a big story arc for next season.

Nothing is set in stone yet, but I still think, despite Mel’s personal demons, is still a good actor and a good director.  It will be interesting to see what happens here and if this does come to be true, if Gibson will turn to TV full time.

Your thoughts?

Film Review: ‘What Men Want’!!

by Janet White on Feb 8th, 2019

Hello Everyone, Janet W. here…

It has been said that men are from Mars and women are from Venus.  The meaning behind this idiom is that men and women are so different that communication between the two is doomed to fail.  The truth is that men and women consistently get in their own way when it comes to romance, however; that is a different conversation. (wink)   Ali Davis (Taraji P. Henson) is power without a couple.  She’s strong, determined, intelligent, and fierce in both beauty and business acumen.  Despite her many talents and skills, Ali is repeatedly passed over for a promotion to partner in her sports management firm.  Her boss, Nick Ivers (Mr. Stone Cold Himself, Brian Bosworth, still pretty hot), claims that Ali cannot relate to men.  Well, a visit with Sister the psychic (Dallas’ own Erykah Badu), a bottle of tequila, and a stage floor, and Ali becomes the translator that hears all.

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 27th, 2017

You’re never too old for this shit as Warner Bros. is talking with everyone about a new ‘Lethal Weapon‘ film that brings back the original cast. That name isn’t a typo either. Channing Gibson wrote ‘Lethal Weapon 4‘ and ‘Walking Tall‘ with The Rock. This would also bring back Mel Gibson and Danny Glover in their respective and iconic roles.

This is a bad year for walls. ‘The Great Wall‘ easily wins the “biggest misnomer of the year” award. Should have gone with the title “This Wall, It’s OK I Guess.” What the hell went wrong with this picture?  The setup is great, which is “We use the Great Wall of China as a backdrop for a fantasy film about monsters.”  There’s a parable about monsters and greed and containment and human evil, but really, it’s all about monsters attacking the Great Wall of China.  On this premise alone, it sounds like a lot of fun, and it really could have been.

THE FILM

It’s a damn shame that every action movie can’t be as good as ‘Mad Max: Fury Road‘. So many action films will try, but will ultimately fail for a variety of reasons. Pure action filmmaking and movies just don’t get better than this movie. ‘Fury Road‘ is a troubled story to say the least. Original creator George Miller who made the original three ‘Mad Max‘ films had the idea for this fourth installment back in 1998. That’s 17-years ago. This project wasn’t necessarily put on a hold shelf, but a few things had happened to delay the film from being made. From 9-11 to foreign policy, to Mel Gibson’s infamous arrest, there were a variety of things that prevented this movie from seeing the light of day.

Blu-ray Review: ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ (3D Version)!!

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

This is more or less the same exact review as the 2D version of the film, which you can see here. The only difference here is there is an extra disc that sports the 3D version of the film. All of the extras, subtitles, audio presentations, and film itself are the exact same. And no, there is unfortunately not the fabled B&W version of the film here or on the 2D version. Maybe someday in the future we’ll get that, but if you want to read about the 3D presentation, skip down to the “VIDEO/AUDIO” section. Thank you and YES, this is a MUST-OWN!

New ‘Lethal Weapon’ Sequel With New Stars!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Apr 1st, 2015

Hey guys, Jana here,

M~ p26eb04_lethal/26p/b&w

This top story excited me like no other today as I’m a huge fan of both Mel Gibson AND the ‘Lethal Weapon‘ franchise. In 1998 director Richard Donner brought us the fourth sequel in the popular buddy-cop series starring Mel Gibson as Martin Riggs, the powder keg with a short fuse and deadly sharp-shooting skill and Danny Glover as Roger Murtaugh, the all-around family man that continually counts down the days to his retirement and worries about going off-book as a cop until shit gets serious then he gladly joins Riggs in tearing apart whatever ass-hat is at the center of the problem.

Jana’s Best/Worst of 2014!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Dec 15th, 2014

Hey guys, Jana here,

It’s been a big year for the entertainment world. Netflix’s initial push to bring movie-theater worthy films straight to streaming customers and bypassing the big screen altogether set off a chain of deals that will take those fresh releases and push them directly into homes allowing us to bypass a $15.00 soda, but denying us the $20.00 popcorn you can only get at the theater. Then came the deluge of series and movies being made for exclusive run with everyone from Netflix, Amazon to Crackle and everything in between. Top that off with the huge breach of privacy Sony experienced. New releases were flooded onto P2P sharing sites and private emails from the film company’s big wigs that show us how the infrastructure of Sony really works, not to mention what those involved really think of some of their superstars.

Hey guys, Jana here,

benghazi_victims_for_site

There are directors that you want telling the heart-wrenchingly true stories based on fact. Spielberg was unflinchingly loyal to history when he made ‘Schindler’s List‘ and ‘Saving Private Ryan‘. Mel Gibson brought the history of William Wallace to life as he led the Scots in revolt against England in ‘Braveheart‘. Ridley Scott dove into the horrific tale of ‘Blackhawk Down‘ and pulled no punches with the details. ‘Act of Valor‘, ‘Zero Dark Thirty‘ and ‘Lone Survivor’ are all cut from the same cloth as the previously mentioned films. The memory and honor of the dead lives on through these fact-based projects. One name you won’t see at the top of my wish list to direct a piece like these is Michael Bay.

The 1979 hit that made Mel Gibson a superstar is being re-launched….as is everything that was once great, good or even mediocre. George Miller is back to direct the franchise that made his name 35 years ago with Mad Max: Fury Road. Mel Gibson will be back, as well, but not in the lead role. That torch has been passed on to Tom Hardy (Warrior, Lawless, The Dark Knight Rises). Joining Hardy are co-stars Charlize Theron (Monster, Aeon Flux and Snow White and the Huntsman)and Nicholas Hoult (Warm Bodiess, Jack the Giant Slayer and X-Men: First Class). This makes the first Mad Max movie since 1985’s Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome.

by Gumbercules9000 on Mar 13th, 2012

Hi, Bryan Here….

“They may take our lives, but they’ll never take our FREEDOM!”  The Scottish legend William Wallace who was played by Mel Gibson in the film ‘Braveheart’ is getting a tv series.  The show will be called ‘Wallace’ and will be a historical drama series based on the life of Wallace.  Think along the lines of the series ‘Spartacus’ and HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’, but with the ‘Braveheart’ story.

Hi Bryan Here…

It looks like Warner Bros. and producer Joel Silver are going to bring back Riggs and Mutaugh once again for another Lethal Weapon film.  But this time it might be a reboot instead of a 5th sequel.  So basically we will get new generation of actors with the same story.  Nothing  is set in stone yet, so the possibility of having Danny Glover and Mel Gibson reprising their roles is not completely out of the question, but it looks that way.

TOP 133 FILMS OF THE LAST DECADE (#100 – #85)

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 4th, 2010

Here we are in the Top 100 films of the last decade.  There are some great titles on here.  Enjoy.  As usual, there is the movie title name along with the date it was released, a mini review/memory of the film and a link that takes you to AMAZON where you can purchase the flick for a great price.

100_ Signs – August 2, 2002

I really enjoyed this Alien film from M. Night.  Total Hitchcockian throughout.  That scene with the alien stuck in the pantry of and Mel Gibson tries to get a glimpse of it with the  reflection of a butcher knife is so tense.  If aliens do come to Earth, hopefully they are not hostile.  A very good solid alien film.  Very tense.

99_ Garden State – July 28, 2004

Zach Braff shows the world he is a very talented director, not just a comedic tv actor.  This film has tons of heart and soul in it.  You really feel for the characters. Nothing is forced and it moves along nicely.  Natalie Portman is so lovely in this film. The soundtrack is one of the best of the decade as well. Go Shins.  I wish more films were like this. I look forward to more directorial efforts from Braff.

98_ A Serious Man – October 2, 2009

The latest film from The Coen Bros.  A very dark comedy.  The story follows a Jewish man who has a family, a job, and everything else but respect.  Everyone shits on him.  I can say that if you are NOT jewish or you do not have any jewish friends then you most likely wont get a lot of the film, but this film is hilarious.  This is suppose to be the Coen Bros. Biopic piece about themselves growing up.  I can relate.  Pretty funny.  A must see.

97_ Dawn of the Dead – March 19, 2004

The only complaint I had about this film is that I wish it wasn’t called Dawn of the Dead, which tells people it is a remake of the Romero classic.  It is not, although same story line in a way, but no.  This zombie thriller is BALLS TO THE WALL awesome.  It has got some of the best deaths, chills, and survival scenarios ever.  The scene where they shoot zombies that look like famous people is priceless.  Love this film.  Go James Gunn and Zach Snyder.  Some of the best head shots in cinema history.

96_ Match Point – January 20, 2006

Another Woody Allen film.  This marks the first in a set of films that Woody filmed in England.  This certainly does not play out like a typical Woody Allen film.  It is not funny whatsoever.  It is a serious drama.  So well played out and acted and directed and written.  Everything really.  This film follows a young man who meets a girl from a wealthy family.  The family takes him in as one of their own, buying him and their daughter a house and getting him the job of a lifetime.  This guy has a long affair with the beautiful Scarlett Johanssen.  When our main character wants to break off the affair he does so by murder.  What a film.  A must see.

95_ Hard Candy – April 14, 2006

What a brutal film this was.  A young Ellen Paige is the star in this film.  I literally had the flop sweats when I saw this in the theatre because I was so tense.  Wheww.  Just thinking about it gives me shivers.  Tons of twists and turns in this film. I do not want to give anything away, but seriously….see this film.  It will make you sweat.

94_ Super Troopers – February 16, 2001

Broken Lizards first feature film hit the jackpot and changed our lives forever with the immediate cult icon Officer Rod Farva.  This film follows the Highway patrol team and their hilarious antics with civilians.  People still today quote this film and will for some time.  I remember laughing out loud in the theatre for fifteen minutes straight at the biker line.  If you like comedy, then get off your ass and see this film if you have not already.  You will love it.

93_ Best In Show – September 29, 2000

A wonderful mockumentary from Chris Guest about Dog Shows and the people who take their dogs there.  We all know these types of people.  Dog People.  And it is all sorts of funny to watch all of their worlds crumble.  Oh the nut rant is prime.  This is dry humor at its best and your gut will hurt from all the laughter throughout the film. Stellar performaces all around.  More please.

92_ Fahrenheit 9/11 – June 23, 2004

An amazing documentary about the 9/11 attacks and the events leading up to it and all the questions we had about it.  We just didn’t know the truth, but we do now, and it was not pretty.  Michael Moore was the first to show us the truth on this.  This documentary will anger you and make you laugh and cry.  This is what I think is the start of the fall of George W. Bush.  You see who he really is in this film.  Go M.M.

91_ Black Snake Moan – March 2, 2007

I really did enjoy this little film.  I believe this film was loosely based on the great blues legend R.L. Burnside’s life.  It definitely has the great music to back it up.  Sam Jackson plays a old genuine God Fearing man who comes across a beaten up tramp played by the gorgeous Christina Ricci and takes her in to his home to get her well.  She was left for dead.  She gets all better and Sam Jackson chains her to his heater and he aims to cure her of her wickedness and make her a better person.  It is really good.  See it.

90_ Grindhouse – April 6, 2007

Oh yes. Tarantino and Rodriguez pay homage to the 70’s grindhouse experience by making a double feature of badassery, exploitation, and violence.  An allstar cast in both films.  One film deals with zombies and the other film deals with a crazed killer in a kick ass car.  The soundtrack is out of this world.  If you want to get a group of your friends together and pound a ton of beer and eat tons of junk food, then put this double feature on and enjoy the hell out of it.  So much fun.  I look forward to another double feature in the future from these two brilliant filmmakers.  Thank you for giving me this pleasure.

88_ Thirst – July 31, 2009

A really fantastic Korean Vampire film from the director of OLDBOY.  I like this one so much for its way of showing you every aspect of being a vampire and the guilt it causes and your need to feed.  More vampire films like this.  This director is amazing.  Not too much gore but just enough.

87_ Burn After Reading – September 12, 2008

I loved this Coen Brothers comedy.  Not a lot of people did.  It grows on you.  It is a comedy dram about the US government.  Starring George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Frances McDormand, Richard Jenkins, and John Malkovich.  If you liked Big Lebowski, you will like this film.  Tons of laughs.

86_ Night Watch – February 17, 2006

The first film in this Russion Horror trilogy.  This film is pretty epic and I believe is the biggest budget film Russia has ever done.  There are shape shifters, ghosts, murders, robots, monsters, vampires and much much more.  The visuals are stunning.  I highly recommend these films.  Classic Good vs. Evil here.

85_ Sin City – April 1, 2005

Finally the comic book of hardcore comes to the big screen.  I love these comics and the fact that Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino brought in Frank Miller to make this shows me just how brilliant they are in filmmaking.  Pretty much shot for shot and the same dialogue as the comic.  It is beautiful.  I love this modern Noir style.  Mickey Rourke as Marv is genius.  This is gruesome, funny and action packed.  Brittany Murphy does a stellar job in this too.  Cannot wait for the rest of the comics in comic book form.

This week is a MEGA release week for movies.  Tons of great films being released.  As last time, below you will get some information about the upcoming releases and a link/picture to where you can click and be taken to AMAZON to purchase the movie for a very cheap price.  Enjoy this week’s column.

2001 Maniacs

This movie stars Robert Englund from the Nightmare on Elm street movies.  Based on the campy cult classic by the Godfather of gore, Herschell Gordon Lewis, and starring horror legend Robert Englund, 2001 Maniacs is a bloody comedy/spoof that audiences will love. 2001 Maniacs tells the story of a group of college students on their way to spring break. They decide to take a detour through an old southern town – and are soon in for a big surprise. The residents of Pleasant Valley insist the kids stay for their annual barbecue celebration…but instead of getting a taste of the old south, the old south gets a taste of them!

The Blair Witch Project (Blu-ray)

This bluray was released  over a month ago exclusively at BEST BUY.  If you have not picked it up yet, then you can pick Blair Witch up anywhere tomorrow.  While this bluray disc is the best Blair Witch has ever looked, it is far from being a demo in your home.  Still tons of grain and just over all sloppy.  But I believe this was the intent of the filmmakers.  To make it look as real as possible.  The sound isn’t really that great on the disc.  Those set aside, if you liked seeing this movie all those years ago, then this is a must pick up to re-live that time and the special features are pretty good.

The Exorcist: Extended Director’s Cut (Blu-Ray)

Finally.  To start out the month of Halloween, we get the hig-def transfer of the scariest movie of all time, “The Exorcist”.  You get the spider-crawl scene, the extended ending and a few other scenes that were added in that were not in the original.  I saw this at the theater last week on the big screen, and it was fantastic.  Still scary as hell.  I wish they still made films like this still.  Where we grow with a character and see them transform into something TERRIBLE.    This is a 2-dsic set with a booklet with behind the scenes photos and essays about the making of the film.  An absolute must for any collection.

It is about time we get these two films from Tarantino and Rodriguez in one release.  And YES.  YES.  We will be getting all the fake trailers in this release of Grindhouse.    Now I am a big fan of actual Grindhouse films and Tarantino and Rodriguez did an excellent job in re-creating the atmosphere and feel of this type of film.  I cannot wait to sit down with some friends at midnight with tons of beer and food and watch these two films in a row.

Hard Candy (Blu-Ray)

This was another film that was released a while ago as a Best Buy exclusive.  This film made me sweat.  I was on the edge of my seat the entire film.  One of the most tense films I have ever seen.  If you have not seen this yet, I really do not want to give anything away, but seriously buy this film if you love uber tense movies.  What a thrill ride.  it stars Ellen Page from “Juno”.

Hoping to prepare for their college exams in peace and quiet, they decide to spend a weekend in the country at Alexia’s parents’ secluded farmhouse. But in the dead of night, a stranger knocks on the front door. And with the first swing of his knife, the girls’ idyllic weekend turns into an endless night of horror.

The Human Centipede (Blu-Ray)

I saw this film a few months ago.  It really did not get a wide release in theaters.  IFC put it on demand for a couple of weeks and I got a chance to watch it.  WOW.  It is a brutal torture film in which a mad scientist/doctor makes a “Human Centipede”, by kidnapping innocent people and sewing his victims ass to mouth so they have one digestive track.  This is a film to watch with others and watch their reaction.  Much much joy.  This is a must own for all you cinephiles out there.  “During a stopover in Germany in the middle of a carefree roadtrip through Europe, two American girls find themselves alone at night when their car breaks down in the woods. Searching for help at a nearby villa, they are wooed into the clutches of a deranged retired surgeon who explains his mad scientific vision to his captives’ utter horror. They are to be the subjects of his sick lifetime fantasy: to be the first to connect people, one to the next, via their gastric system, and in doing so bring to life ‘the human centipede.”

Even worse, Dre’s feelings make an enemy of the class bully, and kung fu prodigy, Cheng. The Last of the Mohicans (Blu-Ray)

An epic adventure and passionate romance unfold against the panorama of a frontier wilderness ravaged by war. Academy Award winner Daniel Day-Lewis (Best Actor in 1989 for My Left Foot) stars as Hawkeye, rugged frontiersman and adopted son of the Mohicans, and Madeleine Stowe is Cora Munro, aristocratic daughter of a proud British Colonel. Their love, tested by fate, blazes amidst a brutal conflict between the British, the French and Native American allies that engulfs the majestic mountains and cathedral-like forests of Colonial America.  What a gem of a film in high definition.

Mad Max (Blu-Ray)

Mel Gibson at his best.  In the ravaged near-future, a savage motorcycle gang rules the road. Terrorizing innocent civilians while tearing up the streets, the ruthless gang laughs in the face of a police force hell-bent on stopping them. But they underestimate one officer: Max Rockatansky (Gibson). And when the bikers brutalize Max’s best friend and family, they send him into a mad frenzy that leaves him with only one thing left in the world to live for – revenge!

The Maltese Falcon (Blu-ray)

A beloved Bogart classic gets the high-def treatment.  A gallery of high-living lowlifes will stop at nothing to get their sweaty hands on a jewel-encrusted falcon. Detective Sam Spade (Humphrey Bogart) wants to find out why – and who’ll take the fall for his partner’s murder. An all-star cast (including Sydney Greenstreet, Mary Astor, Peter Lorre and Elisha Cook Jr.) joins Bogart in this crackling mystery masterwork written for the screen (from Dashiell Hammett’s novel) and directed by John Huston. This 1941 Academy Awards® Nominee* catapulted Bogart to stardom and launched Huston’s directorial career – all with a bird and a bang.

A Nightmare on Elm St. 2010 (Blu-ray)

This remake of the beloved 1980’s classic by Wes Craven gets the remake over haul and only somewhat disappoints.  You get everything you want out of the film.  Jackie Earl Haley plays Freddy and he does a good job at it and there are even some straight forward shot for shot remake scenes from the original.  But what is missing or shall I say what is NOT missing.  Listen, I do NOT want an “in my face” reason why Freddy is Freddy.  I do NOT want to know when these characters are in a dream or not until creepy shit starts happening.  And I want Freddy to be the same funny one liner Freddy, which I get but only in the end.  Some stuff was done right and some stuff was not.  Overall I still liked it, and will see another sequel if one gets made, but the original still is the best.

The Peanuts Holiday Collection (Blu-ray)

A wonderful set of our favorite comic strip “The Peanuts: featuring Charlie Brown.  In this set you will get “A Charlie Brown Christmas”, “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown”, and “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving”.   Can’t wait to watch these in the blu-ray format.

Supplements

  • Bonus Cartoons
  • Featurettes

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Undead (Blu-Ray)

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Undead’ is the debut feature film of Director Jordan Galland, who also penned the original screenplay, which finds the characters from Hamlet, a tip of the cap to Tom Stoppard, and a two thousand year conspiracy involving vampires and the Holy Grail.   This just sounds BADASS!  Must Get.

Secretary (Blu-Ray)

What a modern classic cult film this was.  I love the fetish world and this films explores quite a bit of that.  In an office setting no less.  A true Love Story at heart.  James Spader and Maggie Gyllenhaal star in the dark comedy Secretary. Praised as “daring, funny and quirkily erotic!” (Glenn Kenny, Premiere) and “sexy and highly stylized” (Gear magazine), Secretary is the story of Lee Holloway (Gyllenhaal), a young woman with a few strikes against her after a brief stay in a mental hospital, who accepts a secretarial position working at the law office of E. Edward Grey (Spader). The work seems normal at first, but somewhere between the typing, filing and coffee-making, Lee and her new boss cross the line of their professional relationship and enter into a Human Resources nightmare!

Splice (Blu-Ray)

I really liked this film.  It was a very different take into the realm of sci-fi and horror.  It is a bit awkward to watch, but I loved where this move took me.  I have not seen it before done.  Very good and highly recommended.  Superstar genetic engineers Clive (Adrien Brody) and Elsa (Sarah Polley) specialize in splicing DNA from different animals to create incredible new hybrids. Now they want to use human DNA in a hybrid that could revolutionize science and medicine. But when the pharmaceutical company that funds their research forbids it, Clive and Elsa secretly take their boldest experimentation underground—risking their careers by pushing the boundaries of science to serve their own curiosity and ambition. The result is Dren, an amazing, strangely beautiful creature of uncommon intelligence and an array of unexpected physical developments. At first, Dren exceeds their wildest dreams. But as she grows and learns at an accelerated rate, her existence threatens to become their worst nightmare.

Troll 2: Nilbog Edition (Blu-Ray)

Labeled as the Best Worst Film Ever.  Troll 2 does not have trolls in the entire film nor is it a sequel.  If that does not capture you to want to watch this then I do not know what will.  Disguised as friendly country folk, a pugnacious posse of people-eating trolls lures visitors to their town. But a family of four is about to discover this place is a real tourist trap…and they’re the prey! Now, the no-good gnomes must be destroyed before the family gets flambéed…and the world becomes a buffet in this feeding frenzy of fear!  A ridiculous good time.

That is it for this week.  Stay tuned for next week.

Director Uwe Boll might be regarded as the WORST filmmaker of the past few decades.  Movies like “House of the Dead”, “Blood Rayne”, and “Alone in the Dark” riddle his resume amongst others.  It is crazy to think that this guy thinks he could make a movie of such tender subject matter where he himself says he is not a director with a lot of talent and vision.

Now where I really do not have a problem with him making this film, I wonder if it is really necessary to make and to fill the movie with tons of gore and hardcore violent scenes as shown in the VERY NSFW trailer below.

I think Uwe Boll is doing this to prove he is a good director where he is anything but and to pursue a film like this is just in poor taste and really not needed.  I wonder if he thought to himself that Mel Gibson made a gory violent  film about Christ then why can’t he make a gory violent movie about the holocaust.

After watching the NSFW trailer even Neo-Nazis might be shaking their heads going, “Seriously Uwe, I think they’ve been through enough.”

I think Uwe Boll has sunk to a new low.

Now I cannot find out about this film anywhere on imdb so I wonder if it is actually happening or not.  Who knows?

Check the trailer out HERE if you have a strong stomach.

4K UHD Review: ‘Dunkirk’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 19th, 2017

THE FILM

There’s never been a war film like ‘Dunkirk‘, which I’d say is a masterpiece in filmmaking, lead by Christopher Nolan (Inception, The Dark Knight Trilogy). Even though Dunkirk cost $150 million to make, you really wouldn’t know it, as it’s simplistic, yet grand view of the Battle and Evacuation of Dunkirk in 1940 is perfectly captured here. Dunkirk is why we still go to the movies. It’s one of the most intense movies I’ve ever seen and is one of the reasons to get out and see it in IMAX. Other war films try add sweeping music to add an emotional effect or certain camera angles to drum up more dramatic suspense.

Hey guys, Jana here,

I-Am-Wrath-Movie

John Travolta is one of those guys that has been in every kind of movie under the sun and some are better for him than others. I like Travolta, he can butcher a name with the best of them, just check out the Oscars and Idina Menzel, it takes a special kind of person to flub on that big of a stage and laugh it off and keep going.

Neil Young: Journeys Blu-Ray (REVIEW)

by NapkinArt on Jan 5th, 2013

51iqgP9I1sL._SL500_AA300_Howdy Classic Rock fans, Napkin Art Here…

I have just one question: Who the f*ck doesn’t love Neil Young?

The ‘Grandaddy of Grunge’ has been on quite a roll over the last few years, musically and artistically, releasing several critically acclaimed albums, an autobiography (finally), not to mention releasing the long, long-awaited “Neil Young Archives: Volume 1” to the masses, proving again and again that ‘rust never sleeps.’ After all, Young is pretty old for a rock and roll star.
