Hi Bryan Here….

My favorite stand up comedian of all time is forever Steve Martin.  His bits still make me laugh till this day as if I were hearing them  for the first time all over again.  I laugh so hard I hurt each time I listen to his recordings.  Not to mention his film career, but The Jerk, Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and Three Amigos are amongst the funniest films ever made.  So while Steve has hosted the Oscars numerous times and hosted SNL numerous times, Mr. Martin gives his long time friend Eddie Murphy some helpful advice on hosting the Oscars.  Enjoy.

Hi Bryan Here….

“The workers at a posh Central Park condominium plot to steal back their pensions from the thieving Wall Street billionaire who’s about to get away with the ultimate white-collar crime in this heist comedy starring Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy. Financial giant Arthur Shaw (Alan Alda) has just been placed under house arrest in his luxury New York City penthouse for cleaning out his investors to the tune of two billion dollars. Meanwhile, on the complete opposite end of the financial spectrum, Josh Kovacs (Stiller) earns a modest living as the manager of the luxurious building where Shaw resides. Upon learning that the tower staffers who entrusted Shaw with their retirement funds are about to lose their life earnings, and that the thief will likely get off scot-free, Josh recruits crafty swindler Slide (Murphy) to help get their money back. Though the security in Arthur’s condo is unusually tight, between Josh’s knowledge of the building and Slide’s sleight of hand, this ragtag gang of criminals might just have what it takes to get the job done.”

Bad Boys For Life – Film Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 15th, 2020

“Bad Boys for Life is a blast.”

“Shit just got real.” Bad Boys for Life is the third installment in this movie franchise that has Will Smith and Martin Lawrence partnering up once again, telling jokes, driving fast vehicles, and killing the bad guys. The first film was released 25 years ago with the second film debuting 17 years back, both of them made by Michael Bay. It’s a new decade and era, and even though Will Smith hasn’t aged a day since the Clinton administration, Michael Bay is nowhere to be found behind the scenes here. In fact, two relatively unknown Belgian filmmakers, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah have taken the reigns and made a thrilling, funny, and somewhat heartfelt Bad Boys film, one that has consequences and brings more development to these two hilarious characters. It’s no wonder Arbi and Fallah are tackling Beverly Hills Cop 4 with Eddie Murphy next. But with Bad Boys for Life, you can expect the usual action set pieces, but with some added heart and soul to the mix, which is a very welcome addition and breathes new life into this film series.

DOLEMITE IS MY NAME – Film Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 10th, 2019

Inspired by the true story of Rudy Ray Moore’s unconventional and surprising career comes to life in Craig Brewer’s new film ‘Dolemite is My Name‘ starring the impressive Eddie Murphy. The movie has a treasure trove of elements working in its favor, including a stellar cast, a story of making a movie on a low-budget, and Eddie Murphy in rare form, which has re-ignited his passion for stand-up comedy. Following on the footsteps of Brewer’s previous endeavors – ‘Hustle & Flow‘ and ‘Black Snake Moan‘ – ‘Dolemite is My Name‘ walks a different path, one of which brings big smiles and laughter to the screen every minute it’s rolling. Truly one of the best of the year.

Coming to America 2 is Happening!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 28th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here…

It looks like it’s official. ‘Coming to America 2‘ is finally happening. I’m on the fence about this at this moment in time, because the original film that was directed by John Landis and starred Eddie Murphy, Arsenio Hall, and James Earl Jones, amongst a ton of other great actors is one of the funniest films ever made with a ton of heart. Doing a sequel so many years later – – I have my doubts, since nobody from the original film has signed on yet.

Hey guys, Jana here,

Arnold Schwarzenegger tells us repeatedly that he’ll be back. Back to what is the question now, and the answer – is everything. This is one guy that is not content to sit back and rest on his body of work, but is continually adding to it.

Favorite Movie Scene of the Day #6!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 28th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

9276b3bd39c2edaef8db2280a13124d5

I really don’t think it gets any funnier than this right here. The year was 1988 and director John Landis and actors Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall were on top of the world. It was good times for sure. These three made a little comedy movie called Coming to America, which is still to this day one of the funniest movies ever made. This had super-star Eddie Murphy, who was then mostly known for his work on SNL and his vulgar and hilarious stand up routine, acting in a role where he was the most gentle, warm, and nicest guys around.

Hey guys, Jana here,

dave-chappelle-1-800

Dave Chappelle is joining several other comedians and boarding the Netflix train. Chappelle will fit right in there with three new stand-up comedy specials. One will be an original stand-up comedy filmed exclusively for Netflix. While the other two have not been filmed specifically for Netflix, they’re never-before-seen and come from Chappelle’s personal library. Not only are Netflix giving fans some new comedy offerings, but they’re giving us Chappelle’s first concert specials in at least 12 years!

‘Beverly Hills Cop 4’ Finally Happening!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 14th, 2016

Hi everyone, Bryan here…

beverly-hills-cop-4-release-date-570x294

The ‘Beverly Hills Cop‘ franchise seems to be never ending, or at least never getting up off the ground. That being said, it looks like a 4th film with Eddie Murphy is finally gaining steam once again. We’ve seen this before. Hell, we’ve seen a TV series try to take off, but never happen with this franchise. Maybe this time, it will actually happen, and we will get the Detroit cop back in California once again, solving a crime.
