Reese Witherspoon Goes Dark In Her Next Project!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Aug 10th, 2015

Hey guys, Jana here,

72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards - Arrivals

Reese Witherspoon’s latest ‘Hot Pursuit‘ was part action and part crime, but mostly comedy at it’s heart. The southern blonde’s next movie is taking a completely opposite direction. ‘Cold‘ comes from writer Bill Marsilii and has been purchased by Lionsgate.

Hi everyone, Jana here,

I’ve never hid from you the girl-love I have deep inside me when it comes to beautiful faces, gorgeous bodies or even just their boobs. One person that comes to mind that holds all those qualities, plus makes me wish I were her, is Reese Witherspoon. She’s southern charm in motion. You just know she’s got to make killer sweet tea, right?

Anne Fletcher is a woman of many talents, a choreographer, actress, producer and director. She directed ‘The Guilt Trip‘, ‘The Proposal‘ and ‘27 Dresses‘. Fletcher is in talks with MGM, writers David Feeney and John Quaintance to direct ‘Don’t Mess With Texas‘,  a female-driven comedy similar to 1988’s ‘Midnight Run‘. Reese Witherspoon (‘Legally Blonde’, ‘Walk The Line’) and Sofia Vergara (TV’s ‘Modern Family’, ‘Four Brothers’) are set to star.

Hi Bryan Here…..

‘Big Eyes’ tells the true tale of Margaret and Walter Keane, a couple whose famous and one of a kind paintings of wide-eyed children became a hugely successful in the pop art community in the fifties and sixties. There is a surprise revelation to the story though.  Walter  stood as the frontman for the whole venture, where he took credit for his wife’s work.

Blu-ray Review: ‘A Wrinkle In Time’!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 30th, 2018

THE FILM

(This film portion was written by Beka Perlstein!)

I really wanted to like A Wrinkle in Time more than I did. I gave it my best shot, but in the end, the only thing I can honestly say was that it had lots of great colors. Perhaps it was my high expectations for a Disney film, plus Oprah Winfrey and Mindy Kaling that set me up for disappointment, but regardless, I was left feeling let down in a film that I knew practically nothing about. I have never read the 1962 Madeleine L’Engle novel, so I honestly had no clue what the plot was but whatever, it’s Disney, it’s gonna be good. Well…

Jana’s Best of 2017!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Jan 1st, 2018

Hey guys, Jana here,

I know these “Best of 2017” lists should technically be published in 2017, but why would I start 2018 any differently than I lived the majority of my adult life: Procrastinating and underachieving. What can I say? That’s my wheelhouse.

For a year that put a spotlight on some of the shittiest behavior by some of the Hollywood elite, it was actually a good year for TV and movies. I didn’t limit myself in number because as I moved on with the brackets, I felt like I was making ‘Sophie’s Choice‘ on some of these, so they’re all getting in! I’m feeling my inner-Oprah here, You’ve made the list! You made the list! EVERYBODY made the list!! In order to spare myself any arguments, I’m stating up front that my picks for the “Best of 2017” are not edited in regards to scandal or hideous human behavior.

Film Review: Home Again!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 7th, 2017

Audrey E., here….

Since their resurrection in the late 20th century, romantic comedies began digging their heels into the film industry and eventually gained permanent footing with audiences. By definition, rom-coms have amusing and sprightly plot-lines, circling around the ideal that true love can overcome any hitch, and women are simply helpless without their male counterparts. However, the genre has started morphing into something different lately; women are taking the leading role as well as the director’s chair. Despite all appearances, ‘Home Again’ announces that romance doesn’t have to take center stage, and women can be multi-dimensional, driven and even find happiness despite their losses in love.

Film Review: ‘Sing’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 19th, 2016

Beka P., Here…

sing-3

SING is a film set in a world where animals act just as people do- they dress and talk like we do, they work like we do, they have vices and problems and dreams just like we do. They also have singing competitions like we do, but thankfully this is no American Idol. This film is an absolute delight. Whether you take your kids or go with adults, it’s honestly one of the most enjoyable films I’ve seen all year. Grown men all around me were laughing deep belly laughs, an older woman next to me was singing along, and the kids in the back were giggling with glee. It’s fun for everyone.

by Red Zeppelbon on Apr 26th, 2016

Hey guys, Jana here,

Disney loves the live-action fairy tale trend as it’s proven by the last few years of their movie catalog, so it’s not surprising they are planning out a slate of movies into the next several years.

Hi everyone, Bryan Here….

Cruel-Intentions_612x380_0

Cruel Intentions‘ was a popular movie back in 1999. It starred a young Sarah Michelle Gellar, a young Ryan Phillippe, and a young Reese Witherspoon. Not to mention a dozen other “before they were famous” stars now. It was so popular back then, that it spawned a sequel or two. Now, NBC is doing a tv series, which is I guess a sequel of sorts. And Sarah Michelle Gellar has just signed on to reprise her role from the original 1999 film.

Hey guys, Jana here,

Barbie is probably listed on dozens of Christmas wish lists across the world right now and Bold Films is likely thinking that’s a wonderful thing as they prep the origin story for the doll so popular, you have to buy her friends! She’s also got an incredibly unattainable figure which some chick just had six ribs removed to meet those standards, but that’s another story. Where was I? Oh yeah, Barbie’s origin story is making it’s way to the big screen.

There’s been a project called ‘It’s ‘What I Do: A Photographer’s Life Of Love and War‘, which is a memoir by Lynsey Addario that has Hollywood clamoring to buy the rights for the big screen. It now seems that Warner Bros. has the upper hand and set to strike a deal with a highly bankable and talented team.

Film Review: ‘Inherent Vice’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 8th, 2015

Hi everyone, Bryan Here….

Inherent_Vice_Movie

Paul Thomas Anderson is one of the best directors working today. His films tell unique and compelling stories with such sustenance and amazing characters that you can’t help but be fully immersed within his world. From ‘Boogie Nights‘ and ‘There Will Be Blood‘ to ‘Punch Drunk Love‘ to ‘The Master‘ and everything else in between, Anderson has time and time again show that he is at the top of his game with each film he puts out.

Film Review: ‘Wild’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 10th, 2014

Hi everyone, Bryan Here….

reese-withersonpoon-first-image-look-pic-Cheryl-wild-movie-adaptation2

Director Jean-Marc Vallee is becoming one of the finer filmmakers of this modern age. Even though his resume is a short one, each one of his films has been fantastic. Vallee is one of those directors who does not stick to one particular genre, but rather goes after different stories in different time periods and genres. And while he might not be as drastic as Stanley Kubrick in this fashion, the comparison is still there.

Houses-October-Built-Poster-740x493

Distributor Image Entertainment managed to snag the North American rights to the horror ‘The Houses October Built”, and will release it simultaneously in theaters and for video-on-demand, as is the norm. The horror tells the story of five friends who set off on a road trip to visit haunted house attractions, only to come face to face with something more blood-curdling than fake thrills.

Hey guys, Jana here,

nyfflogo2014_main

The New York Film Festival is one of the highlights in the festival circuit. It’s an excellent place for a filmmaker to get a lot of exposure. Writer-Director Paul Thomas Anderson has landed the big centerpiece gala for the third time with ‘Inherent Vice‘, Anderson achieved the same trophy position with ‘Boogie Nights‘ and ‘Punch-Drunk Love‘. Many filmmakers use the festival circuit to promote new film and Anderson is no stranger to the scene. ‘The Master‘ was viewed only a handful of times in the US before it’s competition appearance at Venice in 2012 and ‘There Will Be Blood‘ world-premiered at Fantastic Fest in 2007.

Hi, Bryan Here….

Mud_poster

Jeff Nichols has done a great job with his third film, ‘Mud‘, bringing us a coming-of-age story of two best friends in the south who bond with a homeless fugitive on the run. With amazing performances, a great script, and solid story structure, this tiny tale of love, confidence, and second chances might just win at the box office in due time with positive word-of-mouth.
