Film Review: ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 18th, 2015

Hi everyone, Bryan Here….

share_1200x627

I can’t believe it’s finally here. Ten years since the last ‘Star Wars‘ movie, which was ‘Episode III‘ by George Lucas. In the decade that followed, we all thought we would never see another ‘Star Wars‘ feature film again, since Lucas himself destroyed and ruined the prequel trilogy and continued to alter the original trilogy to dried up mess of movies that are almost unrecognizable. Fortunately for every ‘Star Wars‘ fan in the world, he sold his production company that included the rights to ‘Star Wars‘ to Disney for a modest amount of $4 billion.

Fernando’s ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 18th, 2015

Fernando M., Here…

starwarshorizontal

It’s incredibly easy to pick apart a movie and find its flaws.  As you can tell from many of my reviews, I am no stranger to doing this to movies.  I could spend hours talking about what JJ Abrams missed in the new Star Wars movie, where he diverged from cannon, where he asked us to suspend disbelief way too much, where he copied too much from the original trilogy, where he didn’t copy enough from the original trilogy.  But no matter how much you nit pick, THIS IS A FINE FILM AND A WELCOME ADDITION TO THE STAR WARS UNIVERSE!

Hi everyone, Bryan Here….

starwarsTFA3-970-80

Very early this morning, Disney released yet another trailer for ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens‘, which is an international trailer, but still in English. There is a ton of new footage here and it looks just AWESOME. I can’t wait. December can’t come fast enough. May the force be with you all.

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

starwarsposter.0

I can’t believe that a new ‘Star Wars‘ movie is just a couple months away. Disney has just released the movie’s official poster, and no this is not the teaser poster from last year. This is the main event poster, the one you’ll want hanging in that prime spot above your fire place where all your fellow ‘Star Wars’ friends can admire it.

Hey guys, Jana here,

Star Wars The Force Awakens_2 by Paul Shipper

Star Wars‘ faithfuls can’t seem to get enough of tearing apart the few scenes we’ve been privy to thus far from the trailer, in an effort to keep their tongues wagging, a new teaser was debuted for ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens‘ today on Instagram which features John Boyega’s character, Finn hefting a blue lightsaber in a face off with Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren.

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

The ‘Star Wars‘ Celebration is currently going on in California right now, and to kick things off, J.J. Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy came out to discuss the new ‘Star Wars‘ film. They brought out the new actors John  Boyega, Oscar Isaac, and Daisy Ridley to talk about their characters. And at the end, Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), and Anthony Daniel (C3PO) came out as well. Then, they surprised us with a brand new trailer.

Hi everyone, Bryan Here….

I’m certainly glad J.J. Abrams and Disney are releasing the first trailer for the upcoming new ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens‘ film in theaters, rather than online. I mean, it’s ‘Star Wars‘. It deserves to be on the big screen. What do we know so far? We know that Disney has chosen 30 theaters across the nation that will show the 88-second trailer before each movie playing this Thanksgiving weekend.

There are a ton of different ‘Star Wars‘ related movies and TV shows nowadays that it’s kind of difficult to keep up with a lot of the different stories being told now. On the kids-friendly version of the ‘Star Wars‘ franchise is the LEGO ‘Star Wars‘ movies, TV shows, and even video games. This brings us to ‘The Freemaker Adventures‘, which is an animated LEGO show that has only two seasons so far with a few animated shorts to go along with it. There is no sign of a third season in sight though, so this season two might be the last we see of this series.

Blu-ray Review: ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Mar 25th, 2018

THE FILM

There is always hope for a new ‘Star Wars‘ movie. Two years ago with ‘The Force Awakens‘, Disneyand JJ Abrams reinvigorated the franchise into becoming the #1 movie of all time. Not only was it financially successful, but it brought a new love to the film series, since the prequels almost destroyed all that ‘Star Wars‘ had built up since 1977. It was a new day in the ‘Star Wars‘ universe with new characters crossing paths with our favorite original characters, which made our collective nerdy hearts soar with happiness and nostalgia.

Hey guys, Jana here,

The next chapter in the Star Wars saga is heading our way December 15, 2017 from director Rian Johnson (‘Looper‘). Having taken her first steps into a larger world in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens‘, Rey continues her epic journey with Finn, Poe, and Luke Skywalker in the next chapter of the saga.

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

A week or two ago, there was a disturbance in the force as Kathleen Kennedy, LucasFilm, and Disney fired their Star Wars IX director Colin Trevorrow. You can read about that HERE. Turns out, the studio execs couldn’t handle having a big creative force behind Star Wars. The search was on for another director. Were they gonna go with another indie filmmaker with good credentials or play it safe like they did when they replaced Miller and Lord with the capable Ron Howard?

John Boyega Set to Star in ‘Pacific Rim’ Sequel!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 6th, 2016

Hi everyone, Bryan Here….

John_Boyega_97807

Yes, we are finally getting that ‘Pacific Rim‘ sequel we have always wanted, but again, it won’t be directed by Guillmero Del Toro. Instead, it will be directed by Steven S. DeKnight, who is more into TV Series, than films. Actually, this is DeKnight’s first feature film, and a mighty big one at that. DeKnight, Del Toro, and Legendary Pictures have set John Boyega to star in the sequel.
