Hey guys, Jana here,

Fast and Furious 6

J.J. Abrams is no longer controlling the bridge of the USS Enterprise and is handing off command of ‘Star Trek 3‘ to Justin Lin, director of 4 films in the Fast and Furious franchise. Abrams had to step down  from directing the tertiary project due to his commitment  as director for ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens‘.

Roberto Orci was in the director’s chair for a short time before Lin was signed. This would have made Orci’s directorial debut, but as it stands, he is slated as co-writer for the sequel with Patrick McKay and John D. Payne. He is producing with Abrams and David Ellison’s Skydance Prods. The second film in the re-booted ‘Star Trek‘ series grossed $467 million worldwide.
