So the next season of Big Love will start on HBO on January 16th, 2011.  But sadly it will be its final season.  Last season we ended with the family announcing who they really are to the public.  It was a short season, by about three or four episodes.  Hopefully, we will get a full 12-13 episode season for its final season.

The Lovebirds – Film Review (Netflix)!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 21st, 2020

“The Lovebirds is a great addition to the romantic comedy genre.”

A once-loving relationship is gasping for its last breath of life as Jabril (Kumail Nanjiani) and Leilani (Issa Rae) are forced to spend their final night as a couple on a whirlwind escapade of murder, law enforcement, and aristocratic orgies in Michael Showalter’s latest film – The Lovebirds.

THE BIG SHOW SHOW – Netflix Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Apr 6th, 2020

“The Big Show Show has just become champion and let’s hope it’s a multi-year reign on Netflix.”

Weeellllllllllllll…It’s The Big Show – Show! Netflix has become a tag team partner as of late with the giant pro-wrestling company WWE and has delivered on a brand new sitcom called The Big Show Show that stars The Big Show (Paul Wight II) from WWE, the famous and iconic wrestling superstar who was billed at a towering 7’1 tall man walking and weighing at 500 pounds. In the wrestling business, he was the next Andre the Giant. This Netflix sitcom pays homage to the early 1990s Nickelodeon and Primetime network shows that kids of the 70s and 80s grew up with.

What Love Looks Like – Film Review!

by Janet White on Mar 28th, 2020

Hello Everyone, Janet W. here…

” Cute, quirky, and inspiring to not give up on love.”

Merriam-Webster defines love as “attraction based on sexual desire: affection and tenderness felt by lovers.”  Alex Magaña, director and writer of What Love Looks Like, accepts the challenge to bring love’s truth to the big screen.  In many hues, love is one of humankind’s most sought-after life goals.  Five relationships, each of them different in their understanding of love, what it feels like to receive love and what it means to give love, set out to show that though the paths may be different love is out there. Film Review: ‘The Cloverfield Paradox’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Feb 5th, 2018

Going into ‘The Cloverfield Paradox‘, which should be renamed to ‘The Cloverfield Potato‘, I was a huge fan of this movie universe and its mythology. With 2008’s ‘Cloverfield‘, I loved the use of handheld cameras and the found footage aspect to tell this crazy story of a giant creature wreaking havoc on everyone and everything in New York, despite the annoying characters. Some years later, we got a film set in the same universe with ‘10 Cloverfield Lane‘, which had us holed up with John Goodman and couple other great characters where something terrible was happening outside their underground bunker, just as something equally awful was happening underground. JJ Abrams had announced a third film some years ago that would take place in this ‘Cloverfield‘ universe, but went thru many delays and a ton of titles, including ‘The God Particle‘.

Blu-ray Review: The Big Sick!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 27th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

THE FILM

The Film portion is written by Beka Perlstein:

If The Big Sick isn’t on your must see movie list, do yourself a favor and rewrite the list. This film is the real life love story of how actor/comedian Kumail Nanjiani (Silicon Valley) met his girlfriend and (spoiler alert) now wife, Emily Gordon. It’s not another Fault in Our Stars or Me Before You, it’s so much more than a love sick story. Behind the romantic comedy model is a story about a Pakistani immigrant who is struggling with identity, relationships, family, career and religion. To put it simply- he’s just trying to figure out this thing we call life.

by Janet White on May 22nd, 2017

Hello Everyone, Janet W. here…

The Lovers - Waking Kiss

Love is eternal. But what happens when love grows dim? Michael (Tracy Letts) and Mary (Debra Winger) have been married for several years. They share a home, a bed, etc., but they barely speak and refuse to look at each other. In fact, they each are having affairs. Can love be restored? The Lovers gets real interesting when Michael and Mary ignite a spark between them. Read the rest of this entry »

Dan M., Here….

fast-and-furious-04252011

I saw The Fast and The Furious when I was 14 or 15. As someone who grew up watching Point Break on VHS and other 80s/90s action movies it was right in my wheel house. I have never been a car guy but I still remember that summer talking with my friends about Honda Civics, Nos, and spoilers that we’d all be getting when we turned 16. The first movie is a step by step remake of Point Break, right down to letting the “bad guy” go at the end with “I owe you a 10 second car” instead of “Vaya Con Dios.” It stared two relatively unknowns in Paul Walker and Vin Diesel who will never be confused with Daniel Day Lewis but were born to play these parts. Ultimately was a fun summer popcorn movie that no one thought they’d hear from again, let alone turn into an almost 4 billion dollar franchise.

Movie Quotes

[Captain Typho is trying to talk Padme out of leaving Coruscant without protection]
Captain Typho:
My Lady, let me come with you.
Padmé:
There is no danger. The fighting is over, and... this is personal.
[Typho bows]
Captain Typho:
As you wish, My Lady... but I strongly disagree.
Padmé:
I'll be all right, Captain. This is something I must do myself. Besides, Threepio will look after me.
C-3PO:
Oh, dear.
