The Bishop Charlotte Reporting….

HBO’s big on breaking the barriers, and they’re not about to stop now. China Doll, the new show from Mark V. Olsen and Will Scheffer, the creators of Big Love (a show about polygamy), is about a multiracial family…and their robot.

The show will cover issues like the effect of technology on our society as well as family dramas. A California construction subcontractor and his Chinese-American university professor wife try to deal with the cultures of two extended families on two continents. And they have a robot.

The creators insist that this is not a sci-fi program. It is set in the present day, so it will be interesting to see how the robot’s presence is explained.

No actors attached yet. More as this develops.
