Slam, shuffle, shuffle, creak, shuffle, and plop. Bad Times at the El Royale skillfully opens with a sensory experience and a blank screen effectively peaking audience’s curiosity (Good job Sound team!). Felix (Nick Offerman) frantically hid a secret and, as expected, was murdered. Fast-forward roughly 15 years; Darlene Sweet (Cynthia Erivo) and Father Daniel Flynn (Jeff Bridges) meet literally on the state line between Nevada and California, which is straddled by the El Royale. The meeting was apprehensive yet playful. Rounding out the known inhabitants of the hotel are Laramie Seymour Sullivan (Jon Hamm), a traveling vacuum salesman; Miles Miller (Lewis Pullman), the front desk clerk; and Emily Summerspring (Dakota Johnson), a mysterious wildcat with sharp claws. Blu-ray Review: ‘A Wrinkle In Time’!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 30th, 2018

THE FILM

(This film portion was written by Beka Perlstein!)

I really wanted to like A Wrinkle in Time more than I did. I gave it my best shot, but in the end, the only thing I can honestly say was that it had lots of great colors. Perhaps it was my high expectations for a Disney film, plus Oprah Winfrey and Mindy Kaling that set me up for disappointment, but regardless, I was left feeling let down in a film that I knew practically nothing about. I have never read the 1962 Madeleine L’Engle novel, so I honestly had no clue what the plot was but whatever, it’s Disney, it’s gonna be good. Well…

Hey guys, Jana here,

la-et-hc-20170221

When it comes to a well-oiled machine like the Star Wars world, things are expected to flow smoothly without too many hiccups in an already-proven process. However bringing new blood into an already established series can sometimes prove to be a bad marriage of good intentions. Such is the case with the stand alone Han Solo spinoff.

Hey guys, Jana here,

tremors-kevin-bacon

When I think of Kevin Bacon, I think of ‘Tremors‘. When I hear Jason Blum, I think kick-ass horror/thriller flicks. Combine the two and what do you get? Kevin Bacon starring in a ‘Tremors‘ TV reboot from Jason Blum!!!!!

Kim L., Here….

I think this is one of the funniest films this year.  Jason Sudeikis and Jennifer Aniston have great on screen chemistry and to add Emma Roberts and Will Poulter makes for a really fun time at the movies. Jason plays David Clark a small time drug dealer that gets robbed trying to help out Will’s character Kenny who is defending Casey played by Emma Roberts.

Hi, Bryan Here….

I wrote a story last month on Robert Rodriguez talking about his plans for the much awaited ‘Sin City’ sequel and ‘Machete’ sequel.  You can read that story HERE.  Well, today Dimension officially announced the ‘Sin City’ sequel which will be titled, ‘Sin City: A Dame To Kill For’.  This is going to be great.  Frank Miller’s story is fantastic and might be my favorite one of the series.  The other stories are being kept under wraps and casting is expected to start next week with most of the original cast returning.  Shooting should being this summer and 3D is a big possibility.  I’m also curious to see if Tarantino will guest direct a scene or two like he did in the first film.
