‘Tower Heist’ Bluray and DVD Announced!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 3rd, 2012

Hi Bryan Here….

The Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy comedy caper has just been announced for home video.  ‘Tower Heist’ will be released on February 21st, 2012 on Bluray and DVD.  From what it looks like, it will come with a digital copy as well as the ultra violet digital copy.  Not sure if this will happen, but usually its either one way or the other.  Not both.  I am very much against the ultra violet streaming service.  Just give me my digital copy on my computer.  I do not want to sign up with a company and stream my movie.  Just get rid of the ultra violet all together.  Some extras include: 2 alternated endings, bloopers, and behind the scenes features.

G. Love and Special Sauce at the House of Blues

by Gumbercules9000 on Mar 20th, 2011

Hi, MD here…

G. Love & Special Sauce is an alternative, blues, hip hop band from Philadelphia. They are known for their unique, “sloppy”, and “laid back” blues sound that encompasses classic R&B.

G. Love (Garrett Dutton) plays several different guitars during a set including one with a “G” engraved in the wood. He also plays the harmonica to add that blues feel into his songs.

You can tell G. Love loves to perform and has fun while doing it! He always does some impromptu free-styling during his set and invites crowd participation. Since this is March Madness, he decided to rap about basketball and then even mention Dirk Nowitzki – being in Dallas, it was like a little shout out to the city he was performing in. The crowd seemed to enjoy the personal touch.

Hi Bryan Here…

Recently, Guillermo’s huge epic film, “At The Mountains Of Madness”  he has been wanting to make was pulled by Guillermo at Universal for reasons that the studio wanted the film to be a PG-13, when Guillermo wanted the film to be an “R” rating.  The film was going to have a $150 million dollar  budget and have an “R” rating.

Zombieland 2 Has Been Written

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 7th, 2010

Since the opening of Zombieland it was clear that a sequel was going to be in the works.  The director Ruben Fleischer will be returning to direct and Rhett Reese and Paul Wenick were put to work to write the sequel.

Well they knocked out a first draft and it seems that the original cast will be back for another tale of Zombieland.  I just do not know yet on how much they will be in the film or if the film will follow another set of survivors.  Ruben also told the press that he might want to explore Zombieland further in the future and also show a few scenes before the outbreak hit.

Ruben is currently filming “30 Minutes or Less” and has got another deal to make a Buddy Action Cop movie for Dreamworks so Zombieland might be a few years away.  But I can breathe easy knowing that Zombieland 2 will happen.

Ruben said this to MTV: “What’s fun about the sequel is we have freedom and flexibility to show different periods. We might have scenes before the zombies, or we might have some months after, or potentially stuff further down the road. Through the voice-over and the way the movie is structured, we can really explore all different sides of it.  When it comes to 3-D, I feel pretty strongly that you should shoot it in camera,” he said. “I feel like it just looks so much better. If you’re going to make a 3-D movie, go ahead and make a 3-D movie. I would definitely, if we do  “Zombieland 2″, make it in 3-D and want to shoot it in 3-D.”

I wonder if in Zombieland 2 we will get another kick-ass cameo.  It is hard to beat Bill Murray.  It would be great if they ran into Bruce Campbell.

The Saddest Moments in TV History!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 17th, 2019

Days are getting shorter and it’s starting to feel slightly cooler outside. It’s the end of summer and the beginning of autumn where leaves start to fall and orange spiced everything is available for mass consumption. This new season also signifies going back to school, starting something new whether it be a different job or living in another city. Whatever the case may be, it’s for sure an emotional ride.

Thank goodness for entertaining television though, right?

Aladdin (2019) 4K UHD Blu-ray Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 12th, 2019

Of course, Disney is on top of the world right now. Their multi-billion-dollar box office numbers are astounding. The studio is releasing a ton of movies a year from kids films and Star Wars to Marvel superhero action blockbusters. This also includes live-action remakes of their beloved classic animated movies. Even though these remakes started a long time ago, their first real, big step into this medium was in 2015 with Cinderella (I hated it). From that terrible motion picture, albeit a strong financial success, we have gotten multitudes of these live-action movies with The Jungle Book, Dumbo, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, and of course now Aladdin (a remake of the excellent and most-treasured 1992 animated movie).

Batman 30th Anniversary – 4K UHD Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 11th, 2019

In 1989, the birth of summer blockbusters became real with Tim Burton’s Batman. Before that, the superhero genre was not the behemoth it was today with A-list actors, 9-figure budgets, and compelling dramatic tones. In fact, it was quite the opposite. Us comic books fans had to settle for slapstick one-liners in low budget sets and costumes to get our favorite heroes on screen. It wasn’t until that summer where everything changed and paved the way for films like X-Men, the MCU, and Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight franchise. It was a strange decision too, but Warner Bros. and DC Comics decided on the young filmmaker Tim Burton to take on the large budget and big named comic book adaptation of Batman. Until then, Burton had only done Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure and Beetlejuice.

by Gumbercules9000 on May 10th, 2019

Pet Sematary‘ comes back to life with a brand new 2160p 4K UHD image with Dolby Vision and looks and sounds excellent. It’s like watching the film all over again. Stephen King’s excellent novel was adapted in 1989 by director Mary Lambert that focuses on the Creed family moving to the country for a better life where loss, death and family all play a gruesome and horrific part. There are new bonus features as well as some vintage extras imported over here. What an amazing release. Highly Recommended!

Dragged Across Concrete – Film Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Apr 19th, 2019

Dragged Across Concrete is the third film from S. Craig Zahler that focuses on two police detectives (Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn) who are put on suspension and are looking to make some extra money to support their families, even if it means doing something dangerous off the grid. It’s a fantastic film for sure. The 1080p HD transfer, DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio mix, and two excellent bonus features are all worth your time. Highly Recommended!

THE FILM

Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is back, but this time he has a fellowship of web-warriors from other dimensions to save the day. In a market currently flooded with Marvel, one might scoff at the idea that ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse‘ has anything new to offer, but prepare for a fresh spin on this radioactive world. Movie Quotes

Morgan O'Mally:
Double Burger.
[singing]
Morgan O'Mally:
Chuck, I had a double burger!
Chuckie Sullivan:
Will you shut the fuck up? I know what you ordered, I was there.
Morgan O'Mally:
So give me my fucking sandwich.
Chuckie Sullivan:
What do you mean your sandwich? I bought it. Hey Morgan, how much money you got on you?
Morgan O'Mally:
I said I'd give you the change when we ordered the Sno-Cones when we pulled up, so why don't you give me my sandwich and stop being a prick.
Chuckie Sullivan:
Well why don't you give me your fucking sixteen cents you got on you and we'll put your sandwich on layaway. There you go, keep it right up here for you, We'll put you on a program. Everyday you bring your six cents and at the end of the week you'll get your sandwich.
Morgan O'Mally:
Why do you have to be such an asshole?
Chuckie Sullivan:
What am I, fuckin' sandwich welfare? I think you should establish a good line of credit. Like how you bought your couch, payment plans. Remember how your mother brought in $10 everyday for a year and she finally got her couch Rent-A-Center Style?
Morgan O'Mally:
Can I have my food now please?
Chuckie Sullivan:
[throws the burger at Morgan] Here's your fucking double burger!
