Hi everyone, Bryan here….

M. Night Shyamalan was the next greatest filmmaker in the world. With films like The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, and Signs – the talented filmmaker was set to be the next Spielberg, Lucas, Scorsese, Hitchcock, and Gilliam combined into one person. It was working for him. Then, Shyamalan went on a “bender” and made a ton of shitty films, but I do believe this was a case of Hollywood taking control and not letting him do anything creative.

It’s almost time for new episodes of ‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’ to air on Netflix, which is why we have a Season 3 teaser trailer, and it’s all sorts of fun. Titus Andromendon (Tituss Burgess) turns into Beyonce, making Lemonade to talk about Season 3. It made me laugh.

Hey guys, Jana here,

The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt‘ is back for season 2! Well, not until April 15, but you get my gist. The series has been renewed for not just a second season, but a third, as well by Netflix. The good thing is, you have about a month to binge the first season of Kimmy Schmidt, played by Ellie Kemper, to get all caught up for the second from Tina Fey and Robert Carlock.

Riding high on the coat tails of Tina Fey’s final Golden Globe’s hosting gig, Netflix has released the first trailer for their new show from Fey and Robert Carlock (writer for ‘Friends‘, ‘Saturday Night Live‘ and ‘30 Rock‘). ‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt‘ was originally conceived for a run on NBC, but Netflix swooped in for the rights once NBC backed out.

Unbreakable 2 Is Going To Happen

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 3rd, 2010

M. Night Shyamalan sat down with MTV and discussed his Night Chronicles.  First one being the upcoming horror film “DEVIL“.  You have probably seen the trailer with everyone trapped on the elevator.  There will be three movies from this Night Chronicles series.  The second film in this series will be called “Twelve Strangers” which will be about a jury dealing with a case of the supernatural.  Sounds like a horror film of “Twelve Angry Men”.  And the third film will be Unbreakable 2.

Now with these movies, M. Night is not writing them nor directing them which will probably make tons of people happy given his recent efforts.  I differ though.  I liked all of his films with the exception of Lady in the Water and the most recent Airbender film.  Yes I even liked The Happening.

Here is an exceprt of what M. Night said.

“I cannibalized the idea for the sequel to ‘Unbreakable’ for one of the ‘Night Chronicles,'” revealed Shyamalan.

“It was such a cool idea for a villain, and it was actually originally in the script for ‘Unbreakable,’ and it was too much,” he said of his reasons for excising the element that was intended to become “Unbreakable 2.” “There were too many villains, so I pulled this villain out and was like, ‘I’ll make this the second flick. I fleshed it out more and more, and thought, ‘This could be a standalone movie.”

I always thought that Unbreakable was one of the best films to come out in the last decade.  I still stand by that.

‘Glass’ – Blu-ray Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Apr 30th, 2019

Finally, we got the conclusion to M. Night Shyamalan’s superhero opus with Glass, which was the third film in his amazing trilogy that was preceded by Unbreakable and Split. This new film brings back pretty much every single character from each film for the ultimate showdown and twist and Shyamalan did it perfectly. The 1080p HD video is wonderful and the killer Dolby Atmos track is something special. There is a ton of bonus features, but zero commentary tracks. This is a MUST-OWN Blu-ray!

‘Glass’ – Film Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 16th, 2019

I genuinely loved every single second of M. Night Shyamalan’s film ‘Glass’. It was the perfect end to a trilogy he started almost 20 years ago with ‘Unbreakable’. Since ‘Unbreakable’ debuted some 19 years ago, we have had a giant influx of superhero films with ‘X-Men’ films, the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, and now the DC Comics franchise of films. I would like to say that this whole comic book craze mostly started with Shyamalan’s ‘Unbreakable’, which was his followup film to his breakout hit ‘The Sixth Sense’. Since then, we’ve come to learn and expect a certain level filmmaking and performances from superhero movies, mostly due to the phenomenal structure and execution of all the Marvel movies. There’s definitely a pattern there and it sticks the landing each and every time.

LP Review: ‘Luke Cage Season 2’ Soundtrack!

by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 8th, 2018

Marvel is certainly on a roll with their content over this past decade with their billion dollar movies and their successful television shows across multiple platforms. One of these shows is called ‘Luke Cage‘, which just debuted its second season on Netflix. Luke Cage was the first black superhero in comic books to be featured as the main protagonist with his name as the title. Cage is an ex-convict who was imprisoned for a crime he did not commit who was experimented on, thus creating his superpowers of strength and unbreakable skin. Once he hones in on these powers, he basically becomes a hero for hire and is one of the coolest characters in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Film Review: ‘Death Wish’ (2018)!

by Gumbercules9000 on Mar 1st, 2018

Filmmaker Eli Roth is passionate about the horror and thriller genre since he was young. His big debut film was Cabin Fever, and then went on to the successful hyper-violent ‘Hostile’ film series. More recently, he made ‘Green Inferno‘, which was similar to ‘Cannibal Holocaust‘. Needless to say, Roth isn’t subtle in his filmmaking, as he’s shown close up gore and torture on screen with an over-the-top style. When it was announced that Roth was sitting in the director’s chair for a remake of 1974’s classic film ‘Death Wish‘, that replaces Charles Bronson with Bruce Willis, I was excitedly intrigued to see his take on this iconic film. With writer Joe Carnahan (The Grey, Narc, Smokin’ Aces) penning the script, this updated version of ‘Death Wish‘ is quite toned down for Eli Roth’s resume, which isn’t a bad thing.

The Angry Birds Movie‘ made such a giant splash for Rovio Entertainment Ltd. that a sequel has been announced. This one is kind of a “Duh!” move, but I’m glad it’s officially in the works. I think I probably enjoyed the movie more than my kids did, but it was something we kept talking about for a few days after. Read the rest of this entry »

Film Review: ‘The Visit’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 9th, 2015

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

the-visit-06

Finally, we have M. Night Shyamlan back in rare form with his new horror-comedy film ‘The Visit‘, which definitely doesn’t look like a Shyamalan movie at all. In fact, this is one of those “found footage” movies that rejuvenates this sub-genre of filmmaking once again. The world was introduced to M. Night Shyamalan back in 1999 with his hit film ‘The Sixth Sense‘, which quickly led the young director to superstardom as one of the coolest and imaginative directors of this modern era. Not only that, but he re-invented the “twist ending” again, which became a trademark of his down the road.
