Hey guys, Jana here,

Gervais_01_1338413a

Ricky Gervais made an announcement today that will rock the world of fans of the original UK mockumentary ‘The Office‘. Gervais appeared on ‘the ‘Opie with Jim Norton Show‘ and dropped the news that he has another film coming up titled ‘David Brent: Life On The Road‘ and Netflix will be it’s home. Gervais has a great outlook on the project landing at Netflix , he’d rather 20 million people see it than half a million in theaters because he will be able to do tours off the back of it.

Q & A with Ricky Gervais!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Apr 4th, 2012

Hi, Bryan Here….

Over the past hour, Ricky Gervais did a Q& A on HBO and we managed to get several questions in for the comedic genius to answer.  Ricky has a lot of projects coming up with some that are currently on HBO.  I had no idea Gervais wanted to get whacked on ‘The Sopranos’.  Catch his show ‘Life’s Too Short’ on HBO.   That’s genius.  Below is the full interview.  Enjoy.

Will Ricky Gervais Host the Golden Globes?

by Gumbercules9000 on Nov 15th, 2011

There is some speculation on this point. According to Gervais, NBC has invited him, but the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) has yet to extend a formal proposal. Gervais has twice hosted the Golden Globes awards, but his blunt, equal-opportunity-slammer style does not appeal to everyone.

After Life Season 2 – Netflix Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Apr 24th, 2020

“This second season is the perfect continuation and end to Gervais’ story.”

Big laughs and many tears are in the cards with the second season of the impressive little Netflix series After Life that has Ricky Gervais directing, writing, and starring in each episode in what feels like a very personal story. It’s a brilliantly affecting series that has a perfect balance of hilarious comedy and emotional moments that are earned every step of the way and conjure up deep feelings to let close ones simply know how much they’re loved. This second season is the perfect continuation and end to Gervais’ story, although a third season would be much welcomed.

Hey guys, Jana here,

littleprince_rated-online_1sht

The animated feature film ‘The Little Prince‘ is based on the 1943 book by Antoine de Saint-Exupery and was originally planned to open in theaters today, but it’s been pulled from the lineup and will see a release date through Netflix for online streaming. The film received a July release date last year in France and, just last month, it was awarded the Cesar Award for best animated film.

by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 10th, 2015

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

The awards show is January 10 on NBC hosted by Ricky Gervais. First off, let’s look at something AWESOME here. ‘MAD MAX: FURY ROAD‘ is nominated for BEST PICTURE. It needs to win. It should win. And if does win, we all go streaking. That being said…I can’t believe that ‘Me and Earl and the Dying Girl‘ was not nominated for anything. Come on. It’s one of the BEST films of the year. It’s also interesting to see no love for the final season of ‘Mad Men’ her either. Oh well.

Here is the list of nominees:

Blu-ray Review: ‘Muppets Most Wanted’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 14th, 2014

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

MuppetsMostWantedBlurayCombo_jpg_rgb

THE FILM

It’s very difficult to find a sequel that’s as good as the original. There aren’t a lot out there that are great sequels, but when they do come along, they are remembered forever. And maybe what worked so well for the first Muppet film that starred Jason Segel and Amy Adams is that it had a human element to it, and didn’t just follow the Muppets around. That’s not to say that this sequel ‘Muppets: Most Wanted‘ isn’t a lot of fun and very entertaining. It is, but it doesn’t have that magic that the last one had.

Jana B., Here….

Streetmagic-david blaine

There are certain types of entertainment where you can have several favorites. You can listen to multiple bands that fit into the same genre. But when it comes to performance magic, I believe you’re either a Copperfield or a David Blaine fan. Personally, I’m a David Copperfield girl, not the tortured waif. Yes, the one with the hair and the face. Him. So, I never jumped on the whole David Blaine band wagon. After all, there are only so many ‘David’s’ a girl can love.  While David Tennant takes up most of my space, David Copperfield occupies a portion. Anyhow, as I was saying.

Hi, Bryan Here….

It’s just about here, folks. Stephen Merchant’s upcoming comedy series for HBO now has its first trailer, and it looks hilarious. As we’ve previously reported, Merchant plays an awkward Englishman looking for love in Los Angeles. The show will debut on September 29 and this little trailer shows Merchant and Nate Torrence trying to talk to ladies in a club in the city. The results are satisfying.

Louis CK Will Return to HBO For New Stand-Up Special!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Nov 12th, 2012

Hi, Bryan Here….

Red-hot comedy star Louis CK will return to HBO next year in an all-new stand-up comedy special, it was announced today by Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming. To be taped at one of the stops of his sold-out 16-city tour, which wraps in February, the exclusive presentation will be his second hour-long special on the network and will be directed by Louis CK.  I’m very excited about this.  I recently saw Louis live in Dallas, and he was amazing.  My cheeks hurt I was laughing so hard.  I’m curious to see if any of his material makes it to the HBO special.

Hi, Bryan Here….

We previously reported that HBO greenlit a pilot episode for Merchant’s ‘Hello Ladies’ series, but now, HBO must be very happy with the project, because it just got picked up for a 1st season consisting of 8 episodes.  The pilot was co-written, directed, and stars Stephen Merchant.  The series centers on Merchant as a gawky Englishman searching for the woman of his dreams in Los Angeles. Half as charming as he thinks he is — and twice as desperate — he’s obsessed with infiltrating the glamorous world of beautiful people. Unfortunately the beautiful people won’t let him in according to Deadline.

Captain Typho:
My Lady, let me come with you.
Padmé:
There is no danger. The fighting is over, and... this is personal.
[Typho bows]
Captain Typho:
As you wish, My Lady... but I strongly disagree.
Padmé:
I'll be all right, Captain. This is something I must do myself. Besides, Threepio will look after me.

Oh, dear.
