Woody Harrelson is ‘Wilson’!
Hi everyone, Bryan here…
Woody Harrelson is having a few big years and for good reason. The guy is just genuinely likable and a badass. His next big film is called ‘Wilson‘ and will premiere at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. ‘Wilson‘ is directed by Craig Johnson (‘Skeleton Twins‘), written by Daniel Clowes (‘Art School Confidential‘, ‘Ghost World‘), and produced by Alexander Payne (‘Election‘, ‘Sideways‘, ‘About Schmidt‘, ‘The Descendants‘, ‘Nebraska‘). Need I say, “HOLY SHIT”, what a cast and crew already. If that weren’t enough, you can add Laura Dern, Judy Greer, and Cheryl Hines to the cast as well. Fox Searchlight now has a trailer and new poster for the film, which looks excellent.

Woody Harrelson In Talks To Mentor A Young Han Solo??!!
Hey guys, Jana here,
Woody Harrelson has been all over lately, we’ve seen him in ‘The Hunger Games‘ films, ‘LBJ‘, ‘Triple 9‘, and ‘The Duel‘. One place I’d never thought he would be is in the ‘Star Wars‘ world. However he’s in talks to play Han Solo’s mentor in the spinoff featuring Alden Ehrenreich in the role of the scruffy, nerf-herder himself.
Woody Harrelson and Sam Rockwell Joins ‘Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri’!!!
Hey guys, Jana here,
Martin McDonagh is the mastermind behind the stellar hit from 2008, ‘In Bruges‘, as both writer and director, he created a hilarious, witty film that I just adored. I’m thrilled to discover hes the same force bringing ‘Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri‘ to life, with start of production set for April.
Matthew McConaughey & Woody Harrelson Set To Star In Cop Drama Series!!!
Hi, Bryan Here….
A buddy cop drama series starring Matthew McConaughey & Woody Harrelson is in the works currently for a cable channel. The project is title ‘True Detective’ and will consist of eight episodes. Nic Pizzolatto will write the series with Cary Fukunaga (Jane Eyre) directing the entire series.
Woody Harrleson Joins Casey Affleck in ‘Triple Nine’!!
Hi Jana here,
Woody Harrelson has always had an in-demand acting career, but it seems that he was never so popular as he is now. Everywhere you look, things are turning up Woody. Harrelson joins the cast of ‘Triple Nine‘, a heist-thriller directed by John Hillcoat. Hillcoat brought us some massive hits like ‘The Road‘ and 2012’s massive hit ‘Lawless‘.
Film Review: ‘Venom’!
Venom is the latest example of a movie trying to be too many things. I don’t know if we need to blame the writers, director, or studio tinkering but somehow this movie attempts to be everything to everyone and fails miserably. That isn’t to say its a bad time at the movies, I actually truly enjoyed some aspects of Venom. I think if the movie focused on trying to do one thing instead of a million it may have been one of the best comic book movies in years. Instead, as a whole, it should be launched into space.
WARNING: THIS REVIEW WILL HAVE SPOILERS
Film Review: ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’!
Disney is on a roll these days with their recent ‘Star Wars‘ franchise. Not only do we have the new Episodes, but we are getting spin-off movies that focus on a singular story from the past or a certain character. One character that we all have loved from the original trilogy, but don’t know a great deal about is Han Solo. Sure, we know he was a smuggler, is an anti-hero, loved the princess, and helped save the Galaxy with his wookie partner Chewbacca, as they flew from planet to planet on the iconic Millennium Falcon. Through the original trilogy, we heard small lines of dialogue that gave us the tiniest glimpse at his background and life before he met Obi-Wan and Luke. Fortunately, we now have ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story‘ to answer all of those questions for us.
Jana’s Best of 2017!!!
Hey guys, Jana here,
I know these “Best of 2017” lists should technically be published in 2017, but why would I start 2018 any differently than I lived the majority of my adult life: Procrastinating and underachieving. What can I say? That’s my wheelhouse.
For a year that put a spotlight on some of the shittiest behavior by some of the Hollywood elite, it was actually a good year for TV and movies. I didn’t limit myself in number because as I moved on with the brackets, I felt like I was making ‘Sophie’s Choice‘ on some of these, so they’re all getting in! I’m feeling my inner-Oprah here, You’ve made the list! You made the list! EVERYBODY made the list!! In order to spare myself any arguments, I’m stating up front that my picks for the “Best of 2017” are not edited in regards to scandal or hideous human behavior.
Favorite Movies of 2017!
Was 2017 a great year for movies? Of course it was. There were some excellent films to be released in 2017. There were also some bad ones for sure, but the focus on this article are some of the Best films that stuck with me long after viewing. Most people will give you their Top 10 list, but this is no Top 10, because there are just so many movies that I loved and feel passionate about, that I find it difficult and unpleasing to rank them.
Instead, these are my favorite movies of 2017, which I hope you’ve seen already. If you haven’t yet, you’re in for a real treat and I can’t wait for you to see them. Some of these films are still in theaters, while some are on Netflix, 4K UHD, and Blu-ray, so you’ll be able to quickly see any of these if you haven’t. I watched over 270 movies that were released in 2017 and these are my absolute favorites. I hope you get to see all of these, because I know you’ll love them. In no particular order…..
Blu-ray Review: The Glass Castle!
THE FILM
You probably have heard the name Jeannette Walls. She is a journalist that was known for her Gossip column for MSNBC, but she is now known world-wide for her amazing novel ‘The Glass Castle‘, which was a memoir about her life growing up with her dysfunctional family. Her novel stayed on the Best Seller list for 261 weeks. If you think about that’s about four years and yes, it’s that good. Of course, Hollywood made a movie about it, which was directed by the amazing Destin Daniel Cretton (Short Term 12) and starred Brie Larson, Woody Harrelson, and Naomi Watts.

Hailed as “one of the must-see movies of 2017” by Vanity Fair, ‘The Glass Castle‘ chronicles the adventures of a young girl growing up in a dysfunctional family of nonconformist nomads. From the producer of ‘The Shack‘ and ‘The Blind Side‘, the film also stars Oscar Nominee Naomi Watts (Best Actress, ‘The Impossible‘) and Golden Globe Nominee Max Greenfield (Best Supporting Actor – ‘Television‘, ‘New Girl‘).
Film Review #2 – War For The Planet of the Apes!
Dan M., here….
War For the Planet of the Apes is the best movie I have seen this summer. It is astonishingly well done. Every aspect of this movie *at a minimum* worked. Some of the basic moments and scenes would be considered high points for lesser franchises. There is a ton to spoil in this film but I will not be doing that in this review. Hopefully in a few weeks once people have seen the movie we can discuss the moments that made this movie so damn good in greater detail.
Film Review: War For The Planet of the Apes!
Hi everyone, Bryan here….
I believe we all thought that Tim Burton killed the Planet of the Apes franchise back in 2001 with his horrible version of man vs. ape. Luckily in 2011, the studio breathed new life into the franchise with Rupert Wyatt’s early telling of what is to become with Planet of the Apes with astonishing visual effects, acting, and one hell of a story. That film – Rise of the Planet of the Apes showed that one ape named Caesar (Andy Serkis) was to become the first highly intelligent and humanized ape, but it came at a great cost with a virus that wiped out most of Earth’s population. In the sequel Dawn of the Planet of the Apes that was taken over by Matt Reeves (Cloverfield), Caesar and his ape friend are battling for their lives against the humans that have survived the virus outbreak. Now we have arrived at the conclusion of this epic trilogy – War For The Planet of the Apes, with Reeves in the director’s chair again as we see an aging and grayish haired Caesar tending to his family and still battling the demons of his former human-hating friend Koba, whom was killed in the previous film.

And Cue the ‘White Men Can’t Jump’ Remake!
Hi everyone, Bryan here…
20th Century Fox is now remaking ‘White Men Can’t Jump‘, which was the 1992 comedy hit that starred Wesley Snipes, Woody Harrelson, and Rosie Perez. The original film was about a couple of street basketball player hustlers, who team up to earn more money. The film was a big success, as it made $91 million. Kenya Barris, who is the creator of the ABC comedy show ‘Black-ish‘ will be teaming up with Los Angeles Clipper Blake Griffin and Carolina Panther Ryan Kalil to remake the film with Barris as the producer and writer of the film. Kalil and Griffin will serve as the other producers, according to THR.

4K UHD Review: ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’!
Hi everyone, Bryan here…
THE FILM
This portion of the review was written by Suzanne Loranc.
Everyone can understand that the second movie in any series can be the problematic middle child of a franchise. They tend to suffer between the spellbinding beginning and the satisfying conclusion. However, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire rises above the usual awkward bridge label with excellent performances and a script that remains faithful to the book to make it a movie that could almost stand on its own.
4K UHD Review: ‘Now You See Me 2’!
Hi everyone, Bryan here…
THE FILM
This film review portion was written by Beka Perlstein of Boomstick Comics.
Life is all about the long game. ‘Now You See Me 2‘ pulls you in from the very beginning and quickly wraps you up in a fun game of cat and mouse with none other than The Four Horsemen. This quirky group of magicians is back from the first flick with one major improvement- Lizzy Caplan has replaced Isla Fisher as the token chick, playing Lula May. She’s funny, spunky and the perfect addition to the otherwise all male ensemble.
‘The Hunger Games’ Collection Arrives On 4K Ultra HD!!!
Hey guys, Jana here,
The blockbuster series that is ‘The Hunger Games’ will arrive on 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack, Blu-ray and Digital HD November 8 from Lionsgate. The films showcase a cast that works fantastically together.
Film Review: ‘Now You See Me 2’!

Film Review: ‘Triple 9’!
Beka P., Here…
Hold onto your seats! Triple 9 is a non-stop action-packed film that definitely delivers. Within the first ten minutes you are sucked into a high intensity bank heist that rolls right into one of the best get away scenes I’ve seen in a long time. It’s so intense that you aren’t really sure where the rest of the movie is going to go, but have no fear, there’s plenty of nail biting left to do.
The ‘Now You See Me 2’ Trailer Is Full of Magic!!!
Hey guys, Jana here,
‘Now You See Me‘ was a really clever, entertaining film, kind of our generation’s ‘Ocean’s Eleven‘, not that one, the first one with Sinatra, Deano and Sammy. It was genius, so I was excited for a sequel and now that we’ve seen the trailer. This one stars Michael Caine, Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Daniel Radcliffe and Mark Ruffalo among others. I’m anticipating the release date, which is all the way in June, but this trailer might hold me over.
‘True Detective’ Season Two Looks Incredible!
Hey guys, Jana here,
Following in the haunted footsteps of the first season of HBO’s award winning ‘True Detective‘, comes a sneak peek for the second season in the gritty, anthology series. Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey blew viewers away and have since been replaced with Vince Vaughn, Rachel McAdams and Colin Farrell.
‘True Detective’ Fans Get Ready For Season 2!!!
Hey guys, Jana here,
HBO grabbed the collective viewers attention with ‘True Detective‘ in 2014. A series that won 5 Emmy Awards and was nominated for so many more accolades that it should have won. Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson and Michelle Monaghan star in the freshman season of the anthology police detective show. The detectives reminesce on a case from 1995 that has been closed as solved. Questions surface that force those involved to dredge up memories from the past, in looking closer at the variables, corruption is evident on both sides of the thin blue line.
Jana’s Best/Worst of 2014!!!
Hey guys, Jana here,
It’s been a big year for the entertainment world. Netflix’s initial push to bring movie-theater worthy films straight to streaming customers and bypassing the big screen altogether set off a chain of deals that will take those fresh releases and push them directly into homes allowing us to bypass a $15.00 soda, but denying us the $20.00 popcorn you can only get at the theater. Then came the deluge of series and movies being made for exclusive run with everyone from Netflix, Amazon to Crackle and everything in between. Top that off with the huge breach of privacy Sony experienced. New releases were flooded onto P2P sharing sites and private emails from the film company’s big wigs that show us how the infrastructure of Sony really works, not to mention what those involved really think of some of their superstars.
And the 2014 Golden Globes Nominations Are….
Hi everyone, Bryan Here….
It is time for the 2014 Golden Globe nominations. The 72nd Golden Globes will be held on Sunday, Jan. 11 and broadcast live at 5 PM PST, 8 PM EST on NBC. It looks like there were quite a few films that were overlooked. What do you think?
Radcliffe and Caplan Cast In ‘Now You See Me 2’!!!
Hey guys, Jana here,
‘Now You See Me‘ was was a 2013 film that featured four magicians answering a mysterious summons that sets the stage for their later roles as The Four Horsemen who manage to pull off a real-time robbery during a stage act. This leads to an investigation by FBI and Interpol agents. I was impressed with the movie, it was a new story with a twist, very original.
Is ‘Zombieland 2’ Dragging Into Theaters?!!!
Hey guys, Jana here,
I’ve got good news and bad news. The good news is if you were hoping for a ‘Zombieland‘ sequel, I can make you very happy today! Bad news – if you want a lot of detail about the continuation of life, love and happiness in an undead world, you’re not going to be as happy.

They have been doing a great job at marketing this film and this trailer only builds on the hype. HBO Eyes Stars For ‘True Detective’ Season 2!!!
Michael Crichton’s Westworld Re-make Features Anthony Hopkins and Evan Rachel Wood!!!
Hey guys, Jana here,
‘True Detective‘ set the bar higher than normal by casting the brilliant Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. HBO has now turned it’s eye to ‘Westworld‘ hoping it will turn out to be as irresistible as ‘True Detective‘. HBO has won a pretty big prize in locking Academy Award winner Anthony Hopkins and Evan Rachel Wood for the primary positions. Writer-Director Michael Crichton made the original ‘Westworld‘ in 1973, Yul Brynner, James Brolin, Dick Van Patten – Yeah, it was a whole thing.
Blu-Ray Review: ‘True Detective’ Season 1′!
Hi everyone, Bryan Here…
THE SERIES
Little did anyone know that one of the darkest and most sadistic shows ever to air on television would grow to be one of the most popular and best shows in television history. HBO’s ‘True Detective‘ is a masterpiece of storytelling with stellar performances from Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson who play police detectives who are trying to solve a grisly murder that spans more than a decade.
Film Review: ‘Out of The Furnace’!!
Hi, Bryan Here…
Scott Cooper’s second film ‘Out of The Furnace‘ has a lot going for it. The script and especially its amazing A-List cast might draw out a decent crowd, but a sour taste might be left in your mouth after the end credits start to roll. Cooper’s first film was ‘Crazy Heart‘ and had some similar somber tones to it as this film does, but it’s nowhere near how brutal ‘Out of the Furnace‘ truly is. But what makes this blue-collar flick ultimately suffer is the amount of filler that has nothing to do with actual premise of the movie and keep the film from moving forward at a steady pace.
Film Review: ‘Hunger Games: Catching Fire’!!
Suzanne L., Here…
Everyone can understand that the second movie in any series can be the problematic middle child of a franchise. They tend to suffer between the spellbinding beginning and the satisfying conclusion. However, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire rises above the usual awkward bridge label with excellent performances and a script that remains faithful to the book to make it a movie that could almost stand on its own.
Check Out The Trailer for HBO’s New Series ‘True Detective’!!!
Hi, Bryan Here…
After you watched ‘Breaking Bad‘ last night and recovered, then before you watched the season opener of HBO’s ‘Boardwalk Empire’, you might have caught the HBO trailer for their new series, ‘True Detective‘, which stars Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. Now that’s an impressive and fun duo right there.
Blu-Ray Review: ‘Seven Psychopaths’!!!
Hi, Bryan Here….
Martin McDonagh’s ‘Seven Psychopaths’ is highly entertaining. I was a huge fan of McDonagh’s ‘In Bruges’ and have since then been wanting more from him. It’s been four years since ‘In Bruges’, which was the last thing McDonagh did, and I can safely say that McDonagh’s writing and directing has only gotten better. McDonagh is the next Tarantino and ’Seven Psychopaths’ is an excellent film.
Film Review: ‘Now You See Me’!!
Hi, Bryan Here….
With a mix of ‘The Illusionist‘ and ‘The Prestige‘, and a healthy dose of ‘Ocean’s 11‘, director Louis Leterrier gives us ‘Now You See Me‘, which is a heist movie involving four magicians. The illusions in the film are over-the-top, but incredible and despite the movie’s flaws, its super fast pace makes its problems disappear from memory. With an all-star cast and decent dialogue, this magical caper might be one of the summer’s biggest surprises.
‘Argo’, ‘Django Unchained’, and HBO’s ‘Girls’ Win Big At Golden Globes!!!
Hi, Bryan Here….
The Golden Globes were last night and Tina Fey and Amy Poehler killed it. They were amazing. Even former president Bill Clinton showed up to talk about Spielberg’s ‘Lincoln‘. Even though I really liked the film ‘Argo‘, I was shocked when it won best film and director for Ben Affleck. I was happy to see ‘Django Unchained‘ win for best supporting actor for Christoph Waltz and screenplay for Tarantino. If this is any pre-cursor to the Oscars, I’d be completely let down if ‘Argo‘ takes it all. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great film, but not the best film of the year. I expect it to and want it to win the best adapted screenplay. Just my opinion. Below are the full results from last night’s show.

2012 Emmy Award Winners!!!
Hi, Bryan Here….
Below is the list of the winners for the 2012 Prime-Time Emmy Award Winners. I don’t see how ‘Modern Family’ and ‘Two and Half Men’ win anything. They shouldn’t win any kind of award when they go up against shows like ‘Mad Men’, ‘Game of Thrones’, and ‘Breaking Bad’. The Emmy judges need to be fired and never allowed to pick winners ever again. However, much congratulations to ‘Homeland’, ‘Downton Abbey’, Aaron Paul, ‘Veep’, and ‘American Horror Story’
2012 Emmy Nominations Are In!!!
Hi, Bryan Here…
The 2012 Emmy nominations are in and if you take notice, there are tons of HBO series, FX’s ‘American Horror Story’, ‘Mad Men’, and Downton Abbey lead the nominations. Congrats to all, and it’s very cool to see a series like ‘American Horror Story’ get so many award nominations.

I know every year, we here at Boomstick HQ broil tons of Crawfish and watch loads of zombie movies. Here is a list of some you might enjoy.
‘Seven Psychopaths’ to be Quite the Ensemble
Martin McDonagh’s new film is turning into a veritable powerhouse of acting. Woody Harrelson (Zombieland), Tom Waits (The Book of Eli), and Olga Kurylenko (Quantum of Solace) have just been signed to join Colin Farrell (Fright Night), Sam Rockwell (Moon) and Christopher Walken (everything) in Seven Psychopaths, a story of dog-napping, drama, and lack of motivation.
Trailer Analysis – The Hunger Games
Translating a book–especially a popular one–to the big screen is a tricky thing. If you’re in need of confirmation on this, just look to the Harry Potter series, where the movies were just as often accused of getting it wrong as they were praised for getting it right. Should the filmmakers be more concerned with producing a good movie or being slavishly reverent to the source material? That’s a difficult question to answer. For my money, the film must be able to stand on its own while not entirely disavowing the core of what made it popular in the first place. The cast and crew must continuously walk a fine line between winning over a new audience and alienating the old one.
That having been said, let’s take a look at the most recent trailer for The Hunger Games. Read the rest of this entry »

119_ House of 1000 Corpses – April 11, 2003
The much anticipated Rob Zombie Horror film. This film went through so much hell to get released. It took about two years. But finally it did. Rob Zombie showed me that he had what it takes to be a director and he also showed his love of horror films. Captain Spaulding is forever a great character in cinema history now. This film is brutal, hilarious, bloody, and all out crazy. Go Rob! Look out for a young Rainn Wilson.
118_ Boiler Room – February 18, 2000
What a great story about an illegal stock broking firm. This movie made me re-think about those pesky sales calls. Great performances from Giovanni Ribisi and Nicky Katt. Kick ass soundtrack too. i love the Ben Affleck speeches in this movie to motivate these young kids to steal people’s money. I would imagine this film hits close to home for some people.
117_ Love Actually – November 7, 2003
The ultimate romantic comedy that does not fail anywhere. I love watching this film. Not only is it filled with love and comedy, it is filled with drama and hurt. The best of both worlds really. All-star cast with cameo appearances by tons of people including Mr. Bean. If you want a great wonderful feel good movie, then watch this.
116_ Grizzly Man – December 5, 2005
What a horrifying documentary about a man who lives with the grizzly bears illegally in Alaska for a decade. Now don’t get me wrong, I laughed a lot in this doc, but ultimately it is a tragic tale. You meet Timothy Treadwell who appears normal and has an unhealthy fascination with bears. His problem is that he thinks they are like humans. Throughout the doc you seem him descent into literal madness where he will never escape which leads to his and his girlfriend’s death. Werner Herzog does a great job with the footage that he is given. A must-see. i just think Timothy’s downfall was that he did not understand nature or the chaos that nature is. You will see it. Remember the bee he thought was dead?
115_ Ong Bak 2 – October – 23, 2009
The follow up to the bad ass thai martial arts film Ong Bak starring Tony Jaa who is the ultimate badass. No stunt wires or special effects either in this film. Jaa is Bruce Lee times 1000. Ong Bak not only stars Jaa but is also directed by him. The fight scenes are beautiful and the direction is beautiful. I just want more Tony Jaa films. Please. Now.
114_ The Mist – November 21, 2007
Stephen King’s amazing book gets the proper treatment from Frank Darabont. I loved this adaptation. This film really did creep me out. If something like this really happened, you better believe some fanatics would come out and start some crazy shit and not help the situation at hand which is that terrifying monsters are trying to eat us. Loved the ending. Also the B &W version on the dvd is great as well.
113_ Sicko – June 29, 2007
Another great documentary from Michael Moore. This man knows what he is talking about. I do believe we need a better healthcare system in this country and what we have now is not working and has not worked. This film is NOT about people WITHOUT healthcare, but rather about people WITH healthcare who DON’T get help because of the insurance companies. It is heartbreaking and funny and very informative. I think everyone should see this documentary.
112_ The Devil’s Rejects – July 22, 2005
The follow up to Rob Zombie’s House of 1000 Corpses which plays out more like Natural Born Killers than a Music Video Horror Film. I loved this film. So much fun and uber uber violent. I think this film still holds the record for most curse words. I really root for the bad guys in this film, because in essence they are a family doing what they do best. Once again Rob Zombie makes a brilliant piece of Horror cinema to last forever. Great dialogue that will make you gut bust laugh.
111_ Azumi – May 10, 2003
A badass Japenese flick about a samurai girl who fights evil in her land. Move starts off with her in a samurai school and the last test before “graduation is her and her classmates have to fight to the death. Who ever survives gets to graduate. HARDCORE! There is a very creepy gender confused villain in this film which makes for much delight. Also the fight between Azumi and about 1000 people is epic. The camera work is top notch. See Azumi.
110_ Zero Day – January 23, 2004
Oh man this film is crazy. Based on the shootings at Columbine, this film is made to look like a handheld camera documentary of the lives of two friends in high school who plan to kill as many people at their high school as they can. And they DO. It is like Blair Witch/Cloverfield but with the Columbine Shootings subject matter. It is very frightening. Tons of insight as to why the Columbine might have happened. This film rocks and if you can find it, WATCH IT.
109_ Shrek – May 18, 2001
This series has made tons of money and Shrek and Donkey have become cult characters forever. This is on the list because of its wit, humor, and story. Very original. I loved theis film is not only for kids but adults of all ages. Which means it works on all levels. I just wish the third film could have been good.
108_ Ali – December 28, 2001
This film makes the list strictly for it’s acting from Will Smith, John Voight, and Jamie Foxx. I did not particularly like the direction at all, but the acting is unbelievable. Some of the best.
107_ Hellboy – April 2, 2004
Oh Hellboy, one of my favorite characters from comics. Del Toro did a fantastic job with this film as he does with all of his movies. The world he created with Hellboy is pure magic. He can brilliantly mix fear and comedy and make it work. Kudos to you all. Ron Pearlman is excellent as Hellboy. I want more Hellboy films.
106_ The 40 Year Old Virgin – August 19, 2005
The film that brought Judd Apatow and Steve Carrell to fame. Also the film that redefined the comedy genre with the dick jokes and vulgar bathroom humor. Not only are the jokes in here great but it also has a wonderful story. I still quote this film.
105_ Zombieland – October 2, 2009
Zombies and Woody Harrelson amped up to 10 makes for a kick ass fun film. I really enjoyed this film. Fast paced, good character development, plenty of guts and gore, and great funny dialogue and possibly the best cameo of the decade is in this film. All hail B.M. I hear they are making a sequel to this film. Also this film starts out in Garland. Looking forward to more from this director.
104_ Speed Racer – May 9, 2008
The Wachowski siblings bring this cartoon to life in a huge way. This is the most colorful film I have ever seen. I think most people disliked this film but I disagree. I was highly entertained. This film could have been terrible and been a huge failure, but it was a lot of fun and a high energy thrill ride. Very enjoyable.
103_ Zodiac – March 2, 2007
A very creepy accurate film of the Zodiac killings which is still unsolved to this day. Fincher did a great job making this film and all of the characters are spot on. a quality film in the serial killer genre, possibly one of the best. Extremely well written.
102_ Spider-Man – May 3, 2002
Sam Raimi brought this beloved comic character to life and is was spectacular. It was everything I wanted Spider-Man to be. Even Bruce Campbell was in it. I can’t speak for the third film, but this fist movie was amazing. Spot on dialogue delivery and character adaptations and casting was unreal. This will remain one of the best super hero films ever. Go Sam Raimi.
101_ Behind the Mask – September 14, 2007
A true gem of a film that not many people have seen or heard of. This film is filmed like a documentary in a world where Freddy Krueger and Jason Vorhees and Pinhead are real. The immortal killer in this film is Leslie Vernon. He comes across as a likable charming guy with a hint of something not right. This film crew documents him and how he kills his victims and how he is able to vanish quickly from sight and keep track after his next victims. A whole lot of fun and originality. Highly recommended. Loved this film. I hope to see another film with Leslie Vernon.
That’s it for this part of the list. Stay tuned next time for the next section. Any guesses as to which ones will be on the list?
