Hey guys, Jana here,

From the brilliant mind of Stephen King, Mike Flanagan and Jeff Howard took the horror-master’s novel and gave us a screen play for ‘Gerald’s Game‘. While trying to spice up their marriage in their remote lake house, Jessie must fight to survive when her husband dies unexpectedly, leaving her handcuffed to their bed frame.

In the land of Hollywood, we’re looking yet another reboot. It seems like the time frame between original showing and remake keeps getting smaller and smaller. Up on the chopping block this time is ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’. Sony has reached out to ‘Oculus‘ director Mike Flanagan for the reboot.

‘Beyond Re-Animator’ Blu-ray Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 22nd, 2018

The third and final installment (thus far) in the ‘Re-Animator‘ film franchise comes ‘Beyond Re-Animator‘ from 2003 and directed by Brian Yuzna who was a producer on the original ‘Re-Animator‘ movie. This third film is a ton of fun and still packs the insane amount of gore these films are known for. Set about a decade after the first film, it follows our favorite doctor (played by Jeffrey Combs) who is in prison now and still trying to perfect his experiment of bringing the dead back to life as we’ve seen in the previous movies.

Blu-ray Review: ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 2nd, 2018

Jurassic World‘ burst onto the scene as a sequel/reboot hybrid film that made over $1.6 billion at the box office. Of course, there would be more, but at what cost? ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom‘ takes place a year or so after the events of the first film where the island where the theme park and dinosaurs were on are ravaged by an exploding volcano. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard team up again to save the dinosaurs, however they are misled by a maniacal businessman who has other plans for the dinosaurs, mostly being selling them at an auction to warlords across the country in hopes of turning these dinosaurs into military killing machines with freaking lasers attached to their heads for a profit. I’m not making this up.

Hello Everyone, Janet W. here…

Jurassic World:  Fallen Kingdom, the 5th installment of the Jurassic series, blows up the silver screen.  It’s been three years since the largest predators broke from their chains (again).  Isla Nublar is full of life and…death.  An Extinction Level Event befalls the island and its massive inhabitants.  Question:  Does an extinct species entitled to the right to live?  Owen Grady (Chris Pratt), Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard), and yes, Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) return to the screen to answer this question.

4K UHD Review: ‘Hell or High Water’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Feb 19th, 2018

THE FILM

(The film portion was written by Liz Tramer)

Director David Mackenzie’s latest film, Hell or High Water, is a perfect example of how slow and steady wins the race.  The film is a little slow to start, but once it gets going, it’s fantastic. The story centers around two brothers, Toby  Howard (Chris Pine) and Tanner Howard (Ben Foster) who are desperately trying to save their mother’s farm and keep it in the family. The brothers are literally under the gun to find the money and decide the quickest way to make the deadline is to rob banks. Toby is intelligent, calm, cool and collected and the brains behind the operation. Tanner is an ex con hothead who relishes the crime spree and does little to control either his rage or his inclination toward violence.

Hey guys, Jana here,

jurassic-world-movie-trailer-previews

It was no surprise that off the back of the success of ‘Jurassic World‘, that a sequel would be an automatic given. Now that sequel has a director signed on for his chance to bring a little pre-historic terror to the world. J.A. Bayona (‘The Impossible‘) has had his name mentioned more than a few times since he bowed out of the running for ‘World War Z 2′ last year, but it’s now finalized.

Film Review: ‘Jurassic World’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 10th, 2015

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

ydln1orxqd4neeasuboo

It’s been 14 years since we’ve stepped foot inside ‘Jurassic Park’ and got to witness all the wonder and terror of the magnificent creatures called dinosaurs. I think it’s pretty safe to say that the first film has been the best in the franchise so far with parts II and III falling behind in terms of overall enjoyment. However, this new reboot of the franchise comes a close second to the first film, as it seems like a 14 year sequel to part I and forgetting the last two films ever happened, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

Could ‘The Dark Tower’ Go To Film This Time?!?!

by Red Zeppelbon on Apr 10th, 2015

Hey guys, Jana here,

darktower102411

When Stephen King began Roland Deschains’ journey, I would wager he hadn’t comprehended the the size that the finished work would ultimately be, it’s an 8 book series, and it’s King’s magnum opus, and as such the author has crossed over the gunslinger’s world with several of his novels. The dream and hope that we can one day see this adapted to either big screen or mini-series swells and washes out. Is it time to start hoping again, though?
