Dan M., here….

****BEWARE OF SPOILERS****

Game of Thrones isn’t great this season and its ok to admit that. Come to peace with it. Embrace it. It is still the best looking show on television, with some of the most complicated characters ever seen on screen or page. Even this season the show can reach heights that no other show on television has ever touched, ever. But gone are the reflective moments, the social commentary, the irony, and any emotion. Anyone can make a spectacle. Hollywood is never short on spectacle. You can have a movie with superheroes, giant robots, etc. and you won’t find anyone with a pulse who won’t admit that is kind of neat looking. But more often than not these big spectacles bomb or get trashed critically because there isn’t one ounce of honest character development or storytelling. This is where Thrones finds itself.

We even go back to 1993’s ‘Super Mario Bros.‘ There is even some talk of Angelina Jolie’s former boobs. It was hilarious. There were many laughs, a few tears, and a little bit of blood. Needless to say it was a lot of fun. I am joined by comic book artist Jeremy Megert and pop-culture wizard Jonathan Atterbury.

Hey guys, Jana here,

game-of-thrones-season-6-poster

April 24 is so close you can almost taste it. If you’re not aware, that’s the date of the first episode of ‘Game of Thrones‘ season 6. If season 5 left you emotionally wiped out, bereft, crestfallen, anxious, angry or disappointed – you’re not alone. There’s good news and bad news for you. The bad news is that season 5 is going to answer lingering questions and pull you deeper into the story line in a form of story-telling quicksand. The good news umm it’s only 2 weeks away? This is televised cocaine and we’re all addicted and jonesing for another bump.

Hey guys, Jana here,

Simmons

HBO is setting up a ‘Game of Thrones‘ aftershow ala AMC’sTalking Dead‘ which airs right after the current episode of their hit series ‘The Walking Dead‘. One of the reasons Talking Dead is so successful, outside of everyone wanting to know what the hell is coming next and why what just happened, happened is that they have Chris Hardwick anchoring the show. A great deal of the success for ‘After the Thrones‘ is going to rest on the host’s shoulders and HBO has chosen Andy Greenwald and Chris Ryan as their go-to guys.

Hey guys, Jana here,

js-tease-1

HBO is upping their game for the season 6 release of ‘Game of Thrones‘, not that they’ve needed to. With the ending of season 6 came the presumption of Jon Snow’s death and the entire downtime since that final episode has seen conspiracy theories crop up that are more far-fetched than the last. This is what any good series wants between their seasons. It’s no surprise that GOT has picked at that not-so-healing scab that is Snow’s demise with posters, trailers and now – a new red band trailer that lets us see a bit more in all its unedited glory.

If you’re waiting for ‘Game of Thrones‘ season 6, the HBO gods have given you a sneak peek to get you excited and ready to tune in, just don’t expect any clarity on a certain issue. What issue is that you may ask? Just watch it and you’ll see what I’m talking about. Trust me. I’ll wait.

Hey guys, Jana here,

game-of-thrones-season-6-poster_1280.0

You know you’re a part of a fandom when feeling deeply tortured by an episode or event begins to feel normal, you dread it, but you keep coming back for it. There are pros at the art of teasing the pain from a fan, bit at a time, slowly drawing blood when it’s barely noticeable, like Steven Moffatt (‘Doctor Who‘) or lopping a limb off all at once, once again like Moffatt, others that are experts in that particular brand of suffering are J.K. Rowling (‘Harry Potter‘)…and George-freaking-R.R. Martin lord and creator of ‘Game of Thrones‘.

Blu-Ray Review: ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 4!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Feb 11th, 2015

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

81RxNlfsCGL._SL1500_

THE SERIES

I believe that George R.R. Martin was put on this Earth to entertain and piss off the millions and millions of fans of his work, specifically ‘A Song of Ice and Fire‘, or as we have come to know it ‘Game of Thrones‘. If you’ve read the books, you knew what was coming in this fourth season of ‘Game of Thrones‘ on HBO, but for most of you, I’d imagine you were quite shocked, which is of course, nothing new in the world of Westeros. With shows like ‘Game of Thrones‘ and AMC’sThe Walking Dead‘, these creators, writers, and showrunners have perfectly crafted a story full of death, betrayal, and blood.
