4K UHD Review: ‘Jigsaw’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 16th, 2018

THE FILM

Wait, what? He’s back? He’s really back with his infamous contraptions that kill people? Of course he’s back, even after a seven year hiatus, which was the last time we watched the Saw franchise on the big screen. Jigsaw marks the 8th film in the series since 2004 and with an eight film combined budget of $77 million, the box office gross of all eight films is a hair-line under $1 billion. So if you think there will be more Saw films with more Tobin Bell, the answer is a hard “yes”. The Spierig Bros. (Undead, Predestination, Daybreakers) are in the director chairs this time around as they put Jigsaw/John Cramer (Bell) in the center of the story.

‘Jigsaw’ Is Coming to 4K UHD!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 2nd, 2018

Nothing is over when it comes to the ‘Saw‘ franchise and Jigsaw. The new installment in that horror series, simply titled ‘Jigsaw‘ is coming to 4K UHD, Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD on January 23rd. You’ll be able to watch it digitally as early as January 9th. They brothers who made the zombie film ‘Undead‘ and the vampire film ‘Daybreakers‘ sat in the director’s chair this time around with more insane bloody traps and more twists and turns than ever before. There are tons of extras, including audio commentary and behind the scenes featurettes. There is also a Dolby Atmos audio track, which I hope is demo worthy. To hear blood and guts fall from the ceiling could be super awesome. More details below.

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

maxresdefault

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre‘ came out in 1974 and became one of the scariest and most inspired film ever made. It paved the way for so many filmmakers down the road, that we’ve seen elements in almost every horror film since then. Filmmaker Tobe Hooper was cemented into the horror cinema favorites back then. In the 1980s, he made a sequel, which was tonally and visually different, but was still met with great praise and like its predecessor, became an instant cult classic. From then, there have been a string of sequels, remakes, and prequels, all of which have received mostly poor critical acclaim. Nobody seems to be doing anything right with this franchise.

Hey guys, Jana here,

Mel Gibson is behind the camera as director of his first film in 10 years with ‘Hacksaw Ridge‘. He has amassed an amazing cast led by Andrew Garfield, with Teresa Palmer, Sam Worthington, Vince Vaughn and Hugo Weaving. From the looks of the trailer we might be looking at a project that could land Gibson back into Oscar contention, maybe that will convince the studio to allow his name back on their promotional materials.

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

Texas-Chainsaw-2-Blu-ray

THE FILM

The original ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre‘ is one of the best horror films of all time. It still holds that title to this day. One thing most people don’t realize though is that the original film was made in such a way to evoke terror and horror, that it was filmed in such a manner as to show almost not gore, blood, or violence. It was all left off-screen for the most part. In return, this was a low-budget independent horror film that was fast-paced, horrific, and wildly entertaining, if not scary-as-hell. It truly is one of the perfect horror movies. some twelve years later, the original director Tobe Hooper came back and directed a sequel titled ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre II‘.

Lionsgate Is Reviving The ‘Saw’ Franchise!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Feb 9th, 2016

Hey guys, Jana here,

MPW-69406

If you’re a fan of horror movies, there is a 100% chance that you’ve heard of the ‘Saw‘ franchise from James Wan and Leigh Whannell. What began as a low-budget festival surprise soon became an annual tradition to expect a new film in the series every year around Halloween that involved new ways to torture people. The year 2010 came along, which was the release of ‘Saw 3D‘, labeled as The Final Chapter, but of course there was a wide open possibility for the franchise to continue.  Lucky for us, now it is.

‘I Saw The Light’ Looks Phenomenal!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Dec 1st, 2015

Hey guys, Jana here,

i-saw-the-light-1

As far as biographies go, Hank Williams led one hell of a life so there is a ton of material to work with to get to the heart of the country crooner. It’s aptly titled, ‘I Saw The Light‘ because only a man that’s gone through that much darkness could truly appreciate a glimmer of light.

Hey guys, Jana here,

mel-gibson-2

Finally Mel Gibson has come back to DIRECTING!!!! So I’m watching some old school WWF shows while I’m writing this, but my excitement is still the same. I’ve been pushing my own private agenda and have been stumping for Gibson to have his black-ball status lifted since his…let’s just say indiscretions.

Mel Gibson In Talks To Direct ‘Hacksaw Ridge’!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Nov 22nd, 2014

Hey guys, Jana here,

download

Mel Gibson has been absent from the directing scene the last few years after he famously chose not to exercise his Miranda right to “remain silent” when he was pulled over for DUI. Once the incident was made public, he was systematically black-balled from the major film world. Oh, he’s still been in a few films that were by no means a success. Robert Downey, JR showed loyalty by using his voice to beg for the ban to be lifted on Gibson’s career. He was given a part in ‘The Expendables 3‘ and a part in ‘Machete Kills‘ that might have been the beginning of his return to mainstream media.

Grease up your chainsaws, put your masks on, and get some BBQ, because Tobe Hooper’s iconic horror film ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre‘ is 40 this year. In honor of it’s 40th anniversary of scaring an entire planet of people, MPI and Dark Sky Films have restored the original 1973 film and upgraded it to 4K resolution from the original 16mm print.

‘Saw 8’ Is Happening!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Nov 5th, 2013

Jana B., Here…

 saw

“I want to play a game.” With no direction, no story and no names attached, we can only announce that Saw VIII is heading back to big screens everywhere. The Saw franchise focuses on a human’s survival instinct and let’s not forget the torture porn aspect. The legacy of Jigsaw will no doubt be at play here. As to how that will come about is anyone’s guess.

My Lady, let me come with you.
Padmé:
There is no danger. The fighting is over, and... this is personal.

Captain Typho:
As you wish, My Lady... but I strongly disagree.
Padmé:
I'll be all right, Captain. This is something I must do myself. Besides, Threepio will look after me.
