Guy Ritchie Is Looking to Make A King Arthur Movie!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Jan 28th, 2014

Jana B. here,

Guy Ritchie (2)

Tale as old as time…no, not ‘Beauty and the Beast‘. I’m talking about the King Arthur legend. The story inspired such classic movies like ‘Excalibur‘, ‘King Arthur‘, and BBC’s ‘Merlin‘. There are some less classic offerings from ‘Monty Python and the Holy Grail‘ and Disney’s 1963 animated ‘The Sword in The Stone‘. But I digress.

Hi Bryan Here…

It was only a matter of time, that “300” would get a sequel.  That film made so much money for Warner Bros. and spawned so many books and toys, that it really was just common sense to make another film.  And it has been talked about for a while now.  The sequel will be called “Xerxes” and Frank Miller is on board to create this world once again for the silver screen.

THE GENTLEMEN – Film Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 23rd, 2020

“The Gentlemen is a wonderful and hilarious step back into what Ritchie does best.”

The Gentlemen is a return to true form for director Guy Ritchie who two decades ago gave us some of the funniest and most violent gangster movies, including Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Ritchie has a penchant for the London gangster scene and after many years of different genres and a blockbuster Disney film about a blue genie, it was time the British filmmaker came back to his origins with a funny, brutal story and a vast amount of zany characters that are guaranteed to entertain with The Gentlemen, led by an all-star cast that includes Matthew McConaughey, Hugh Grant, Colin Farrell, and Charlie Hunnam.

Aladdin (2019) 4K UHD Blu-ray Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 12th, 2019

Of course, Disney is on top of the world right now. Their multi-billion-dollar box office numbers are astounding. The studio is releasing a ton of movies a year from kids films and Star Wars to Marvel superhero action blockbusters. This also includes live-action remakes of their beloved classic animated movies. Even though these remakes started a long time ago, their first real, big step into this medium was in 2015 with Cinderella (I hated it). From that terrible motion picture, albeit a strong financial success, we have gotten multitudes of these live-action movies with The Jungle Book, Dumbo, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, and of course now Aladdin (a remake of the excellent and most-treasured 1992 animated movie).

Film Review #2 ‘King Arthur: Legend of the Sword’!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 30th, 2017

Dan M., here….

I realize that I am late on this one. I was out of town when it came out and frankly, there were just higher movies on the list I needed to see. Well I got to see King Arthur: Legend of the Sword finally and let me tell you… it is really good. Out of every summer movie this year that I have seen, including Fate of the Furious and Guardians Vol. 2, I left the theater thinking about a sequel to King Arthur the most.

Hello Everyone, Janet W. here…

King Arthur - Trio

Forget every film about the story of King Arthur, because King Arthur: The Legend of the Sword has nearly nothing to do with them. Uther Pendragon (Eric Bana, Yum!) is still Arthur’s father and Igraine (Poppy Delevingne) is his mother, but there is an uncle thrown into the mix, Vortigern (Jude Law). I cannot recall the character in medieval tale (and I took a course on King Arthur in college). Anyway, Law played him pretty well. I will not give it away, but I do not think I have seen Law like this ever. Mordred is a sorcerer instead of the Arthur’s son from Morgaine Le Fay? Yes, this is King Arthur told in a novel method. Film Review: ‘The Man From U.N.C.L.E.’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 11th, 2015

Hi everyone, Bryan Here….

The latest Hollywood remake to hit theaters is the hit tv show from the mid-60’s ‘The Man From U.N.C.L.E.‘, which lasted four seasons and was partially developed by Ian Fleming just as the James Bond franchise was taking off. If you were alive during the mid-60s, you would have known that this ‘U.N.C.L.E.‘ television series was one of the best things on tv at the time, as it centered on an American spy and a Russian spy, working together to take out the bad guys in a very 007 kind of way.

Hi guys, Jana here,

If you’re not familiar with the name Idris Elba (‘Pacific Rim‘, ‘Thor‘) by now, you’ve probably just thawed out from the large block of ice you’ve been encased in for the last thousand years. If that’s the case, grab a hair dryer and keep reading.

Hello, Jana here,

By now, everyone has learned that Fox is doing a reboot of ‘Fantastic Four‘. I will never, ever understand the studio decision to re-make a movie that is not very old. ‘Fantastic Four‘ came out in 2005 so it’s not even 10 years old, yet. Stars from the film and the director are still very relevant to what is current. They’re all still working in big budget situations and are drawing crowds.
