The Bishop Charlotte reporting…

Nobody’s actually surprised, of course, but it’s newsworthy nonetheless. Guy Ritchie and Warner Bros. are already discussing the third Sherlock Holmes movie starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. Drew Pearce will write as soon as he’s finished with Iron Man 3.

Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows is out December 16th, by the way, and I’m super psyched. We’ll get more of Moriarty, played by Jared Harris (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button).  We also get another female lead to engage Rachel McAdams, which will be refreshing. Hopefully Noomi Rapace will be as cool of a character as McAdams has been sporting.

It’s interesting that Warner Bros. is already developing Sherlock Holmes 3, but since the franchise has done so well, it makes sense. Game of Shadows will probably do just as well as the first one, so a third one was inevitable anyway. Might as well start early, yeah?
