Hi, Bryan Here….

The good folks over at Google have added a mighty fun search option.  That’s right, you can now play and check your Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon questions.  All you have to do is type in the google search engine “bacon number” then which ever actor you want to look up that is somehow related to Kevin Bacon.  I, of course typed in Bruce Campbell to start, and low and behold the separation was only 2.  Bruce Campbell and Embeth Davidtz were in ‘Army of Darkness’.  Embeth Davidtz and Kevin Bacon were in ‘Murder in the First’. Check Mate!

Film Review: ‘Skin’!!

by Janet White on Aug 4th, 2019

Hello Everyone, Janet W. here…

Based on the real-life story of Bryon Widener, Skin details the epic transformation from a life of hate to a purpose of love. Raised in the rural recesses of America, Widener (Jamie Bell) was molded to be a white supremacist “soldier.” Merciless in his mindless pursuit of an all-white United States of America, Widener’s world is rocked to its core. What could remove blinders from such a person? Love, of course, enter Julie Price (Danielle Macdonald) and her three adorable angels, Desiree (Zoe Margaret Colletti), Sierra (Kylie Rogers), and Iggy (Colbi Gannett). However, the Vinlanders SC will not just stand by and see its lieutenant snatched away. Read the rest of this entry »

The world is fascinated with celebrity gossip both in film and sports. You can’t turn a page or watch a show without someone talking about these famous people’s personal lives. Within this culture, there is bound to be criminal activity and as we’ve seen with the entertainment industry and sports, there are quite a few nasty stories of prominent figures abusing and murdering people. I can point to O.J. Simpson as the classic tale of this situation, but we all know how that ended up. No, it’s with former NFL player Aaron Hernandez that takes the cake as it seems like no other prominent figure in sports had this much trouble and fell from a lucrative career as much as he did. Thanks to Netflix, we now have the fantastic three-episode true-crime documentary series Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron of Hernandez to give us more insight into what happened.

FORD V FERRARI – Film Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Nov 11th, 2019

“Ford v Ferrari is easily the best racing movie I have seen since RUSH.”

James Mangold has emerged from his superhero hiatus, directing Wolverine and Logan, to return to the real world and give us one of the best “Based on a True Story” movies that have come out in years with Ford v Ferrari. The obvious issues and cliches most would find with this kind of true story are completely forgotten thanks to a really good script, incredible looking action, and two of the best performances of the year from Christian Bale and Matt Damon. In many hands, this movie would fall apart 20 minutes in but Mangold is so damn good that he actually elevates the subject matter and genre here.

[Captain Typho is trying to talk Padme out of leaving Coruscant without protection]
Captain Typho:
My Lady, let me come with you.
Padmé:
There is no danger. The fighting is over, and... this is personal.
[Typho bows]
Captain Typho:
As you wish, My Lady... but I strongly disagree.
Padmé:
I'll be all right, Captain. This is something I must do myself. Besides, Threepio will look after me.
C-3PO:
Oh, dear.
