Key and Peele‘, the Comedy Central sketch project sees Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele in front of a live studio audience bantering about a topic weaved between filmed shorts and sketches. This has been a recipe for success for 3 seasons, already and the network sees that, so it comes as no surprised a fourth season has already been green-lighted. Fans of the show can look forward to 20 original episodes and two best-of episodes that will make up the fourth season.

US – 4K UHD Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jul 23rd, 2019

The horror genre is something sacred and entertaining. It can be whatever you’d like it to be from something of a masked killer on the loose slashing their way through unsuspecting teenage victims to a literal hell unleashing in space to something much more quiet and unnerving like family being torn apart by a demonic entity and everything in between. Jordan Peele has crafted his own horror universe and elements and is 2/2 (so far) in drilling the nail into that horror membrane with precision and accuracy. His latest film simply titled ‘US‘ is much more than a straight out horror film, but something that makes us think about our past, present and ultimate future with each other. I’m happy to say that ‘US‘ is a true masterpiece in horror.

Film Review: ‘A Quiet Place’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Apr 4th, 2018

Comedians have routinely had a tough time shaking their labels as depthless clowns, but lately some are rejecting that type-cast in cinema and using their own material to change the minds of the public. Breaking away from his best known work as Jim in ‘The Office’, John Krasinski followed Jordan Peele’sGet Out‘ lead by taking the director’s role for the opposite end of the spectrum: Horror. His cleverly silent debut thriller ‘A Quiet Place’ has inexorable intensity, satisfying character development and bona fide heartbreak. Not since ‘Signs’ has there been such a fascinatingly atmospheric creature feature!

Dan’s 2018 Oscar Picks!

by Gumbercules9000 on Mar 3rd, 2018

Here are my Oscar Predictions. I haven’t seen many of the shorts or documentaries so I didn’t even bother with those, but I have seen everything else that is nominated for the big categories except Call me by Your Name. Also, I fell asleep during The Post, but so did everyone.

As a hard and fast rule, I refuse to recognize any recent best picture winners until a movie comes along that was better on every single filmmaking level than Mad Max: Fury Road. This year is no different, so congrats to Fury Road.

‘Get Out’ is Coming back to theaters for FREE!

by Gumbercules9000 on Feb 16th, 2018

On February 19th, a total of 55 AMC Theaters across the nation will show the Oscar nominated and award winning film ‘GET OUT’ for FREE! You can see the list of theaters down below by clicking the link. ‘GET OUT’ is one of the best films of 2017 and I’m so happy they are showing it for free next week. Who would have predicted that one half of the ‘Key and Peele’ show would direct a movie that would be talked about and remembered for many years to come. It’s half horror and half comedy with an excellent satire behind it all.

Jana’s Best of 2017!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Jan 1st, 2018

Hey guys, Jana here,

I know these “Best of 2017” lists should technically be published in 2017, but why would I start 2018 any differently than I lived the majority of my adult life: Procrastinating and underachieving. What can I say? That’s my wheelhouse.

For a year that put a spotlight on some of the shittiest behavior by some of the Hollywood elite, it was actually a good year for TV and movies. I didn’t limit myself in number because as I moved on with the brackets, I felt like I was making ‘Sophie’s Choice‘ on some of these, so they’re all getting in! I’m feeling my inner-Oprah here, You’ve made the list! You made the list! EVERYBODY made the list!! In order to spare myself any arguments, I’m stating up front that my picks for the “Best of 2017” are not edited in regards to scandal or hideous human behavior.

Favorite Movies of 2017!

by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 27th, 2017

Was 2017 a great year for movies? Of course it was. There were some excellent films to be released in 2017. There were also some bad ones for sure, but the focus on this article are some of the Best films that stuck with me long after viewing. Most people will give you their Top 10 list, but this is no Top 10, because there are just so many movies that I loved and feel passionate about, that I find it difficult and unpleasing to rank them.

Instead, these are my favorite movies of 2017, which I hope you’ve seen already. If you haven’t yet, you’re in for a real treat and I can’t wait for you to see them. Some of these films are still in theaters, while some are on Netflix, 4K UHD, and Blu-ray, so you’ll be able to quickly see any of these if you haven’t. I watched over 270 movies that were released in 2017 and these are my absolute favorites. I hope you get to see all of these, because I know you’ll love them. In no particular order…..
