Our Feature Presentation this episode is a wonderful talk with the phenomenal, award-winning composer and musician MICHAEL ABELS!

Abels, once a school music director, is now a fantastic award-winning composer on such films as Jordan Peele’s Get Out and Us, along with the recent HBO film Bad Education. The three of us discuss his origins in music, the first song he learned on the piano, and his process in scoring some of the finest films of the century.

We also dive into working with Jordan Peele, as well as a surprise phone call from Steven Spielberg. Some fun was had with Abel’s most curious recording (The Shaggs), along with some musical inspirations, and easter eggs he uses in his songs. It was an entertaining discussion and a lot of fun.
