Pierce Brosnan Set To Star in new AMC Series!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 6th, 2016

Hi everyone, Bryan Here….

wold-is-not-enough

The former ‘Golden Eye‘ or shall I say Pierce Brosnan is coming back to television to star in AMC’s new series called ‘The Son‘. This will basically be the first time since ‘Remington Steele‘ that Brosnan will be on the small screen, rather than the big screen. This looks to be one of AMC ‘s new flagship shows, as ‘The Son‘ is a multi-generational story of America’s birth as a nation that follows a Texas family’s rise and fall through blood, sweat, and tears, but mostly blood.

He’s been James Bond, a master criminal, Robinson Crusoe, he sung for us in ‘Mamma Mia‘ and a wise centaur in ‘Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief‘. He can now add to that list designer drug creator. Brosnan inked a deal with Aaron Kaufman in his directorial debut, ‘Urge‘.

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

So it’s been 17 years, and MGM wants to remake yet again, ‘The Thomas Crown Affair‘. This will be the third time for a remake. Do they have any original ideas? I think not. It’s not all bad news though. Michael B. Jordan (Creed, The Wire, Fruitvale Station) is signed on to star in the remake.

Film Review: ‘No Escape’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 26th, 2015

Janet W., Here…

Screen Shot 2015-08-26 at 11.54.58 AM

No Escape opens in black with opening credits and the sound of insects chirping.  Suddenly we focus on two glasses of clear beverage.  The camera follows the waiter carrying the glasses through the hotel/mansion until they arrive at the security/food taster.  Upon receiving his approval the waiter continues to the Prime Minister of Thailand and his visitor.  You wonder if something is in the glasses and if the Prime Minister will meet his end.  They both drink and finish their meeting.  As the visitor is escorted out by security, suddenly alarms sound.  The security officer takes off for the Prime Minister.  He is found bloody and dead.  Rebels walk up to the security officer and he draws his blade.  To defend himself?  No, he slices his own throat.  Oh, right, this is a Weinstein film.  Cut to titles that transition into clouds and an airplane window.

Hey guys, Jana here,

CISA3NHUEAA8DAP

Nomads‘ was director John McTiernan’s freshman directorial effort. He would take what he learned from this film and employ it in a handful of films from the years surrounding the 1990’s that make up a few quintessential examples of film from that decade, not to mention one of the must-watch movies of the Christmas season. ‘Predator‘, ‘Die Hard‘, ‘The Hunt For Red October’, ‘Last Action Hero‘, ‘Die Hard With A Vengeance‘ and ‘The 13th Warrior‘ are among his noted resume. You caught the Christmas movie in there didn’t you? 1988’s ‘Die Hard‘ happily finds itself in the playlist on my home DVD player between ‘National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation‘ and ‘A Christmas Story‘.

Film Review: ‘The November Man’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 29th, 2014

Janet W., Here…

november_man cb

Pierce Brosnan…a previous incarnation of James Bond has added producing to his repertoire.  Brosnan’s latest production is the spy thriller, The November Man, a genre with which Brosnan is a little familiar.  Peter Devereaux (Brosnan) is a super spy who trained the newbies before his retirement from the CIA.  Being the Yoda of espionage, Brosnan’s all-knowing charm shines and somewhat terrifies.

by Red Zeppelbon on Jul 8th, 2014

Hi all, Jana here,

Little-by-little some details and pictures have been leaking from the highly anticipated ‘Star Wars‘ production. There is a two-week break worked in for august and two new cast members. That’s the big news today, the actors were found in an open casting call from across 11 U.S. and U.K. cities that resulted in well over 70,000 applicants. The Lucasfilm/Disney production of ‘Star Wars Episode VII‘ will break in August for a two-week hiatus and was called as a result of schedule adjustments after Han Solo, I mean Harrison Ford broke his ankle last month. We’ve heard that Ford, who is undergoing physical therapy for the next few weeks, has been recovering well and is expecting to return to the set soon.

The ‘Mrs. Doubtfire’ Sequel Is Back On The Table!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Apr 17th, 2014

Hi, Bryan Here….

mrs-doubtfire-1993--11

Back in 1993, director Chris Columbus and actor Robin Williams struck gold by dressing in drag with ‘Mrs. Doubtfire‘, which since them has become an iconic comedy movie. The film back then was made for only $25 million, but it grossed almost $450 million. Shortly after the huge success of the movie, a sequel was put into development. That sequel never gained steam, even after twenty years. But now that has all changed.

Geek Deal of the Day Part 1

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 30th, 2010

Today’s Geek Deal is a set of documentaries from the IMAX collection. It is the Ocean’s Collection that IMAX filmed for theaters.  You will get four films in the set.

I believe Liam Neesan, Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, and Ed Harris lend their voices for narrating.

The set usually cost about $100 dollars and for today it is only  $34.99.  Pretty great deal.

As usual click the link/picture below to purchase the set.
