Get Ready for the ‘Antibirth’ from Scream Factory!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 18th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

Antibirth-Blu-ray

Scream Factory us releasing the horror film ‘Antibirth‘ on February 7th, 2017 that stars Natasha Lyonne and Chloë Sevigny. This is a comedy-horror film that looks to mess with your mind and make you laugh, along with some gross out thrills. Mark Webber (Scott Pilgrim vs the World) and Meg Tilly (Psycho II) also star in the film. Surprisingly, this film has received a ton of high praise from all over the world and it even premiered at Sundance last year to rave reviews. I for one can’t wait to see this.

Liz’s DIFF 2014 Film Review ‘Little Accidents’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Apr 8th, 2014

Liz T., Here…

little-accidents

Writer/Director Sara Colangelo’s film Little Accidents delivers an emotionally searing story delivered by a talented cast whose performances will leave you in your seat after the film ends. DIFF enabled viewers to watch the film about a tragic coal-mining accident and the effects its aftermath has on members of a small community. Colangelo does not shy away from the themes of class conflict, tense family dynamics or the need to protect the ones you love, regardless of the cost.

DIFF 2014 Film Review: ‘Little Accidents’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Apr 5th, 2014

Hi, Bryan Here….

14063-4

Little Accidents‘ seems anything but little, with the exception of the tiny town this all takes place in. Director Sara Colangelo takes control of a stellar cast in this unsmiling drama about two major events in a small coal mining town. Colangelo does a great job in not jumping on cliches, and letting her characters be true to themselves, but often throughout the film, there are several circumstances and characters that don’t get to earn their keep. Colangelo did say she had a three hour film with this, but was cut down to under two hours. I think the three hour cut would have been perfect, but I expect good word of mouth of avid film fans to recommend this one, despite some of its clunky execution.

Misty Here….

The hit IFC series ‘Portlandia’ is hard at work on season 3, which stars Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein and from the looks of it, there is a treasure trove of big cameos.  The new third season will start January 4th, however, in the spirit of the hilarious series, there will be a pre-premiere on December 14th for a winter themed episode.

Hi, Bryan Here….

It’s been way too long since we have seen a new episode of FX’s ‘American Horror Story’.  I really enjoyed that show and I’m looking forward to a second season.  I love how they are doing it.  From what I’ve heard and reported, the 2nd season will be about a new family and new house.  I like that they are changing it up.  Well, we have some late casting news for the second season of thriller series.  Joseph Fiennes (‘Shakespeare in Love’, ‘Enemy at the Gates’, ‘Flash Foward’, and ‘Camelot’) is in final talks to join the series.
