HBO grabbed the collective viewers attention with ‘True Detective‘ in 2014. A series that won 5 Emmy Awards and was nominated for so many more accolades that it should have won. Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson and Michelle Monaghan star in the freshman season of the anthology police detective show. The detectives reminesce on a case from 1995 that has been closed as solved. Questions surface that force those involved to dredge up memories from the past, in looking closer at the variables, corruption is evident on both sides of the thin blue line.

Hi Bryan Here….

‘Machine Gun Preacher’ is one intense film.  It’s not for the faint of heart or for someone looking for a feel good movie.  This film is not only to entertain, but is to educate people on what is going on in Africa and from what the real ‘Machine Gun Preacher’, Sam Childers constantly says, this film is to show people that God exists.  The film itself is  really good.  I know FedMex disagrees with me, but I did genuinely enjoy the film.  I thought Gerard Butler and Michelle Monaghan played the Childers family magnificently.  Monaghan especially.  I think she deserves an award for her role in this film.  I think this film should be seen by all.  Not only because of the good acting and great filmmaking, but to educate people on the real problem going on in the Sudan.  ‘Machine Gun Preacher’ is an exceptional film.

The Venice Film Festival headed by Quentin Tarantino awarded Sofia Coppola’s movie “Somewhere” the Golden Lion which is the top award given at this film festival.  Now I have enjoyed Sofia’s past films including Lost in  Translation, The Virgin Suicides, and for what it was Marie Antoinette.

“Somewhere stars Michelle Monaghan, Stephen Dorff, and Benicio Del Toro.  Tarantino said “This was a film that enchanted us from our first screening…Yet from that first enchanting screening, it grew and grew and grew in both our hearts, in our analysis, in our minds, and in our affections.” The jury’s decision was unanimous.

“Somewhere” is about a hard living, hard working actor in LA who has to re-evaluate his life when his 11 year old daughter comes for a surprise visit.

If this movie is anything like Sofia’s previous work then I no doubt will love this film and it will be loved by all.

And of course I look forward to the killer soundtrack this movie will be providing.

The trailer is below.  Enjoy.
