Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

We reported earlier last week that Gerard Butler (‘300‘) suddenly dropped out of the remake of ‘Point Break‘, where he was set to play Bodhi, who was played by Patrick Swayze in the original film. Now it seems they had a second option who is the amazing Edgar Ramirez. Ericson Core will be directing from a script from Kurt Wimmer.

Ramirez is a phenomenal actor and can be seen in ‘Domino‘, ‘Zero Dark Thirty‘, ‘Wrath of the Titans‘, and most importantly ‘Carlos‘, which I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you purchase below. Ramirez just recently wrapped shooting a movie called ‘Hands of Stone’, which was the Roberto Duran biopic with Ramirez as the lead and had Robert DeNiro as the co-lead.

“We consider Edgar one of the finest actors in the world today, and we are thrilled he will be creating a fresh new take on the iconic character of Bodhi,” Alcon principals Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson said. Again, this reboot is set in present day of international heists and extreme sports and will have an undercover FBI agent infiltrating a criminal organization.

Shooting will begin this summer. I just hope Keanu Reeves makes some sort of appearance and some screams and fires their gun in the air. Your thoughts?
