Hey guys, Jana here,

the-peaky-blinders

I love British royalty, British comedy and British crime dramas, as far as the last category goes, there’s been a trailer released for one of the most exciting series on Netflix and it’s getting ready to air it’s 3rd season – ‘Peaky Blinders‘. If you’re unaware of this show, it’s OK, we’ve all been in the dark before, but step into the light and binge watch the first 2 seasons so you understand why this is so frakkin’ exciting, I’ll wait. So I won’t wait because that’s a voyage to awesome and I want everyone else to see this trailer, so catch up with this after! May 31st is the big day for fans in the US, all six episodes of the tertiary season will be available.

TV Review: ‘Peaky Blinders’!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Oct 7th, 2014

Hey guys, Jana here,

peaky-blinders-fin_2705945b

I’m an addict. When I see a new TV series that I fall in love with, I marathon every episode until I reach the end, or a cliffhanger. Both of those conditions were incredibly true for my newest addiction – ‘Peaky Blinders‘. ‘Peaky Blinders‘ falls into one of my favorite topics when it comes to what I’m watching and it’s all about mafia. The show was produced by BBC and aired the first season beginning in September of last year. Then Netflix entered the equation by acquiring exclusive US distribution rights from the Weinstein Company and Endemol. It became available for streaming on September 30, 2014. Look it up, add it to your list and enjoy. It’s absolutely brilliant!

Hey guys, Jana here,

Netflix’sBlack Mirror‘ debuted way back in 2011. A more innocent time because we didn’t have deep, lurking fears about technology and how it could do anything but improve our daily life. Then came Charlie Brooker and the anthology series that has forced me, at least, to cover all the cameras on my devices with tape or sticky tack. Coming back for it’s fourth season, we’ve got a little, and I do mean little, information on the next six episodes.

Blu-ray Review: Free Fire!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jul 17th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

THE FILM

Film Portion Reviewed by Janet White:

In typical 70s film fashion, Free Fire opens with an aerial scan of the city below.  Curvaceous, bold letters displayed nearly every cast member and some of the crew.  This got very old, long, and kept the pace slow.  Two men waiting in an alley… (Sounds like a bad joke, it was).  Stevo (Sam Riley) and Bernie (Enzo Cilenti) meet up with Justine (Brie Larson), Chris (Cillian Murphy), and Frances (Michael Smiley) for a shady gun buy with Ord (Armie Hammer), Vernon (Sharlto Copley), Martin (Babou Ceesay), Gordon (Noah Taylor), and Harry (Jack Reynor, how did they turn this hottie into a slob?).  Great cast, right?  Well, great casts alone do not a great film make.  The dialogue and plot points must harness and ride with that talent.

Film Review: ‘[Free Fire]’!!

by Janet White on Apr 21st, 2017

Hello Everyone, Janet W. here…

Free Fire - Gun Gang

Inundated with morons and piss-poor shooting for a calamitous combination, Free Fire leaves the audience either shaking their heads or bowing over laughing.  Between the mumbling of lines and poor volume control, I missed bits of the dialogue for sure.  It is as if they were aiming to repeat what Tarantino did with Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs, but they were not clever enough.  Complete with wondrous never-ending bullet supplies and a villain’s miraculous ability to stave off death repeatedly aka “movie magic,” Free Fire simply does not make much sense.  Could a person, shot in their right arm, fire a weapon (even automatic rifles) with their right hand? Jana’s Best/Worst of 2014!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Dec 15th, 2014

Hey guys, Jana here,

PicMonkey Collage

It’s been a big year for the entertainment world. Netflix’s initial push to bring movie-theater worthy films straight to streaming customers and bypassing the big screen altogether set off a chain of deals that will take those fresh releases and push them directly into homes allowing us to bypass a $15.00 soda, but denying us the $20.00 popcorn you can only get at the theater. Then came the deluge of series and movies being made for exclusive run with everyone from Netflix, Amazon to Crackle and everything in between. Top that off with the huge breach of privacy Sony experienced. New releases were flooded onto P2P sharing sites and private emails from the film company’s big wigs that show us how the infrastructure of Sony really works, not to mention what those involved really think of some of their superstars.

Tom Hardy Brings New Period-Drama Series To FX!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Nov 19th, 2014

Hey guys, Jana here,

peaky-blinders

Any project that combines Tom Hardy, Steven Knight and Ridley Scott is going to be wildly successful and any network should count themselves lucky to have this series in their entertainment stable. FX is the lucky recipient of the newest period drama series from the trio. ‘Taboo‘ will be set in 1813, a 100 year difference from the setting for ‘Peaky Blinders‘. The pair of series have more in common than being allegiant to their setting, BBC will produce both, Tom Hardy is cast in both and Steven Knight created the pair.
