‘Beyond Re-Animator’ Blu-ray Review!
The third and final installment (thus far) in the ‘Re-Animator‘ film franchise comes ‘Beyond Re-Animator‘ from 2003 and directed by Brian Yuzna who was a producer on the original ‘Re-Animator‘ movie. This third film is a ton of fun and still packs the insane amount of gore these films are known for. Set about a decade after the first film, it follows our favorite doctor (played by Jeffrey Combs) who is in prison now and still trying to perfect his experiment of bringing the dead back to life as we’ve seen in the previous movies.

‘Dagon’ Blu-ray Review!
There isn’t a horror film like this out there – past, present, or future. This film ‘Dagon‘ is so off-the-wall that it has to be seen to be believed. Directed by Stuart Gordon (‘Re-Animator’) in 2001, ‘Dagon‘ follows two couples who are vacationing off the coast of Europe. At one point during this vacation, one of them sees a mermaid or so he thinks. Soon enough there is a big storm and crashes their boat. One of the couples heads off to get help at a local village to save their friends. Sounds easy and pleasant enough, right? WRONG! Turns out this village is inhabited by some evil fish people all led by a mutant fish monster who must have blood sacrifices.

‘Class of 1999’ is getting the Collector’s Edition Blu-ray treatment!
I’m so psyched for ‘Class of 1999‘ on Blu-ray from Vestron Video. This sci-fi thriller was part of my video collection when I was younger and I watched it all the time. Basically, this is about a high-school that puts in robotic teachers to keep the peace in school, but it turns into a real ‘Westworld‘ type of situation when the robot teachers start killing students. It’s then up to the kids to fight back. It stars Pam Grier, Stacy Keach, and Malcolm McDowell, which it doesn’t get cooler than that. There are new commentaries and interviews for bonus features. The Blu-ray will be released on January 30th, 2018 in a limited edition and I can’t be more excited about this if I tried to be.
Blu-ray Review: ‘The Gate’!
Hi everyone, Bryan here…
THE FILM
The 1980s were very good to us horror buffs in the form of films. We were introduced to Freddy Krueger, Pinhead, Re-Animator, John Carpenter’s ‘The Thing‘, ‘The Shining‘, ‘Child’s Play‘, ‘The Lost Boys‘ and the wonderful world of ‘Evil Dead‘ to name just a few. I guess you could say that the 80’s gave us some of the very BEST horror films ever made. One of the 80’s horror films that is just as good and as fun as the above mentioned movies, but rarely gets a mention is the 1986 film ‘The Gate‘, directed by Tibor Takacs.

Blu-ray Review: ‘Class of 1999’!
THE FILM
Filmmaker Mark L. Lester has sure made a name for himself in cinema world, mostly being movies from the 1980s. He gave us some of the most homoerotic action films from that time, including ‘Commando‘ and ‘Showdown in Little Tokyo‘ to name a few. ‘Class of 1999‘ is no different either and is a sibling sequel to his film a few years beforehand in ‘Class of 1984‘. With ‘1984‘, you had a new teacher come to a violent high-school where most of the kids are in gangs and try to make a difference. Things get out of hand for sure.

***UPDATE*** ‘Dirty Dancing’ To Be Remade with Kenny Ortega Directing!!!
Hi Bryan Here….
Director/ Produce Kenny Ortega has just signed on to direct the remake of the 1980’s cult classic ‘Dirty Dancing’. This is an interesting choice in that Kenny Ortega choreographed and came up with the grinding “dirty dancing” that made the original sleeper hit one of the most profitable independent films ever made. He also went on to direct the short lived ‘Dirty Dancing’ television series in the 80’s. Now things have come around and he will be the director of the remade version.
