Always Be My Maybe – Film Review

“Always Be My Maybe is simply enjoyable and engaging throughout.”

Next on the romantic-comedy chopping block comes Always Be My Maybe, which is exclusively on Netflix and has all of the desired genre tropes added in to give you laughs and heartwarming feelings. That being said, you’ve seen this story literally 500 billion times before. There is nothing new or original here in these characters or plot points. It’s romantic-comedy business as usual with Always Be My Maybe, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. While it doesn’t do anything to change the game or provoke thought, it’s simply enjoyable and engaging throughout, and that should be enough for a couple of hours.

Film Review: Snatched!

So, Snatched won’t be winning any Oscars, but if you go in with incredibly low expectations, you can’t be that let down. It has some pretty funny parts, it has some first class actors (Amy Schumer is not one of them), and at the end of the day it’s a film about how much you need your mom and we can generally all get on board with that.

We are closing in on Texas Frightmare Weekend for 2017 with just a little under two weeks to go. May 5 will be upon us before we know it and all the glorious events will be open and ready for us, the avid fan, rabid amateur filmmaker, the nuclear family. Get ready to bring the new generation of Griswolds home on Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD when Warner Bros. releases ‘Vacation‘ on November 13, or you can own it early on October 13 if you go the Digital HD route. If that still doesn’t fill your Griswold need, a remastered ‘National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation‘ will be out December 1.

The 9th annual Dallas International Film Festival is almost here, folks, and we have just received the entire list of all the films that will be playing at the festival. The fest will take place April 9-19, and you can start purchasing passes now with the links provided below. It looks like there will be some excellent filmmakers and actors in town for the festival as well as a treasure trove of awesome movies, which you can see listed out below with a little bit of information on each film. As usual, we will be at the festival, telling you about all the cool movies we’re seeing and posting some interviews with the talent. Stay tuned as  I’m sure more announcements will be made.

The Dallas International Film Festival for 2014 has just announced its full lineup of movies. Last week, we brought you the first ten films that were announced, and if that was any clue on how cool the movies will be this year, it only gets better. It looks like there are some amazing selections this year, films that I’ve been hearing about for quite some time, and am glad to have them in Dallas. FX has picked up a tv show called Wilfred, which will star Elijah Wood and is about a guy and his relationship with his beautiful neighbor’s dog.


Elijah has not done much since Lord of the Rings or Sin City with the exception of a couple of small movies.  He has mostly been doing animated shows and movies.
