Hey guys, Jana here,

Terry Pratchett was an amazing fantasy writer and his ‘Discworld‘ series consists of 41 novels that readers the world over have lauded and praised. One of his novels, ‘The Wee Free Men‘, is labeled as a “story of Discworld” to indicate it’s target audience is younger than the typical reader. There have been many attempts to adapt ‘The Wee Free Men‘ to film, but none have succeeded. Now, The Jim Henson Company is lining up to take their shot at it.

Hey guys, Jana here,

david-bowie-labyrinth-bulge

If you’re like me, when you hear the name Henson, visions of Big Bird, Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy jump around on your reminiscent cortex. News from the Jim Henson Co. always fosters this response in me, well that and the ‘Fraggle Rock‘ theme song running on a constant loop. Combine Billy Crystal with that news and the Fraggles are singing “Put That Thing Back Where It Came From Or So Help Me”. Of course, that’s a reference to Crystal’s run in the hugely successful animated features from DisneyMonsters, Inc.‘ and ‘Monsters University‘.

Hi, Bryan Here…

God news, everyone.  Guillermo Del Toro will co-direct ‘Pinocchio’ with Mark Gustafson.  The project will be a 3D stop-motion animated production of the Jim Henson Company.  Gustafson was the animation director on Wes Anderson’s ‘Fantastic Mr. Fox’, so I expect this version of ‘Pinocchio’ to be similar.

If you’re a fan of ‘The Dark Crystal‘, and let’s be honest here, who isn’t a fan? You’ve been waiting for a long time to bathe in the glory of a sequel that will take us all back tot he world of Thra, your time is finally here. Alas, it’s not a film you’ll be queuing up to see, but a comic book series that’s based on the unproduced screenplay that was to be the follow up to the 1982 fantasy.

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

The awards show is January 10 on NBC hosted by Ricky Gervais. First off, let’s look at something AWESOME here. ‘MAD MAX: FURY ROAD‘ is nominated for BEST PICTURE. It needs to win. It should win. And if does win, we all go streaking. That being said…I can’t believe that ‘Me and Earl and the Dying Girl‘ was not nominated for anything. Come on. It’s one of the BEST films of the year. It’s also interesting to see no love for the final season of ‘Mad Men’ her either. Oh well.

Here is the list of nominees:

Hi Bryan Here….

Some very good releases this week.  I always scream like a schoolgirl when a Kubrick film is released on blu-ray criterion which…well…only happened one other time, but I hope much much more from Kubrick is released on Criterion.   Some of the must own blu-rays include ‘Kubrick’s ‘The Killing’ Criterion Collection’, ‘Big Lebowski’,  ‘Demolition Man’, plus some other goodies.   As usual, in this article, you will get some info about the disc and the extras that come with the movie as well as a personal opinion about the movie and a link to purchase the film over at AMAZON where you can save quite a bit of money, and it will give a small percentage kick back to this site so we can continue bringing you excellent stories and sales.

Enjoy and Here We Go!!
