‘First Man’ Film Review #2!

Anytime I see a movie about space the technology seems effortless. Even in space disaster movies, the main character is one button or airlock away from safety. The technology and engineering are always #15 on the list of most movies set in space. Even movies like Apollo 13 romanticize space travel to a large degree and gloss over the real work it takes to even get up there. First Man takes a different approach to launch humans into space by making every single aspect of the space program of the 60s be, frankly, terrifying.

The 9th annual Dallas International Film Festival is almost here, folks, and we have just received the entire list of all the films that will be playing at the festival. The fest will take place April 9-19, and you can start purchasing passes now with the links provided below. It looks like there will be some excellent filmmakers and actors in town for the festival as well as a treasure trove of awesome movies, which you can see listed out below with a little bit of information on each film. I can’t believe April is almost here again. It just seemed like two weeks ago we were knee deep in 2014’s Dallas Film Festival, which had some excellent films showcased. But that time of the year is just about to begin and the good folks over at the Dallas Film Festival have announced the first 10 films that will show at the festival. Also, it looks like the fest will be honoring the excellent filmmaker John Landis as well, which is all sorts of cool.
