HI everyone, Bryan Here…

Roots pic

We knew there was going to be a remake of ‘Roots‘ already, and that the History Channel was going to air it. If you’re unfamiliar, ‘Roots‘ was a 1977 miniseries that broke all kinds of records. It’s one of the better miniseries to ever be aired on television. Now since the History Channel has had some big success with ‘Hatfields & McCoys‘ and ‘Texas Rising‘, it seems like the ‘Roots‘ remake is on the fast track to start filming.

Will Forte Joins ‘The Simpsons’!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Jun 23rd, 2014
Hello, Jana here,

180674032JF00024_Life_Of_Cr

Will Forte is a renaissance man. We’ve all seen him as a bit player in dozens of different movies. He’s the nose-bleed guy from ‘How I Met Your Mother‘, ‘Saturday Night Live‘, and in a heart-touching role in the Oscar nominated ‘Nebraska‘. Bruce Dern is amazing, but I really think that Forte should have been nominated for an Academy Award, as well.

Martin Luther King Mini-Series Coming to HBO!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Mar 6th, 2014

Hello, Jana here,

Martin Luther King, Jr.

When you hear ‘Civil Rights Movement’ most people associate that with Martin Luther King Jr., the figurehead that fueled the volt-face in the 1960’s. The American pastor and African-American Civil Rights leader is at the center of several different projects at the moment. It seems that putting King’s struggle into a workable form has been eluding filmmakers for years.

Oprah Winfrey Supports MLK Biopic!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Feb 28th, 2014

Jana B. here,

Martin Luther King

Think of all the biopics we’ve seen to date. Look at who they are about. Joan Crawford, Kennedy, Lincoln, Al Capone, Tina Turner, Ty Cobb, Lane Frost…the list is vast. There are a few personalities that get bio treatments from several people and others that have yet to be immortalized in film. We’re looking at a big screen, no-holds-barred Martin Luther King Jr. feature. Paramount is in final negotiations to acquire domestic distribution rights to ‘Selma‘, a feature drama about Martin Luther King’s 1965 landmark voting rights campaign regarded as the peak of the civil rights movement.

Bryan Reviews Oliver Stone’s ‘Savages’!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jul 6th, 2012

Hi, Bryan Here….

After a few years of getting a softer side of Oliver Stone, Savages brings the director back to his ultra violent, drug induced, sex crazed, and savage side.  Based on Don Winslow’s novel, Savages tells an intense tale of drugs, sex, and betrayal.  I really missed this side of Oliver Stone.  I’ve been hoping for a film that can be put in the same cookie jar as Natural Born Killers, Platoon, and U Turn.  Instead, we have received films like Wall Street 2: Electric Boogaloo, W., and World Trade Center.  By far not his best work nor interesting.  So the big question is, “Did Oliver Stone deliver the goods on his return to a more sadistic film?”

Hi Bryan Here…..

‘The Phantom Carriage’ has arrived on blu-ray through the spectacular Criterion Collection company.  And once again, Criterion knocks this release out of the park with its stunning hi-def transfer and the amazing extras that is packed on this release.  I’m a huge fan of silent films and this creepy 1921 film by Victor Sjostrom was way ahead of its time and the effects that were done for the time were incredible.  If you are a fan of silent films and horror movies, then this film is for you.  A must buy.

‘City State’ to Be Remade in English!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 17th, 2011

The Bishop Charlotte Reporting….

I’m resigned. Originality in Hollywood will never return. But, if it has to give up on novelty, at least it’s giving us good stuff.

City State is an Icelandic crime drama centered around four people caught up in the underworld. When a foreign mafia takes over the drug market, their lives intersect. There’s a bad cop in love with a whore, a revenge-seeking female cop, an aging crime boss with a heart condition, and a mechanic-turned-avenging-angel. Even a remake could be completely engrossing. It sort of sounds like Sin City meets Crash.

Amy Adams Cast As Superman’s Lois Lane!!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Mar 28th, 2011

Hi Bryan Here….

Now I have spoken out on who should play Lois Lane before.  My first suggestion has always been Selma Blair.  She looks the part and is one hell of an actress.  But this news according to Hero Complex that actress Amy Adams (The Fighter, Enchanted, Catch Me If You Can) has been cast as Lois Lane is wonderful.  Amy Adams has been nominated for an Oscar for her acting three times.  She is one hell of an actress and I believe she will be the best Lois Lane yet.
