Meet Your New Lara Croft: Alicia Vikander!!!
Hey guys, Jana here,
Alicia Vikander is a name that has been mentioned quite a bit in the last year, her Oscar win for last year’s ‘The Danish Girl‘ was a particularly bright spot for the actress, she also appeared in seven movies in the last year, alone. She’s recently been chosen to anchor a reboot of ‘The Tomb Raider‘ and is the new face of Lara Croft.

4K UHD Review: Tomb Raider (2018)!
THE FILM
(This film portion was written by Dan Moran.)
Well the streak remains intact. There still hasn’t been a good video game movie. Tomb Raider isn’t a horrible time at the movies but it sure isn’t a good one. You know that old saying “You can’t put lipstick on a pig.”? Well you can’t put great actors in a video game movie either… its still a damn video game movie.

Film Review: ‘Tomb Raider’ (2018)!
In 2013 Square Enix came out with a new Tomb Raider game, a reboot of the original game that was released in 1996. Now it’s 2018 and Square Enix is giving us a movie based on the reboot game, and is itself a reboot of a film series from 2001. Still with me? I know, time is a flat circle.
We’ve got the latest trailer for ‘Tomb Raider’!!!
Hey guys, Jana here,
It’s a new year and we’re a few days closer to the debut of the ‘Tomb Raider‘ reboot which will hit theaters March 16. The film comes from Norwegian film director Roar Uthaug (‘The Wave‘, ‘Escape‘), while the screenplay comes from screenwriters Alastair Siddons (‘Trespass Against Us‘), and Geneva Robertson-Dworet. Her credits include some pretty big up and coming flicks like a ‘Dungeons & Dragons‘ film, ‘Captain Marvel‘, ‘Gotham City Sirens‘, and ‘M.A.S.K.: Mobile Armored Strike Kommand‘.
To carry out the visions of these filmmakers, they’ve brought an amazing cast on board. Alicia Vikander will take over the Lara Croft role, with Kristin Scott Thomas, Hannah John-Kamen, Walton Goggins, and Dominic West all lending their talents to this big-screen spectacle.

Film Review: ‘Jason Bourne’!
Hi everyone, Bryan here…
Hey now. Matt Damon is back as Jason Bourne in the new film that is simply titled, ‘Jason Bourne‘, which teams up Damon and director Paul Greengrass once again for the spy thriller who seems to never remember who he is or where he came from. In addition to the usual losing sight of Jason Bourne, then spotting him in a big crowd, to losing him once again, the writers added HBO’s ‘Silicon Valley‘ show to the element without all of the fun or comedy. I’ll get to that in a minute though.

I’ve got your cheat sheet for the winners and losers from last night’s Golden Globe Awards, so let’s get to it!!!
And the 2016 Golden Globe Nominees Are….
Hi everyone, Bryan Here…
The awards show is January 10 on NBC hosted by Ricky Gervais. First off, let’s look at something AWESOME here. ‘MAD MAX: FURY ROAD‘ is nominated for BEST PICTURE. It needs to win. It should win. And if does win, we all go streaking. That being said…I can’t believe that ‘Me and Earl and the Dying Girl‘ was not nominated for anything. Come on. It’s one of the BEST films of the year. It’s also interesting to see no love for the final season of ‘Mad Men’ her either. Oh well.
Here is the list of nominees:
Latest Bourne Villain Has Been Cast – Vincent Cassel!!!
Hey guys, Jana here,
Matt Damon’s return to the Jason Bourne franchise was an iffy issue if Paul Greengrass wasn’t returning to direct, as well. Luckily, both announced their return last year and the cast has been filling in steadily, since then. Tommy Lee Jones and Alicia Vikander are slated for the flick and new waves are being made today as one of the villains was announced.
Film Review: ‘The Man From U.N.C.L.E.’!
Hi everyone, Bryan Here….
The latest Hollywood remake to hit theaters is the hit tv show from the mid-60’s ‘The Man From U.N.C.L.E.‘, which lasted four seasons and was partially developed by Ian Fleming just as the James Bond franchise was taking off. If you were alive during the mid-60s, you would have known that this ‘U.N.C.L.E.‘ television series was one of the best things on tv at the time, as it centered on an American spy and a Russian spy, working together to take out the bad guys in a very 007 kind of way.
Film Review: ‘Ex Machina’!
Fernando M., Here…
It’s very rare that we get to say that a directorial debut is nothing short of a rousing success. Ex Machina is one of the finest films I have seen in YEARS! Written and directed by veteran screenwriter Alex Garland, the brilliant writing mind behind 28 Days Later, Sunshine, and the Dredd reboot; he has outdone himself in every way by taking the director’s chair on his new film.

Take a Look at the Toronto International Film Festival Slate!!!
Hi, Bryan Here….
The Toronto Film Festival is coming up quickly and it looks like it is going to be one for the books. ‘Looper’ is going to open up the festival with several other centerpiece films that strike my fancy. Two of them include Joss Whedon’s Shakespeare film ‘Much Ado About Nothing’, and Terrence Malick’s new film, ‘To The Wonder’. Can’t wait. Below is the official press release. Who’s going? Piers Handling, CEO and Director of TIFF, and Cameron Bailey, Artistic Director of the Toronto International Film Festival, made the first announcement of films to premiere at the 37th Toronto International Film Festival. Films announced include titles in the Galas and Special Presentations programmes. The announced films include 17 Galas and 45 Special Presentations, including 38 world premieres.
