The Triple Frontier is a geographical location where the Iguazu and Parana rivers converge at a border zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil. The location has become a popular backdrop for high-action, military fare. It was the backdrop for episodes of ‘NCIS‘, ‘The Unit‘, and 2006’s ‘Miami Vice‘. Now Paramount is making ‘Triple Frontier‘, a feature film penned by Mark Boal.

The project was originally envisioned with Katherine Bigelow at the helm and possibly starring Tom Hanks, Will Smith and Johnny Depp. The film is being re-visited with JC Chandor as director, Charles Roven and Alex Gartner producing through Atlas Entertainment. Channing Tatum and Tom Hardy are in talks to star.
