Paramount to Use Facebook as Netflix!
by Gumbercules9000 on Nov 30th, 2011No, really. You can stream all of the Mission: Impossible movies via Facebook. All you have to do is “Like” the Mission: Impossible page and go to town.
By “go to town”, I mean you do have to pay for them using Facebook Credits (available for purchase on the site itself.) 30 credits per movie, $2.99 for the credits. So, basically, rent all three for $9. You can view them for up to two days. It’s kind of like streaming Blockbuster new releases. “Like” the page, click “Rent Movies”, pick one, watch. Unlike pay-per-view, you can pause the movie or leave Facebook without losing it.
Fans can also play the new game, cleverly titled Mission: Impossible: The Game. The first 200 people who spot the game’s Easter egg will receive a free code for one of the rentals (for those out of the know, an Easter egg is a hidden joke or message within a game or other piece of media.)
This is a publicity stunt for the new installment, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (out December 21st.) Nice job, Paramount.
