Misty Here…

Musical genius Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber is planning on bringing 2003 “School of Rock” back to the stage. In an interview on CBS radio, Webber talked about acquiring the rights of the musical along with writing some new songs to go with the original ones. Remember, Jack Black starred in the film alongside Sarah Silverman, Mike White, and Joan Cusack.

Black played a rocker who taught a bunch of high-class kids to play their instruments not for classical, but for rock n’ roll, to which they formed a rock band during school hours. Adam Pascal, known Broadway star, also appeared in the movie to sing some of the songs. I am interested in seeing what Webber could do with the already popular musical. This is the potential to be amazing on stage as the music is so good including music from Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, and The Doors.

It will be very difficult to replace Black in this role as he was so energetic and charismatic.  Maybe he will do a run on stage as the same character. I can only hope.  Your thoughts?
