Hey guys, Jana here,

Joel and Ethan Coen are bringing their genius craft to Netflix in the form of a Western, anthology series about the American Frontier. The news was announced with typical Coen-flair – “We are streaming motherfuckers!”

The Ballad of Buster Scruggs‘ will be written and directed by the famous brothers for a debut sometime in 2018. The series will consist of six chapters, with each chapter telling a distinct story about the American West. We’ve known that the brothers were working on a TV project and that they were working with Annapurna, but now we know they’ve got a home.

Starring in the series is Coen-favorite Tim Blake Nelson (‘O Brother Where Art Thou?‘) as Scruggs. Others appearing are Tyne Daly (‘Judging Amy‘), James Franco (‘127 Hours‘), Ralph Ineson (‘The Witch‘), and Zoe Kazan (‘The Big Sick‘).
