Aaron Paul aka Jesse Pinkman has been cast as the lead in ‘Need For Speed’.  Yes, the movie adaptation of the video game from EA.  The film will be under the DreamWorks banner and has been set for a February 7, 2014 release with Scott Waugh (‘Act of Valor’) to direct.

DreamWorks said, “The movie will be rooted in the tradition of the great car-culture films of the ’70s while being extremely faithful to the spirit of the video game franchise.  In Need for Speed, the cars are hot, the racing is intense, and the story keeps players at the edge of their seat.” EA vice president Patrick Soderlund said, “Like the game series itself, the cast for the movie needs to be edgy and cool. Aaron Paul is a rising star — a great choice for the film lead.”

So I guess Paul is going to be the next action star now.  Paul is such a wonderful actor, and I would hate to see him get involved in something like the ‘Fast and Furious’ films.  So, if this film does well, maybe we will see a Gran Turismo movie, or how about a ‘Twisted Metal’ movie.  Oh, how I want to Sweet Tooth live action vehicle.

Also, I want Paul to yell “Bitch” at some point.
