Hi Bryan Here….

Mark Wahlberg and Russell Crowe are teaming up to star in  an Allen Hughes-directed independently financed noir drama ‘Broken City’.  “Wahlberg plays an ex-cop-turned-private detective who is hired by the mayor (the role Crowe will play) to see if his wife is cheating on him. The private eye confirms those suspicions, and when the mayor’s wife’s cheating partner ends up dead, the private eye immerses himself in the mayor’s business and uncovers a real estate scandal that involves the poll dealing himself choice city-owned properties.”

Production is set to being in November with Wahlberg producing through his production company.  This sounds right up these actors alleys.  They have both played roles like this before.  And Allen Hughes of the Hughes brothers is pretty talented.  They are responsible for ‘Book of Eli’, ‘From Hell’, ‘Dead Presidents’, and ‘Menace II Society’.  So I think this movie has some talent behind it.  I just hope it brings us something different and original than from what we have seen in the past from this type of genre of film.
