Hey guys, Jana here,

D23 gave us some news today that will have all the live-action fans among us cheering. Disney has officially found their three main leads for the live-action ‘Aladdin‘! Mena Massoud (TV series ‘Jack Ryan‘) will be taking on the titular role of Aladdin, Naomi Scott (‘Power Rangers‘) will play Princess Jasmine, and Will Smith (‘Suicide Squad‘)will be giving life to the Genie.

Guy Ritchie will direct the threesome from a script written by John August (‘Big Fish‘). To take on the classic, and beloved ‘Aladdin‘ is a tall task, but it looks like they’re off to a good start with getting the casting on point. Ritchie’s producer through the ‘Sherlock Holmes‘ movies, Dan Lin, is on board to produce through his Lin Pictures Company.
